Yeah, Wedge would be awesome. So would a medic, or some non-combat personnel. I do miss the maps from BF1, though. They'll probably come out with a game that's like BF or Republic Commando or a hybrid of some stuff. I think they've done about all they can with the current games. The folks over at LucasArts are gonna have to add something totally new to impress me.
Like FP lightsaber-ness (Wii plug...). Sorry guys, but I'm a fan of the Jedi-based games. Then again, I haven't played every single one like you guys have, so maybe the novelty hasn't worn off on me yet.
However, it would be pretty lame to have BF: Jedi anything. I think what the Jedi have in BF2 is good enough for them. They star in enough of their own games to do anything. I don't know if one of these is out yet, but what about a SW RTS like Command & Conquer (if you know what that game is). Having all the clone classes like the commandos and ARC troopers in a game like that would be pretty cool, I think. And the Jedi could be special units, only available in certain missions. I would buy a game like that at full price...
No I wouldn't. I'm too cheap for that.

You could probably unlock a playable Wedge for space battles, should they implement it. But then, I imagine they'd throw in some hefty prerequisites for it. ^^;;
Plus, a space battle variant of Luke would be just shy of God-modding! ^_^;; "Artoo: fix my dinner! Then, clean my room. After that, wash my shorts!"
Theris: If it makes you feel any better, I felt deprived during the bulk o' the 90's when Rebel Assault, TIE Fighter and Dark Forces hit the PC, as I didn't own such 'til '99. ^^;;
That said, people: don't they now have a bundle o' all the games from way back when? ^_^;;

Empire at War isn't really RTS. its more like RTT, real time tactics.
no, Galactic Battlegrounds is the last RTS I can think of.

elvisnake That'd work... Plus they should expand the story mode to make it so that there is a story for each of the groups... That'd kick butt. Plus they could put the Vong and crud in, I guess. Not to shoot anyone down but no it wouldn't. I'd say about 50%-60% of the Star Wars fan base actually read EU. They wouldn't know what the hell was going on.

They'd learn in one quick hurry. Plus, that's where storyline comes in, like briefings and such...

i for one think that's not a good idea... the vong wouldn't translate well into a video game... their weaknesses are too precise, you'd have to have very complicated controls.

I agree with the need for Space heroes in BF2. They could do Boba and Jango with Slave I, Obi-Wan or Anakin in a Jedi fighter, and Luke in an X-wing. You could put Wedge in, but they could do Pilot Luke with very little effort, and only have to worry about one new addition to the game. (Slave I)

Well, you'd need to balance the heroes. My setup:
Empire: Vader and Boba space heroes Republic: Anakin and Kenobi (or if we wish to get rid of anakin and replace him with 8-ball, for a NFU force user)
CIS: Jango and Anakin (provided he ai't republican) Rebels: Luke and Wedge.

The Vong need their own game, if anything at all. And for those people who have read the NJO and who do buy the game, it'd be a drag waiting for the technology and Republic discoveries and whatnot to catch up with what you already know. It would seem that a Vong based game would be insanely hard at the beginning--like, you lose every mission--and then get super-easy once you got to a certain point. Maybe something that would incorporate more of the diplomatics into it instead of just the combat. Make it more of a global control game (can't think of what they're called right now).

Nelowulf Well, you'd need to balance the heroes. My setup: Empire: Vader and Boba space heroes Republic: Anakin and Kenobi (or if we wish to get rid of anakin and replace him with 8-ball, for a NFU force user) CIS: Jango and Anakin (provided he ai't republican) Rebels: Luke and Wedge. Instead of Anakin, it should be Assaj and her Fanblade fighter. Also, can any of you imagine how awkward it would be to try to get in and out of a hangar in the Slave 1? I mean the roofs of the hangars in BF aren't really known for their height. It's a pain in the a** to try and land a transport into a Star Destroyer hangar considering how high the solar panels are on the TIEs plus the racks on the ceiling don't really help. Also, continuing with the Yuuzhan Vong thing, it would be pretty freaking hard in battles against them. For starters, it would be nearly impossible to destroy one of the Coral Skippers because of the vortex things that automatically form up where ever it's being shot from. Also, if you get shot by a Coral Skipper, it'll just keep on burning through the hull. Plus, if they do add a story thing for it, it will only create spoilers for the NJO series, thus taking away the money of the authors.

Nah. Landing in a hangar ain't that hard. Its just a b***h trying to get past the guns.
And as a space hero, you wouldn't leave the fighter anyway.

I'm just mad at BF2 for only letting you play space over six or so planets in Instant Action. In Galactic Conquest, you can do space over every planet, and out in empty space, why not in Instant action as well?
