Lin couldn't help but chuckle a bit, because it looked like the two were quite into the design planning. She supposed it was more complicated than anyone else in the family had realized.
"This might take a while," Lin murmured softly up to her husband.

"We could always ask how long it's going to be," Earendil suggested. "Or if he could come back another time. It could also be that they're just so into it that they lost track of time."
He looked back at Andarien and the jeweler. "Would you like me to do it?" he asked her.

It seemed a shame to interrupt them, but it would be nice to know how long it would be.

Earendil nodded and stepped towards the two who were deep in conversation. He put one hand on Andarien's back.
The boy looked up at Earendil and grinned. "Look, Ada! He's going to make it all pretty too!"
The jeweler looked flustered. "I apologize, my lord. We were trying out different designs and I'm afraid were got a bit lost in it."

Lin couldn't help but grin at that, she had nothing against it. It was nice that Andarien was sharing his passion with someone.
Miyuki looked over onto the counter to see the designs, she did think they were quite pretty.
"Very pretty," she murmured.

Andarien grinned and pointed at the various designs.
"Master Rolitar designed these ones," he explained, pointing at images of gears with celtic, floral and animal designs. Then he pointed at another diagram of gears with more steampunk designs. "These are the ones I made."

Miyuki had to admit, she hadn't thought of the gears themselves having designs. She wondered if this meant there would be a way to see inside of the clockwork. Of course, that was the way Andarien's egg was made (if it was made seeing as he was born from it).
"That would be neat to see those gears move," Miyuki murmured.

Andarien's eyes grew wide, and he looked up at the jeweler. Before he could speak, the jeweler smiled at him.
"I will speak with the glass maker," he assured the boy. "Don't you worry about that."
Andarien beamed. "Thanks for the idea, Mi!"

She hadn't even realized she gave him an idea, but smiled anyways.
"You're welcome."
It made her wonder what other designs could be made, it sounded like the choices were endless.

"Anyways," said the jeweler, looking back at Andarien, "if you come back in three days' time, I'll have these things for you, I think. Then we can try together to make it work right."
"You got it!" Andarien beamed. "See you then!"
He hopped off the chair he was sitting on and grinned up at his parents. "Okay, I'm ready to go," he told them.

Things, somewhat went back to the way it was before. Somewhat because now instead of just working, Miyuki and Andarien were planning on exploring a bit of the island with their cousin. There were also the trips that Andarien had to make back to the jeweler to see about his gears.
There was also the fact Shiro and Naida would be making a trip in with their instruments, and Miyuki wanted to come with. She was still indecisive about wanting to learn another instrument or not. Even with the extra hours in this world, there still didn't seem to be enough hours in a day.
A few days later, Miyuki was preparing to go out again with Andarien. It was nice to not have to wait for their parents every time they wanted to go somewhere.

Aranxia had accepted the invitation to accompany Miyuki and Andarien, and on her way to Miyuki's room to let her know that she was ready she ran into Andarien, who was just leaving his own room.
"Good morning," she greeted him with a smile.
"Morning!" Andarien beamed. "You got all your stuff?"
Aranxia giggled. Andarien was cute when he was excited. "Yes. And you?"
Andarien wrinkled his nose. "A bit. I'd've brought more but I can't fit too much in my pockets." He bounded ahead of his cousin and knocked on Miyuki's door. "Mi! We're ready to go!" he called.

Miyuki opened her door to see both her brother and cousin there. She greeted the two of them happily.
"Just let me grab my bag," she told them as she ducked out of sight for a moment to pick up her bag.
It might not be needed to carry a bag, but one never knew. She also had to remind herself to tuck in a scroll and grab her staff. She exited her room and waited for Ai to follow before closing the door behind her.

Andarien eyed Miyuki's staff as they started towards the stairs. "Does that mean I should bring my bow, too?" he asked. "Just in case or something?"
He didn't really want to. Even though he minded the bow less than other weapons, he still didn't like to use it.

Miyuki looked thoughtfully as she looked to her staff. Really she was bringing it along because she thought it would be good for her to get use to such things. It was also nice to have a weapon she was at least decent at.
"I don't know, I just thought I should get into the habit of bringing it with me."
