"Oh, that thing... It is my grand father's signet ring. It carries the insignia of my blood line and... a few other things." Shadow said as he patted the pocket that held the ring with a smileon his face at rememebring what happened to his grand father and grand mother.

She then asked, "Who would be your next mate if you had the choice?" she asked curiously and cause the question just popped in her mind.

"If we forget such events then we make way for them to happen again because we failed to learn from what happened and I cannot afford to let the mistakes of the past happen again." Shadow said followed by a heavy sigh. The image of fire was dominating his mind now. A frim reminder too him.
"My next mate... I don't know. Well, If I had the choice and certain situations could be removed then you or Nadea. Two very fine women, both refined but that is just the mind of this tired old man... that was a hypothetical question right?" Shadow said

"Alright. Who would you choose to be your mate?" Shadow said, he was curious and wondering what her responce would be, possibly some human he had never heard of. At that point his mind was running through the events that lead to some of the worset parts of his life, parts that he deeply regreted now.

Shadow smiled, he was enjoying how this nights events had turned out. He had learned a few things and come to a better understanding of someone who intrested him. "This has turned out too be a very good night." Shadow said in a near wisper, not really aware that he had said it. He then gently pulled Maxine a little closer into him.
