Garin tried to keep them calm. He began to lead them back into town.

Sanvi dropped Aquaria's arm to keep up her facade. Aquaria finally began to calm down as Garin calmed. Her vitals returned to normal and she relaxed her grip of his arm.

Garin continued to walk with them, but froze when he felt something zoom by his cheek. He could tell the man who had noticed them before was behind them.

Sanvi swore in her demon tongue as something flew past Garin and Aquaria. Aquaria grabbed onto Garin's arm and whimpered in fear.  

[Cecily D Aria]

"It's been a while," a deep, almost menacing male voice said from behind them.
Garin slowly turned around to see the man from before. He kept himself between this man and Aquaria.
"You're were a lot younger the last time I saw you, of course," the man added.

Sanvi growled in response and moved to get on Aquaria's side, since Garin had spun her around.
Aquaria looked at Garin, then at the man. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded.

"No one of importance to you," the man said to Aquaria. "Unless you're in this vampire's company without knowing what he is. Then I may be something."
Garin bared his teeth at the man.

Sanvi couldn't take it anymore. She stepped forward boldly and demanded, "Tell me who you are, sir." She guessed he was a vampire, since he knew what Garin was.

"Oh, and a demon," the man said, looking to Aquaria. "You do keep strange company for someone like you."
"What do you want?" Garin demanded.
"I just wanted to see how you've grown up," the man replied, causally.

Aquaria's eyes dilated in fear. Who were these men to trail Garin here, just under the pretense of checking up on him. She gripped onto his arm and stared at the man.
Sanvi moved forward a little more, to get closer to Aquaria. She had two options of what these men were. Either they were vampires, just coming to check on Garin, or they were vampire hunters, like the ones he had mentioned killed his family, coming to finish the job.

Garin started to look more vampiric. "I don't even know you! What the hell do you want from he!" he yelled.
"I also wanted to see if this still works," the man replied. He pulled a stone out of his pocket. It started to glow, faintly.
Garin looked confused, but then he fell to his knees, crying out. He felt like his back was being split open.

Aquaria dropped Garin's arm, screaming. She charged forward at the man, Sanvi at her heels. "What have you done to him?" she demanded as white wings burst from her back. In her rage, she was starting to lose control of her magic, and a wave spilled forward towards the man.

The man pulled out a kinfe. "I would be very careful," he said and scratched the stone with the knife.
Garin cried out and curled up, trembling.

Aquaria dove at the man, trying to get the stone. Whatever it was had to be tied very closely to Garin.
Sanvi had since fallen back. She knelt by Garin, holding him like a baby, and whispering to him in her demonic language, trying to calm him. Finally she gave up and decided to chance her curse abilities. She got halfway through one before she collapsed, still holding Garin.

Garin looked up at Sanvi when she started to whisper to him. He looked like a frightened child. Then he tremblde when she collasped.
The man put the stone away when Aquaria got close and tried to grab hold of her. he was fast like a vampire, but he had a heart beat, unlike a vampire.
