"You need help learning to walk?" X23 asked incredulously, shaking her head a bit. "I... Sure, Mother. I'll help."
Elasa, smiling benignly, looked to Kesshou and gave her a bow in greeting.

Oracle nodded to Kesshou, "Alright, we'll be right down," then turning back to X-23, "And thank you. I know the muscles in my legs work, but right now the only thing I can do reliably is wiggle my toes."
Songbird's sharp ears picked up Keshou's announcement which snapped her out of her reverie. Standing up, Melissa walked over to join the other ladies, "Sounds like 'Meeting Time', mind if I join you?"

Kesshou nodded to Songbird. "Of course. While not everyone needs to know the details, for fear of chaos, I know you have a pretty level head on your shoulders."
She then waited for Oracle and Garth to get ready.

As Songbird, Oracle and X-23 followed Kesshou into the X-Men War Room, Songbird looked around the room and then gazed at one of the computer displays, "Okay, so what 'Spandex Wearing Fruitloop' are we going after now?"

"Whoever it is, I assume they'll be as easy as the chumps at Long Island. Seriously, I didn't even break a sweat out there..." X23 replied to Songbird, walking beside Babs as they entered the War Room. Elasa followed behind them, and as she entered the War Room her eyes went wide at the advanced technology around her.

Kesshou sat down at the front of the table for the first time and smiled wide for a moment. It wasn't long before she got serious again. "Well we've found out that Striker is backing the I.O. corporation in this new Gen 13 project. Their goal is to abduct children of known mutants and train them to be their personal weapons. Honestly it has Striker... and Sinister... written all over it."
She sighed. "Which means the next time they try something they're going to expect X-Men and we might just have to deal with sentinels."

"Leave any Sentinels to me," X23 said to Kesshou. "I've been downing Sentinel-class mechs since I was six."

Oracle turned to ask Kesshou, "Who is this 'Striker'?"
Songbird glanced over the array of computer screens open, paying close attention to the photos displayed of some of the personel and the equipment. Melissa's green eyes narrowed as a suspicion flared in her mind, "A government coverup targeting kids that may or may not have powers? This smells of Gyrich, that pencil-pushing p***k despises supers and would like nothing more than to remove all of us from the gene pool."

Kesshou pulled up a picture of Striker and a file on the man. "He doesn't want to wipe us out. He thinks of us as tools that need to learn our place."
She sighed again and stared at the others. "In his mind we're not even worthy to be called dirt, but we're useful enough to keep alive."

Garfield was surprised that Oracle so suddenly gained the ability to move her muscles again. If she needed help, he would help if she wanted. But it seemed that there was plenty of people for that. For now he had to take leadership of his Titans and be responsible for the time being. He walked up to the computers and pulled up some of the info that would confirm that Striker indeed was part of this.
"Sounds bad... I think that top priority now is saving our own people, and those kids at this base."
Garfield pointed to the bases general location in the Nevada desert. He wasn't the leader of these people, but he wanted to state his opinion before anyone else started.

Apex, for his part, had intended to move to another part of the base; somewhere quiet, where he could think. Instead, he found himself following Oracle into the War Room, and he noticed as he approached that Beast Boy and the others were talking about a man named "Striker" and, strangely, Kesshou's description of Striker's view on metahumans seemed, to Apex at least, be similar to how Deathstroke viewed... well, everyone. He trusted no-one, formed no attachments. He viewed people as assets or obstacles to whatever goal he was set for.
Was that how Apex would be? He reached into his pocket for the locket he had, but he remembered that he had given it to Oracle... and he looked to her, still utterly silent.
He still couldn't quite understand why she was so willing to help him attempt to locate his mother and not ask for any sort of payment... especially after his entrance and the stand-off earlier. He thought about his conversation with Nightshade. Wasn't part of being a Marine being prepared to sacrifice your life to protect innocents? And he had said he wasn't the kind of guy to do that. After all, why would someone do that for him?

Both Oracle and Songbird noted Apex's entrance but said nothing to him yet. Oracle noted the apparent conflict in Apex's mind, filing the observation back for later reflection. The redhead in the wheelchair rolled to one of the computer terminals, "It sounds like we're going to need more intel on this base that I.O. took great pains to hide.... Can you bring up the estimate of how many kids these guys have I.O. scooped up? I have an idea of how to narrow down where that base is."Melissa's eyes widened slightly, she had an idea what Oracle was thinking. She'd seen Fixer and Hawkeye do something similar to track down a base, "Right.... If they have all these kids, they'll have to feed them and their personel. Is that what you're thinking?" Babs turned her head toward Songbird smiling, "Bingo. The easiest and cheapest way to supply a 'government' base would be through big trucks -- semis. For the last twenty of so years, all semis are lowjacked. It will take some time, but though a process of elimination. By noting what trucks are not supplying stores, hotels, markets, etc, I think I can figure out what supplies are going in this base -- and we'll get an idea about the size of the complex."

Kesshou looked past everyone to Apex. "What do you think we should do, and how should we go about it?"
Despite the argument she had with the man earlier, she felt that the best action to take was to show trust right now. He had said earlier that he had been a part of the armed forces, he'd know a thing or two about strategy.
She then looked to Oracle. "There's another way. We said it was near Las Vegas. correct? I could ride a current to the city and detect where a large concentration of energy is."

Apex blinked, looking to Kesshou.
"Why are you asking me?" he asked her, evading the question-- and she would likely realize it. "I have no stake in this..."
