Yes, Kristal had turned around and completely disregarded the new person that was standing there, despite them being particularly shady. Hey, Kristal was never the brightest when it came to survival instincts; being a slave did that to you.

"He totally likes you! You just maybe can't tell because my Master is such a complicated person! It's a good thing he can't say no to a pretty woman, huh?"

Kristal chuckled at her own joke. Really! If her Lord or his family could hear what she was saying now, then she would surely be put to death on the spot. But friends were fun to talk to, and especially if they had a crush on the single person your entire life was for the purpose of serving.

((Yeah. : ))

"Are you kidding, Netsubo Mei-Mei?!" Kristal could hardly contain herself now. Now that she had a friend who was also a girl, it was nice to talk about these things like one would expect from a normal person's life. But to go this far? The purple-haired girl couldn't believe it. "You're smart and pretty and a good fighter! Of course it would be you out of all the other girls! And because I know my Master very well, I can tell that it is you whom he likes!"

Because after all, no matter how much she lived for her master, he would always remain her master. She was none of the above things that made a boy like a girl, but this new friend had everything. Even her master's affections.

And she would be darned if she wasn't going to interfere in her master's love life! It needed a good interfering in!

((Ah, KK's a bit conflicted because she likes Ren a lot too, but she would get killed if he ever found that out... sweatdrop But she's rooting whole-heartedly now for Netsubo. XD;; ))

((Then we'd have ourselves one twisted love triangle. 8D))

"...Oh..." Now Kristal had to think about her actions carefully. Treading on thin ice was something she was used to doing, but not when the outcome relied on an emotional response and not physical pain. It was much more difficult with friends because you cared if they got hurt, not if it was yourself getting the physical abuse. "...Well, I just know that my Master really likes you, Netsubo Mei-Mei. But if not you...Then who? I can't think of anyone else besides you who would be right."

"M-Me?!?!?"

Kristal was far too taken aback. That hadn't even been an option to her ever before. Mainly because it would mean her certain death and her master's harm.

"Ah...N-No, I don't think so...We'd only fight all the time...We're nothing alike...I only know so much about my Master because I was serving him since he was four...I only care about him because I think of him as a dear friend..."

And she wasn't doing a good job of convincing herself of this. No. Her emotions had to be repressed. Others mattered more than she did, especially in this situation.

"...I think that my Master would be happier if he chose you. Besides, you two get along great already!"

((Those two really do only just fight. I've put them in a room together before, and they ended up shouting at each other so bad...))

"Y-Yes, I'm sure!" Kristal needed to reassure herself and Netsubo of this. After all, her feelings were on the line here. It wasn't as if the purple-haired girl needed emotions in her line of business anyways. "Besides, you two make a good couple! After all, I've never really seen Master Ren looking so happy or at home with others before!"

Netsubo wouldn't have known it, but she was dealing with someone to whom love was as much as a novelty to as it was to her. Let alone ever have a boyfriend, Kristal was sure that the only people she really loves, she only loved as family, and that included her master. Mainly because all they ever really accomplished was get into arguments.

But that was besides the point.

"It may be..." The purple-haired girl allowed herself to admit, though she didn't look as doubtful as she sounded. She knew more than she would let on to, as was the way of the world. "But then again, Master Ren has never really had so many friends before, and I've never seen him interact this was with another girl!! So he must love you a lot!"

That seemed to make things straight; Kristal could almost feel the triumphant smile on her face as she looked confidently at her friend who was walking beside her. Installing a little encouragement here and there would get the two to fall for each other soon enough.

"...Why would Fang do that?"

"Yeah!" Surprisingly, Spiral popped up suddenly and floated in next to his older sister / shaman. He liked interrupting conversations when he could relate to the topic. "A spirit ally shouldn't argue with their shaman's life! Especially if it's in the love department, since that seems to only really get on their nerves..."

After her younger brother sniggered a bit, Kristal felt like smacking him. Calm nerves and patience allowed her to restrain that instinct. "...You interfere all the time, so don't act like a little angel, you..."

Grinning like mad, like a true shinigami, the red-headed spirit ignored his sister's grumbles and switched sides so that he was by Netsubo. She shouldn't be bothered by spirits since she was a shaman, even if he was also technically a shinigami. "How about you? Do you like that annoying little p***k of a Tao?" Eyes shifting conspiratorially, he leaned in a bit closer and made sure to whisper. His sister didn't need to know this. "Please say yes so that I can be at peace knowing that he won't get my sister..."
