It gives them a good story to talk about when they get home. Anyway, what have you been up to over the Solstice? Is it cold over your way at the moment?

It's cold, but not as cold as I expected, because it's nice and sunny. I'm just dealing with family drama right now (my sister hit a rough patch) and trying to write off and on. Other than that, not much hehe. How have you been?

Well my grandmother's now in rehabilitation and she's getting better everyday. We found a tiny little Xmas tree to take for her to cheer her up. Other than that I've been frustrated at my online course...it's so stupid. But the weather's nice and warm so I'm happy.

Well I'm looking into starting at my local community college. Excitement! whee Also, thanks to my new kindle, I've gotten at least as much read this year as I did last, if not more. I'm also experimenting with things to do and make so I can start selling some stuff too. *double wee* What I'm looking at making right now are lotion bar tins, and various easy peasy knit stuff. I'm even looking at spinning to make stuff to sell. *triple wee* It's gonna take more experimenting to see what works, and to get down official ways of doing things so they all more or less turn out the way I want them to, but that shouldn't be too hard. It will at least be fun, as it's all stuff I enjoy. ^_^

That sounds awesome. I recieved a commission last year to make a friend a cloak and it's by far the most complicated thing I've sewn so far mainly because she wants it to be dual layer...with the second layer on the OUTSIDE... eek ...the lace was so expensive...I'll post a picture eventually though.

Well, the colours look awesome. The velvet base is a bright jewel red and the lace is black with these gorgeous roses. Regardless of if I stuff up the sewing or not, the colours will look stunning and hopefully distract from my woeful attempt at a professional commission.

That DOES sound awesome.
Ugh, I hate early morning high blood sugars. Especially when I can't find purse so I can take insulin...

That sucks. My best friend from primary school had diabetes...I always remember having to run down to the canteen to get extra little things to help her bring her blood sugar down (or up).
