Hey-ho. I've only just started thoughts now on collecting Eldar due to I really like their war-walkers, their style of treachery and deceit let alone looking down upon all of them and their different variety of aspect warriors.
Problems is I have little experiance with an army like them. I collect things like orks and Imperial guard, charging masses of guys and hoping it works out well for them, as I use something decisive like stormboyz and kommandos or Sentinels and Valkyries to do the blows. Let alone I know little of the Eldar army
The army I've had in mind is getting things like wraithguards and wraithlords, with many war-walker vehicles with Striking scorpions and Warp-spiders from the Ulthwe craftworld. So tell me if this is a good idea and suggest what might be good. I would ask my friends, but they dislike anything with pointy heads and bodies that look fragile and myself but I'd probably add more numbers to my army until I solved what ever problems I came across lol .

Wraithlords are decent. They're big targets without an Invuln, so that's obviously an issue. Warwalkers are cheaper and can let you put out a hell of a lot more firepower per turn, along with being S6 in combat.
Wraithguard are a waste of points from what I've seen. They end up dying like punks.
Scorpions are fantastic. Tons of attacks, good armor, and the rules for Running let them close ground even though they don't have fleet.
Spiders are hit and miss. I've heard opinions both ways, but there's no denying the fact that their guns pack a wallop. Decent BS and high strength combined means that they'll force a lot of saves, which is the best way to kill MEq.
Dire Avengers are a must. They're relatively cheap and can do fantastic work to deny enemies control over areas. Squads of 5 are good for holding objectives, while a full strength squad with an Exarch and Blade Storm give you the ability to chew through anything and everything.
Also, Eldar Jetbikes are cheap, fast, and survivable. A min squad of 3 with a Shuriken Cannon can be used to move quickly and harrass outlying enemies, or to scream across the board and contest objectives.

Thanks, the advice I was looking for and glad to know I'm going on a good direction (I think), though disappointed about the wraithguards, but ah well saves me getting another metal set (I hate metal)

Throw a unit of 5x Wraith Guard and one Farsser or warlock in a Waveserpent. Concel if warlock this will give the unit 4+ cover no matter where they are this also Confers it on the Dedicated Trasport if theres a warlock inside it so bonus two ways.
but since moving fast gives you a cover you could change the warlock to a farseer for Unit buffs from a psyker spell like re-rolls or eldric storm to mess up the tanks you run into this helps with getting your Wraithguard close enough to use the opponets tanks as cover also to get there guns in range. speed up drop them off near a tank or outpost zap it with a farseer. points expensive, money cost expensive £7-8 per wraithguard.
total unit cost will be atleast 275pts with a basic kitted waveserpent. use them right the could kill anything.

Or, for those 275 pts, you could almost afford two, ten man squads of Dire Avengers with Exarchs packing 2xAvenger Shuriken Catapults and Bladestorm.
Or 6 Warwalkers with 2x Shuriken Cannons and have points left over.
Or a 10man of Scorps with Exarch packing SP/Biting Blade and 5 Harlequins with a Fusion Pistol.
Wraithguard are expensive, and there's no bones about that. You can get more bang from cheaper units that also have a higher chance of working properly.

Your choice of units depends on whether you want to buy a few models (for money reasons) or be willing to invest in more models in return for the ability to make better lists. Wraithguard look great, but they're too expensive to be practical in a lot of situations; they're fire magnets. Eldar are an interesting list; you can do a lot with baseline units; Cale gets his advice from seeing how I use my Eldar. If you like Warwalkers, that's a great start; they're amazing units, especially if used with Shuriken Cannons; 40 points a walker. That's where the budget comes in, because you can get great lists with a lot of them, but they're expensive in dollars.

Im an old Necron player, and with the leap since 3rd edition into 5th edition. And I must say, with the new rules, my Necrons SUCK major....Seriously, and with this, it caused me to start looking into other armies...And thus, with stories following and with my style...And now, I have stumbled upon the Eldar...MY GOD! VARIETY! WEAPON CHOICES, ITS ALL TOO MUCH TO TAKE! God I LOVE it!
So, as a NEW Eldar player with NO experience with them/nothing aside from the codex bought, and most likely buying the battle pack, are there any suggestions for a new eldar player/tips?
God I LOVE the Farseer in the center here. It's prob what made me choose the Eldar aside from the story/fluff...

Don't be afraid to post them in here, too. My advice is coming second hand and from the little experience I have playing them. DE is a great player.

Games Workshop actually cares about the Eldar.
That said, the Dark Eldar as a race split off from the main Eldar at the time of the Fall (the birth of Slaanesh, if you didn't know). They continued to embrace the hedonistic lifestyle that had birthed Slaanesh, while finding a means of keeping themselves alive. Their leader at the time of the fall, one called the Prince (named by Asdrubael Vect) created their home of Cormorragh within the Webway, hidden away from everything. Eventually, one of the Archons (I think it was actually Vect, the baddest of the Archons) discovered a means of capturing and devouring the souls of victims to nourish himself. The already piratical and destructive Dark Eldar began taking captives for more than sport, then.
As far as the Codices go, the Dark Eldar are a fast hit and go race that are supposed to specialize in lightning raids against their enemies. Darklances are the same as Brightlances. S8 AP(2?) and all armor with a value higher than 12 becomes 12.
If you have more questions, there's a thread for them in this subforum.

Simply put Eldar are the dicks in white with shiny weapons and Dark Eldar are the dicks in black with spiky weapons. The Eldar in bright colours are Harlequins.

Lt. Brookman Simply put Eldar are the dicks in white with shiny weapons and Dark Eldar are the dicks in black with spiky weapons. The Eldar in bright colours are Harlequins. DAMN STRAIGHT WE ARE!!!
And as for the comment about "Care", yeah, that is another reason I switched was due to how it seemed Necrons were not as cared about on GW side, but Eldar on the other hand seem to actually be a race that is well maintained.
After reading the codex over, I gotta say I LOVE their "fluff", especially Yriel's backstory. I am right now purchasing A Eldar battlepack, A Striking scorpion set, A set of rangers, and a Farseer squad. I cannot WAIT to get the Harliquens or the Dark Reapers, since they honestly make me SO happy to see those units.
