Comrade Clara
Ashram, I still want to hear about the teenage folk. You've started teaching already, right?
I have but I haven't. (classes don't start until wednesday)
However, I did get to see the room I'll be teaching in today and planned a little strategy with my supervising teacher.
Our room is ... interesting
xd (and crowded
xp ) It doubles as a computer lab, so there are A LOT of computers lined along the walls, which leaves little room for desks and such to begin with. Coupled with that is the fact that, for some reason, boxes upon boxes of books were placed pretty much at the entrance to the room.
So, my day consisted of:
1. Moving heavy boxes filled with books
2. Reorganizing the room by moving the tables with the computers on them. (some of the tables were almost glued to the floor because it had been recently waxed and, for some reason, the geniuses who did the waxing left the tables and such in the room after waxing, causing them to stick. Nothing a good hammer didn't fix though
mrgreen )
3. Discussing the crap I'm going to have to deal with when it comes to kids' personal lives
4. Having Mt. Dew and Cookies near the end of the day (Yum!
heart )
