Any plans were dashed as his heart spoke for him. Damian, heart racing and hands shaking just a bit, gently scooted her to sit on the armchair. As he stood, he seemed rather giddy. "Hold on to that thought. Just.. hold on to it." He gave her a smile before dashing off in his pajamas to his room, where he fished out a box from his one dresser drawer, hidden underneath his dress pants. The box was small and black, plain compared to what was inside. In a wink, he was back to the library, where Raquel was still seated on the armchair, giving him that quizzical look when he was up to something. "Raquel," he said, voice shaking on her name. Damian Centurion went down on one knee in front of her, and took her hand in his. Silver eyes sparkled like the diamond he revealed from the box. An engagement ring."Would you spend an eternity with me?" Damian's poor heart was racing faster than ever as he stayed in his engagement stance. "I love you, Raquel. You are worth more than all the Ball Rooms and notoriety... You are the only reason for my real happiness. The money, everything, it can go, so long as I have you. Would you marry me? Will you, Raquel?"

Raquel was left dumbfounded in the arm chair as he dashed off, cocking her head, wondering what on earth he was planning now.
When he returned, he was paler than usual, only a very apparent blush giving him any color. He shook terribly, in a way that was foreign to Raquel she was worried somehting was wrong until he came to one knee. The gesture alone made Raquel's heart feel as if it were exploding, as tears overflowed without her knowledge.
She couldn't speak for a moment, jstu staring down at the beautiful, beautiful ring... it was something so dazzling to her, somehting not even her biggest childhood dreams could fathom. "D-...Da-" She seemed utterly speechless, having trouble breathing as it was now her turn to join him in the shaking.
Her trembling worsened as she finally blinked out of her shock, realizing she had left him in this terrible silence. "Y-Yes!" She gasped so suddenly, she scared even herself, falling off the chair, onto her knees as well, joining Damian on the floor, as she let her heart, soul, and body collide with Damians. "Dear God yes! Yes, Yes, Yes, YES!" She cried, breaking out into hysterics as she laughed and cried all at the same time, clinging to him.

He caught her as she fell towards him, hand still clasped around the opened box. She'd said... yes! The very idea sent him into the same odd laughter laced with tears as he thought of everything that they could think of now. No more what if's and if we're still together's. She had said yes...
"Raquel! Raquel Centurion, what an elegant name!" Despite his tremblings, he placed the ring on her finger. The stone was tinged just the slightest green. Not the green of her eyes, but the color alone made him think of her and her lovely eyes. "Look at me, I'm crying! One word and you've sent me into tears." He held her so close as they sat on the ground, so close that he thought he might squeeze the loveliness right out of her.

Raquel laughed and cried with him, trying to hug him as tightly back, but found her arms were too weak and shaky from excitement to do much of anything. Between her giggles and tears, she managed to speak, her voice as shaky as the rest of her. "I-I'm af-fraid to say I c-couldn't be h-happier, for f-fear you'd have another surpise!" She alughed, trying to pull away to look at him. "And I d-don't know if m-my poor little heart can take much more happiness without m-making my heart utterly explode!" She laughed and smiled so widely, her green eyes blurry with tears as she just looked at him.
She pressed her forehead to his, trying to be gentle despite wanting to just grasp him tightly. "....Raquel Centurion..." She tried it on for herself, chocking up a bit more. "Damian and Raquel Centurion....God...This is...all so perfect..." She closed her eyes, her hands coming up to cup his face.

Damian took a big breath and said with just as much happiness, "I got us tickets to the music festival starting tomorrow!" He again was just so happy that any quirk upon her face sent him into happy laughter. Hearing her say her future name, though, was something he'd never forget. "I was going to propose there, but... I couldn't wait."

Raquel burst into more laughter, trying to wiper her eyes, finding it futile. "I'm almsot glad you didn't! What a mess we'd be in front of all those people!" She laughed, looking up at him with eyes that just radiated happiness. Though her face and smile all softened, as she kept his face in her hands. Slowly, gently, she brought him in for a kiss, one filled with as much passion as her little trembling body could muster at the time. She wanted him to taste how happy she was.
Perhaps she was simply that happy, or her Amarathian side kicked in, but either ways something wonderful happened. She literally felt a surge between them. A deep wonderful whirlwind of emotion, that was filled only with each others happiness and love. No pain in sight. No bad memories or doubts. Just simply... them. It was such a surreal feeling, it made Raquel light headed but she didn't dare break away. She figured this was why Armathians were always rumored to be such wonderful lovers, as well as have such strong relationships... much like their little enemies back on Altru.

Damian didn't have that direct connection to Raquel, but he did feel what she wanted him to know. He shifted so that his back was laying against the armchair for support as the held her close and kissed her back with as much passion as she was putting into it. Their future looked so bright. When they were ready, they'd move to Druis where the air was cleaner and things were green and taken care of. Raquel would be better of there, and so would he... It was all just so beautiful that the idea of a wedding completely escaped him.

This last for several more moments, until finally Raquel broke away gently. Eyes till shut, she laid her head on his chest, breathing heavily and jstu holding onto him for dear life. "I love you...." She managed to whisper this simple phrase. This little group of words they had both shared countless times with each other. But now... it was so much more real. Realer than when she thought it was a real love before. It was, just unsure and unsteady with the future. Slightly insecure and fleeting or so the two had thought at the beginning. This was... Love. Something Raquel had read about or been told stories about at a young age. Never somehting she was told or believed she could ever have.
Damian...Damian Centurion. A rich pompous a** who she had heard of many times, seen on tv or in papers, never paid any mind too... He was her 'soul mate' if there were such a thing. The one man she had been waiting for to rip her out of the gutter and give her what she needed and deserved.
She had changed him too. She saw this in many ways, some more subtle than others, but all for the better. She had a sense of pride in that, but was still so thankful to him as well...

He rested his cheek against her head, eyes closed. The house was quiet. Richard and Lorey were on another planet entirely, doing who knew what, but he knew Lorey must have been elated with the house Richard had been given. Lucky b*****d, he thought. Just like him, the lucky one who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and was going to marry someone who was lucky to have a faux silver ring from a coin machine.
Speaking of which, he was wearing that ring that she had given him on a chain about his neck. He pulled that out from underneath his shirt to show her in their little silence.

Raquel felt his movement, opening her eyes slightly to see what he was pulling out from under his shirt. I was that silly little silver ring she had given him what felt like so long ago. She was shocked, to say the least, that he had it this long. She lifted her delicate little fingers around his so she could told it herself. after a moment, she brought it closer, gingerly pressing her lips over the small ring for a kiss, before letting it go, just simply holding on to Damian's hand after that.

"I don't think I'll ever be without it." There was still that happy buzz in the air as they sat in understanding silence like the rest of the house. He hadn't imagined things would happen like this while Richard and Lorey were away, but it was better without the great fuss.
Trinity peeked her head around the corner and eyed them up carefully. Her little head rubbed against the door frame as if she was trying to honor them with her grand entrance, on all three legs.

Raquel hardly noticed their guest, simply smiling so lightly, lifting he head so her nose was against the ottom of his chin. It was only when the small feline managedto saunter up close enough, rubbing against them both, that Raquel took note.
She didn't want to move from her lovely position, curled up in Damian's arms, so so happy, but allowed her hand to come down to pet the little cat on the head. But that wasn't enough for Trinity. She somehow manged to leap and squeeze herself right between the couple, purring loudly as she rubbed against her two 'parents'.

"An ex-street girl, an ex-pompous rich a**, and a three legged cat... We make a perfect family." He felt tired, elated and sure of himself. A dangerous combination sometimes, but he didn't really care.
"Do you think Richard and Lorey are alright?" he asked softly. "I haven't heard anything from them."

At that Raquel laughed softly. "That we do..." She sighed, shaking her head. Though to the comment concerning Richard and Lorey, she looked up. "And I think it just means they're doing just fine..." She assured, rubbing Trinity's back lovingly, as she seemed to purr and stretch. Though thinking of Lorey and Richard made something come to mind. "Should we keep this quiet? I mean, until after their married? I don't want to detract any attention or whatever from their special day, and this is their time to. to plan and be a cute little engaged couple..." She furrowed her brow thinking about it, looking to Damian.

"Yes... that would be a good plan. Especially because if Lorey or Richard ever said anything about it to the wrong person, our happiness would be on the tabloids in a heart beat. I'm not really a celebrity, but it's news enough."
Damian sorted through Trinity's one paw to get a bit of string out from her toes. "You're being lazy on your feet, miss," he said, wiggling his own toes.
