Amane paused glancing at the eggs a moment longer "That one there is yours Zadina so I hope you can enjoy this one. Theres one for you Jeckhart if you want it but... the thought just suddenly occured to me that it might be weird you eating eggs because it might be a bit like cannibalism to me" she mumbled feeling her cheeks turn red undernieth her fur.
Hebal nodded bouncing around on her chair "Yeah it was gria clothing. They are meant to be real tiny little things when they are born. Probably the height of Merric actually. Maybe I'll get him a nice little pouch or belt for him to wear when he's bigger. Chocobos grow real fast when they want to"

Felina rubbed her eyes examining the horses briefly "Hey I remember that horse when it was just a foal. Though don't worry Oassu, you just have to climb onto the back of the horse and let the guard up front do all the work. And I'm also sure he won't be offended if you need to hold onto him a little" she added fighting down the thought of Oassu flailing about on the horse.
Corella smiled on the other hand deciding to take first pick of the transport "You don't need to look graceful on the horse at least Oassu. Only ladies are expected to ride side saddle on these things so you'll have better balence" she added before giving the guards a cheerful greeting each.
After much thought Satoshi eventually decided the best thing to feed Enkidu would be the bacon she had left in the house so set to work frying while trying not to laugh at Gil's snoring.

Oassu frowned "I sincerely doubt I'll be doing that, just let me try it on my own, you can always give me tips if I go wrong" he grumbled mounting the horse with little difficulty wobbling slightly as the horse shuffled back and forth "I guess with your lifetime you must go through so many creatures full lifespans" he said handing Cid over to Felina "You'd probably best hold onto him you're better on horses" he said.
Enkidu sat happily looking up at the plate sizzling his tail wagging happily as he waited for Satoshi to feed him.
Jeckhart smiled in an attempt to calm Amane down "Relax Miss Amane it's fine I'm sure you can just give my egg to Alpha or Zadina, it's not really cannibalism but some people find it a bit distasteful is all" he said.
Zadina nodded happily "Sure I'll eat it but I hope he doesn't grow too fast I quite like being able to carry Merric about easily with me" he said playing another small tune on his whistle "Though I'm sure he'll appreciate the hat once he's used to it" he said brightly.

Hebal laughed and shook her head "Oh everything grows fast by elf standards. He'll be fully grown in 2 years and in half that time a moogle or a child or a gria... someone small would be able to fully ride him too. We'll need to keep buying him new hats all the time. That can be a birthday present"
Amane smiled quickly nudging Jeckharts egg onto Zadina's plate "Well uh sorry. At least Hebal's present to you smells yummy even from all the way over here and still wrapped. You know soon Merric will be too big for his lead so we'll have to get him trained to follow you soon or get a bigger one."

Felina paused waiting until she had climbed up and onto the horses back before taking Cid from his arms "As you wish though I bet he'll love the journey bouncing up and down for a good ten minutes or so. And sure we do but we breed horses so theres always more to repalce them"
"Would you like a hand getting up there sir?" The knight sitting on what was to be Oassu's horse offered to him. Corella on the other hand was already climbing up with the help of her rider having dismounted to lift her. "We seem to get horses like every other birthday or dragon festival but this one... this one if more of a war horse than the usual show ones we tend to get"
Satoshi snickered surprised to see a tail wag from Enkidu "Ok ok maybe a little jutsu wont harm in heating it up" she whispered with a few handsignes to increase the heat of the flames. "There ya go Enkidu, breakfast is served" she almost sang in a good mood while she placed down the plate then went off to ready Gil's present.

Oassu frowned putting his foot in the stirrup agile enough to mount the horse relatively easily despite his inexperience "I'll be ok for now thank you" he told the knight somewhat embarrassed he even had to be asked "So how far is outpost 3?" he asked the others shivering slightly as the chill morning air settled on them.
Enkidu stuck into his plate of food eagerly while Gil began to stir as the smell of cooked food reached him.
Zadina nodded somewhat reluctantly "I'd rather train him but he's such a curious chocobo I don't know if it's possible still we can try perhaps a beastmaster or Miss Mari can help since she's good with animals." he smiled remembering a trick Viera can do "If I recall Viera can sense what an animal is feeling anyway Miss Hebal has done it before with Cid, that would make training animals easy I bet" he said.
Jeckhart blinked slightly surprised before he remembered about Viera's extremely powerful sense of smell "Ah well I suppose I had best open it so we can sample what it is" he said unable to smell anything yet as he moved Merric aside on the couch where he strutted happily in his hat before unwrapping his present to reveal a large chocolate bar "Ah how nice of you Hebal thank you very much for getting me something on such short notice" he said happily.

Amane rubbed her ear "Well I guess it might help but you don't need me to tell you the hat is confusing Merric and he is enjoyed the food that Jeckhart gave him. You don't always need viera senses to see things but... I don't think we have any beastmasters in our forest. Must be an elf thing"
Hebal smiled almost pouncing on the strutting Merric to hug him "It's no problem and i think bird demons can handle chocolate, I know it makes cat demons sick but I wasn't sure about your kind" she told him barely able to take notice for a second Amane was waving around her own present for Hebal. "Oh thanks there but you shouldn't have" she gasped pulling apart the weapping paper in one swift motion. "Hey Amane you shouldn't have gone to any trouble but thanks" she sung hugging Amane with one hand and showing off her hew gloves in the other.

Felina braced herself listening to her rider make a small grunt before setting off the horse "Outpost 3 can't be that far considering outpost 1 is just beyond the back of the castle grounds and 53 the last one is right on the outskirts of the forest like right back at where we got off the airship. But I think we can trust these guys to take us there without me having to look at the map constantly" she answered glancing back to see Corella chatting away happily again to her rider while Oassu followed them a short way behind, the horse going somewhat slower than the others.
"So Oassu hows your first experience of horse riding going so far" Corella asked fighting down a small giggle as she looked back. "Would you want us to slow down for you? It wouldn't cause that much of a delay to our trip" she offered.
Satoshi smiled and let out a small sigh while she watched Gil wondering if that was him awake or not occasionally glancing down at Enkidu chomping down his food. "You can have this piece too if Gil doesn't wake up soon Enkidu"

Oassu crossed his arms grumpily before hurriedly gripping the side of the saddle as the horse shook slightly "We're hardly falling behind, though to be honest I prefer chocobos, they are softer to sit on than these saddles....and smell slightly better" he added
Gil smiled "Hey don't say things like that, I'm up" a sleepy Gil said shifting under the blanket before pushing himself up propping against the arm rest. "Good morning Nadira, I see Enkidu has already troubled you for breakfast" he groaned stretching his arms hearing the familiar sound of Enkidu eating, best put out a bowl of water for him too.
Zadina nodded "Beastmasters are more common in other cultures but some elves do it, different races take different approaches to beast mastery I understand" he said tucking into his breakfast happily while Jeckhart tentatively tried his chocolate.

Alpha snickered seeing Jeckharts caution "Hebal might not be a demon expert but Seph is pretty good friends with a bird demon and that friend of hers is one of the biggest sugar addicts you can find so ate pleanty chocolate without being ill" he assured him leading to a small sigh of relief from Hebal who had been watching Jeckhart expectantly.
Amane yawned privately wishing she made more eggs for seconds "Well we don't have any viera beast masters. I dunno it wouild kinda be weird if we od since we're so close to our homelands spiritually anyway. And summoning in a way is kinda like the same thing maybe..." she pondered uncertainly. "So how many beastmasters have you met?"

Satoshi snickered leaning over Gil avoiding the stretching arms "Morning Gil.Actually I offered to feed him and no need to get mad. Worst case scenario I would have cooked you a proper more local breakfast since bacon is a luxury thing here. Your costume looks good may I add"
Felina laughed glancing back at Oassu "Hey dont be so glum. Its your first time riding and its not like you have had lessons or anything. We just use horses because they are faster and more showy so you may never need to ride one again" she assured him "Plus you havent fallen off yet which is a good sign"

Gil chuckled reaching out and stroking Satoshi's hip with one arm before sitting upright "I'm sure he'd ave loved that and taunted me about it too but it smells great so he's not getting it" he said yawning and petting for Satoshi to sit beside him "Still did you sleep well?" he asked rubbing his eyes.
Oassu rolled his eyes "Sure sure, I think I could be faster on foot in a forest though" he said looking at the finely trimmed gardens as they slowly made their way around the back of the palace in the dark morning "Though I'd never heard horses were faster than chocobos, thought they were pretty much equals" he said.
Zadina shook his head "Oh no I've hardly met any that I really can claim to be an expert on them, only General Nares really, but you summon things way more interesting than monsters I'll bet" he said happily flicking through his song book.

Amane smiled and nodded "I hope so but they will definately be bigger and maybe scarier looking if nicer in nature" she sighed once her egg was finally all gone. "Well that was lovely and I wonder what will happen today. Maybe we can see more interesting demons or go pet their pet dragon" she suggested.
Hebal stopped bouncing around for a second, her ears twitching nervously a moment "Woah there surely only the dragon tamer can go near that creature without there being any danger or trouble. Can't you just make candyfloss instead" she frowned before turning her attention to Zadina's book. "See any songs you recognise"

Felina smiled shiffling slightly further towards the back of her horse "They have more stamina so can go for longer without taking a rest but have it your way I'll tell them all to speed up but brace yourself" she warned before giving the word to the riders to send the horses into a gallop.
Corella almost jumped surprised at Felina's decision. "Well this will certainly get us there faster. Though a little more notice than that would have been appreciated" she complained.
Satoshi shrugged glancing down at Enkidu "He's not that bad is he. I doubt he would fo around taunting it with you. He's too fast an eater" she concluded sitting down beside Gil. "Yeah I slept ok thanks although I didn't get a proper nap until the clones disappeared. But it was enough to have a decent rest. How about you sleepy?"

Oassu gasped as the horses kicked into a gallop bumping slightly as they surged forward "Perhaps a more gradual boost would have been better" he grunted gasping as the horse bucked again sending him spinning back off the horse flipping around landing lithely in the snow. Grumbling incoherently he swiftly teleported back to the horse pretending it hadn't happened at all "A little slower if you could" he called ahead.
Gil chuckled "I don't know he always feels proud whenever he's got some special food like a bone or a steak so might be like that" he said wrapping his arms around Satoshi and giving her a kiss "Well I slept fine, happy dragon festival Nadira" he added.
Zadina gasped surprised by Hebal's sudden rush around the room flickering through the pages "W-Well yes I had roughly the same book in elvish, perhaps a few more elvish cultural tunes in my old one but this looks nice "But if we spend another day at the circus wouldn't we have to return Amane tomorrow?" he asked.
Jeckhart smiled bringing Merric over to the counter he we hurried over to Amane with a piece of Zadina's shiny silver wrapping paper eager to show her his hat "Well this little one is certainly enjoying his morning but perhaps you'd enjoy the morning at least after all this is Alpha's time with his daughter as well" he said.
