Aurora sighed, looking at Caroline, with Altan atop the dragon. It seemed that the girl did not wish to wake up just yet... Well, Aurora figured she could give her some extra time. She would just write a letter--yes, a letter would be nice. One to Crush; she hadn't heard from him in a while. She would have Altan deliver the letter.
Picking up a pen and a piece of paper, she wrote.
Dearest Crush,
Hello. How are you? Has life been treating you well? I do hope so.
I have much to tell you. So many things have been happening at Bai Ching--I do not know if I should be telling you quite everything. For this reason, do burn this letter thoroughly when you have finished.
I suppose I should start with Altan. Altan is the Sphinx who brought you my letter--as with the burning, this was only for safety measures. I hope you two get along--I thought you would. Please, if you wish to mention some of the following subjects, have Altan deliver your letter to me.
Anyway, Altan, as I have said, is a Sphinx. At a new class in Bai Ching on the handling and caring of familiars, he chose me. You know that I do not believe in things like love at first sight, but I do not know how else to describe it. However, I do not find myself in love with Altan, but I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to say.
Altan is very kind, and very intelligent. He almost reminds me of you, but he is much more talkative. I must say that it is nice to have someone to keep me company, although that may not be such a problem anymore. I have been assigned a roommate; her name is Caroline Enlil. She is a dragon, and most certainly entertaining. I have made some other friends as well--a girl named Evermore, the hanyou Akira, and another girl named Ari. I suppose you may be able to count Ares and Aphrodite in that group, and perhaps even Musica, but I have not spoken much with them.
How familiar are you with Greek mythology? I, personally, know very little of it, but apparently at least some of it is quite true. (This is why I will need you to burn my letter. I am trusting you to keep everything completely secret. Please do not betray me.) Evermore is a Fury, and Ares and Aphrodite are the Ares and Aphrodite--God of War and Goddess of Love. It...is quite unusual, to be perfectly honest. They actually seem very normal, if you ask me. I am not sure what to make of all this just yet.
On another note, have you heard from home recently? Please do write back soon!

Satisfied, she beckoned Altan over and sent him off to Crush to deliver her letter. Then she sighed and set off to find Evermore.
She found the girl quickly, arguing (apparently) with Akira.undefined

Ever groaned and shook her head. "I... I didn't mean to make him sound that way. And it was the first day of school, I hadn't meditated, and I was really angry and frustrated at everything. So, I said stuff out of anger that I shouldn't have. Ares is still an egotistical jackass... that has moments of kindness."
Then, the bell to signal the students that the first class would be started soon rang. Ever groaned again and quickly went into the meditation room. No one was in there anymore, though. The new girl had slipped out at some point without Ever seeing her. Well, hopefully she'll be be in a class with Ever so that she could talk to her more.
She quickly picked up her back in the corner of the room and then left the room. Then, with one more glance toward Akira, she raced off to her first class.

Trent heard the bell to the classes toll and leapt off the roof where he perched and took flight heading towards an open window on the opposite side of the courtyard he was watching. He quickly bridged the gap between him and the window and at the last second turned into a mouse which launched him through the window to the top of a bookshelf in the classroom before the first students had entered.

{{So, moving to 3 PM in the story now, since that's when the Familiars class is. Other storylines, like Lin and Ophi and Musica and Ari don't have to move forward yet. Take your time! biggrin }}
So, it was 3 now. Time for Familiars 101. Ever could see as she walked down to the class near the forest that everyone around her was excited. She, on the other hand, was nervous. She still had no familiar, and it was becoming disheartening.
Plus, she was still upset about her fight with Akira. She hadn't had a chance to talk with her friend, yet. They couldn't talk in the earlier classes, and Ever had gone to the headmistress's office to try and read a little in the large tome that she assumed was supposed to help reveal the location of the Room. She couldn't focus very well on it, though.
Emerson had finally made it to the class area and sat down on one of the tree stumps that served as a class chair with a sigh.

Aurora had, inadvertently, followed Evermore to the class though she hadn't noticed the other girl ahead of her until she was making to sit down. "Hello, Evermore," she greeted. "How are you today?"
Altan was still not with her. She imagined that he was waiting on Crush--after all, she had rather expected for Crush to not be in his room, and if he was, he would not have had time to write a response to her. She did not expect a letter back until that night--and even if there was no letter, she expected Altan to be back.

Musica brought the hand gripping his own to his lips. He placed a soft and delicate kiss upon her knuckles, filled with pure affection and intimacy. "For you I shall do what I can, but over the years I have forgotten to let him out. It only happens when I feel intense emotion, such as anger. And love as well as I've seen lately." He ran his thumb over her fingers as he looked at her hand, marveling at this naive and innocent contact between her and him. Even if she did not feel it he could sense the intensity within the touch, the need and the craving. Perhaps it was all his own, who knew?

Ever looked up when she heard Aurora's voice and smiled in relief at her. She hadn't seen her all day! Her mere presence was already cheering her up.
"Eh, I'm alright. Didn't get to finish meditating today, had a fight with Akira, and now I'm in a class that has relevance with me since I still do not have a familiar. I might never have one. And you?"
She smiled and laughed softly at her her words and the nonchalant tone in which she said them.

Ari’s face flushed as he brought his lips to her hand. ”Alright,” she said, smiling gently, ”I’ll think on it, and then we’ll try to get your emotion back, minus Nik.” This kiss on her hand was powerful, she felt his gaze upon her. It was intense, and her hand trembled slightly. Suddenly Ari jerked. ”Oh my gosh! What time is it? I need to get back to school, or I’m gonna get it!” she groaned, not really wanting to leave.

Trent followed after the crowd, which was easier said then done sine the teacher of the class he was in closed the window. After an endless shuffle through feet he found himself in the outer brush of the forest. Where are they going? He asked himself as he turned into a fox leaping up to the top branches of a tree, Then turning into a hawk to watch where the line of students was heading too.

Musica frowned as he opened his phone to check the time, ignoring the multitude of texts. It was quite late actually, and Bo and Luli had already left to go back to their shift at the school. "It appears to be about 3:00 P.M. Is there something in particular going on at this time?" Musica didn't want her to leave, in fact he wished she'd just spend the night here with him. Whether or not anything serious happened

"Well, nothing really... but I skipped classes to go here. That, and I promised Evermore if I wasn't back by two, she had every right to come looking for me. She didn't really want me to go, but I'm a rebel so..." she shrugged, then sighed. "I have to get back on my room in case they check on me. You want to come back with me? I've been reading up on optic nerves and surgeries, trying to figures out how to get my sight," she said.
