UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
I slept with another random stranger not 2 days after first stranger. Second stranger is now my boyfriend and is living with me. Catch: He's 28 and has a 4 year old daughter.
Oh, my.
I'm not fussed. But my dad will break his kneecaps.
I had soymilk for the first time today. In my pasta roni. I was making cheddar shells, and noticed my lack of nonfat milk. Craving the creamy white cheddar, I turn to the soymilk and debate with it in my hands for five minutes. Dare I give the thick, chunky soy excrete with the label "shake well before using" a chance? The need for carbs was to great. I have a long night of backbreaking sex ahead of me, I need carbofuel.
Never again.

YAY for college Laurel! Congrats!
Ok, I totally love MySpace, for no other reason but, I found one of my old childhood friends on there. And not just a friend who was just someone I would see at school, she and I were like best friends. We did everything together, and were in the same class all the way from Gr. 3 to Gr. 7 when I moved to London. We're both really excited at the moment. I love today!!!!
OH!!! And I got a job!!!! Not in my field, but thats ok. Its being the stock manager at a clothing store, and I make $9 an hour, and put in 40 hour weeks. HOORAY!!! I start on Wed I think.

I'm so excited about that college thing, but at the same time I don't want to do it at all. We have to meet with the woman who will decide what happens to my education this week, I'm hoping she'll send me back to highschool, cause I'm scared. I mean, this is what I've been saying I wanted since Cody applied to the U of U, to get out of highschool as fast as possible and catch up with all my friends. This is it. But I'm worried, I'm scared it's going to be too hard, or that I won't be able to handle it.... or that I'll just mess it all up. Also, I won't just be catching up to my friends, infact I'm going to be surpassing most of them. Doug, who's two YEARS older than me is going to start college after me. I don't know how I feel about that. He's the only person I've told about the college thing so far and it's motavated him to get to college big time, like he's going to try and get in fall semester with Cody and I, but I don't think it's going to be possible. I told him I was feeling nervous about it, and he said "Then just don't go... Finish highschool, it'll be better for you." and while that could be excellent idea, he could also just be incredibly jealous or upset or I hurt his fragile male ego. He's smarter than me and has better ACT scores, but I'm skipping two years of highschool. I could see that bothering him, I could how he's the smartest one out of Him, Cody and I and then Cody and I are skipping years of school and doing alot better than him and he ends up almost dropping out of highschool and starting college late... I could see that being why he doesn't want me to do this....But on the other hand.... I am kind of young (16) and I would be starting my Junior year at highschool, and graduating at the end of it. I hate highschool though, I mean, I don't get on well with a lot of the other kids, and I really just don't care about them, and since I got my car, I don't care about classes either. I didn't go to most of the last month of school and pulled off a 3.6 GPA. I don't really want to stay in highschool two more years so I can take lots of AP classes. I don't like the enviroment of highschool. I hate hate hate it. And since Cody applied to the U of U, and since I realized everyone I know and care about just graduated highschool and is headed to college, my GPA has been in a pretty god damn steady decline. See, Cody dropped out of highschool in about december, and he was in his senior year... I just thought it was the STUPIDEST thing ever, untill he got into the U of U with his GED. Then I kind of lost all motavation to do well in highschool because it didn't matter... I don't think anything right now could make me think otherwise. But that's not the problem. The problem is that I don't know if I can do college... or if I want to try. I want to be able to confidently say to this woman "YES, I WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE NOW! I'm excited and enthuastic! I will do well!" I don't know if I believe that. I'm not using to having to work hard and if I do in college it could kill me, but also, I'm care a lot lot lot more about college grades than I did about highschool grades... And I'll have to deal with college sooner or later.... And also, when people always told me "THIS WILL BE A REAL HARD CLASS(YEAR, GRADE, ETC.)" I ALWAYS found it easy. I dunno. neutral Someone give me advice or something.

I think that its a great opportunity for you. If you know that you're not going to be focused in high school for the last two years, and you really hate it there, maybe it's time for a change of scenery. If I read right, you don't really care about high school, but college is a big thing for you. Perhaps you'll have more drive and motivation to do well in college.
I'm not sure that college is harder than high school. My grades in high school pretty much sucked near the end, but my overall GPA is 3.24. I suppose it depends on what you're taking though, and your willingness to learn... And study habits. Some of the projects are hard, but I found that tests are further apart, and papers are way easier to write, because they give you a whole outline on everything that needs to be in there, and ask you to add in your own stuff as well. At least my college does. But if you're really dedicated to doing it, then it won't be an issue for you.
I understand the whole friend situation as well, but you need to do what's best for you. If you're academically(sp?) prepared for college, and you really want to go, then go. Its not your fault that your friend has made other decisions and that you're now going further than he did. If he's a good friend, he'll respect your decision and hope that you're happy and succeed.
The atmosphere of college is a lot better than high school though, and I think that really helps. You're surrounded by people who are working towards something. People have figured out what they want to do, and if they haven't, they're trying to. In high school, I found a lot of people don't know what they want to do, and they're not really concerned with it. So they don't study as hard as they should, for subjects that might be required in whatever they may choose to do. In general, I found college to have a more positive environment, and there's a lot more support.
If its any consolation, I have a friend who's 16 and goes to college. He's doing fairly well, considering he never even went to high school. He had a bit of a rough time settling in, but he finally did, and like I said, he's doing well.
Its definitely something you should really think over though. Cause you don't want to be going in with any major doubts. I hope some of this helped you out in some way. If you had anymore questions, then feel free to ask. Good luck with everything though.

Anyway, Laurel, good luck in college. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life, and I'll decide on something eventually. I think you'll do well though. smile

eek This is cool... blaugh
College is scary. gonk I'm going to be a high school senior in late August, and I haven't a clue. sweatdrop I'm taking 2 AP courses, so that's good, I suppose. I've also got 220 hours of community service and there's the Peer Advocate program. My average GPA for high school is 3.67, which is just enough to graduate with honors. I got an 1860 on the SAT, but I don't know if that's good enough. xp The whole college application thing is scaring me. crying
Enough on that, though. Leviticus! I remember you! surprised And Laurel, it's nice to finally meet you. 3nodding I've heard a lot about you, lol.

Afterall, George W. got into college, I'm sure anyone can if they try hard enough.... or are rich.... But trying is a good place to start.

California's in-state tuition is AWESOME. blaugh

And you can get into college just fine too, seriously. My friend had about the same GPA and is here with me. My SATs weren't spectacular or anything, and I got into Berkeley (or Bezerkley as I call it due to all the protests and the fact that they didn't have the major I wanted). AP courses are good too smile They don't always help for actual college credits though; I think my major accepted 2 of the ones I took as actual replacements for college courses, while the others only gave me random units which won't end up helping much.

It really is quite an experience to watch so many things change over time. Though it is little compared to experiencing those changes for oneself.

So, this has nothing to do with what you just said.....but congrats on getting the sash ninja On another note, my friend had a person in her class who will be a senior in college this coming year. He's a biochem major. He is 16, seriously. I mean, it's crazy! WHY WOULD SOMEONE MAJOR IN BIOCHEM!!!!! I WOULD GO NUTS!!!! Hahaha.
