"Well now, what exactly is this all about again?" Feral ask.

"It has to do with a man named Kyle Fhaytei," Mystic said from her position across the room.

"Your last name, I assume he's related?" Feral asked again.

"My older brother," Mystic said and paused. "And it would seem, the mystery lover from Tara's past and the father of her children."

Feral let out a low whistle as she said, "Small world huh?"

"So it seems," Mystic agreed before she continued. "The way my brother died seems to be of some concern to more than a few, including myself. He was powerful, more so than most could hope to be. Yet during the time of his death he was powerless, and no one can point a finger as tho whom or what could have done it. I however may have a possible lead. A man, if that is true what he was, used to talk to my brother many years ago. This person is the only person I can think of that might have had the power to do what I think was done."

"And so you've come to Naomi to get a living portrait for Tara then?" Feral said as she stood from her crouched position. "Seems like a good idea."

"We're clear outside," said a large man in armor with a large axe slung across his back. He was quite tall, having to duck to not hit his head on the door frame. Making the small young woman behind him seem even smaller.

"Thank you Spartan," Feral said with a bow of her head. "Naomi, I need you to paint what Kayla is going to show you."

The smaller woman nodded as Kayla strode over to her. She took out a small pen and cut her palm about 2 inches across. A strange, multicolored slightly vicious liquid began to seep from her palm, much like ink, but thicker.

Naomi put her hand on the wall as Kayla put her hand of her head. For a moment nothing happened. Then the ink/blood that was dripping down the wall began to move on its own, drawing the portrait of tall, young looking man with a strong tan and ghostly white hair.

After a few more seconds the man stepped off the wall and stood for all to see, as lifelike as any of them, but completely still.

Feral visibly stiffed at the sight of the image and said, "Him."

All three of the others in the room looked at Feral as she said that and Mystic said, "You know this man?"

"Yes, from a very, very long time ago."

"You speak of before you became what you are?" Mystic asked quickly.

"Yes, though you three know what I truly am you do not know all of how it came to be," Feral said, talking about the subject seeming to physically make her ill.

"If it were not for this man and his companions the world would likely be overrun by xenothropes. Not just Lychans or Vampires, a multitude of animal aspects originally existed and would have run rampant in the early ages of man, there would likely be no one left who did not carry some form of our disease."

"When the deadly contagion overran my tribe those thousands of years ago we prayed to your gods." Feral scoffed at this, "Our 'gods' it turned out were real, but not so much gods as immature immortals looking for things to amuse them and too much power for their own good and little to no restraint.

"So that 'saved' us you might say. They mutated the virus, it stayed just as contagious but it changed from deadly to curse. We transformed into half man, half animals with just as much power and lack of control as animals.

"There were those of us that feared it and those of us that reveled in it. they went out to spread this new 'gift' to the world. I was not one of them. I was terrified of what I had become, and what I did every night when I fell asleep."

"So he---they came to me. I thought I had known gods before but these beings, they were far beyond what any of our legends made a god to be. Altering reality was nothing to them. That man, with the white hair; if he wanted he could do things far beyond the scope of mortal imagination. However he is restricted by something. Be it a code or be it an eve higher power I do not know but much of what he wishes to do in this world and others, even if it be for good, he is forbade to do, at least directly."

Feral sighed and continued. "So I made a deal, for a price he could expend a piece of his power to help me. How steep the price determined how much he could do, some sort of equivalent exchange you might say. So I asked for the power to do away with the gods that had cursed us and not to be at the will of my animal side."

"He did so, but the price was that it would be my responsibility to rid the world of these god's work. I would gain the ability to extract the curse int he same way that many spread it. I would be the container for their misdeeds."

"This man, who ever he is," Feral said as she locked her gaze with Mystic. "There is a good chance that your brother made a deal with him and the price was his power, however much he had would have been nothing but a drop in the bucket to this group. And what ever his wish or deal, it may well have to done with Tara. Her history before that time was very dark and trouble. Perhaps he did more than just change her outlook through their relationship."

Mystic looked troubled as she said, "This man is definitely everything I had feared he was then. Let us hope that if we should ever find him that he be as easy to talk to as it seems. He is the person with the answers for us at the moment."

"Mystic you and Spartan still have business in Africa, and Artist is heading to Mexico to help out one of the ex-omega survivors, Carbon; with the drug trade there. We've been nailing them hard and with the absence of Nix and Mongoose I don't want them thinking we have let them up for air. However I will head to this Fahrenheit city myself and make sure this information is given to Tara herself."

Feral tapped the matter compression disk on her waist and it opened. The Artist gave a wave or her hand and the portrait gain a solid sheen to it as it seemed to become more like a statue. Feral grabbed it and fed it into the device.

"May we all meet again soon," Feral said, to which they all nodded and left through different exits.

"Well, things just keep getting more interesting these days," Feral said as she began to run at top speed through the dense forest and across the England land scape towards where her transport was hidden.

“Yeah alright kid… lead away I’m right behind you!” Laura responded to David then turned to Angela. Poor little kid, wonder how she got so hurt? “Um, do you want me to carry you? I’ll even go piggy back if you like.” Laura smiled trying her best to be sensitive to Angela, yet her tone was clearly rushed.

Angela looked up at Laura as if to size her up and after a few moments decided she was ok. David led the group down the hall to the stairwell and up to the next floor and down to a room. He pounded on the door twice before Tessa answered, dressed in a bathing suit. "What?" She took in the stares and felt the need t explain herself. "I had to change to a outfit that produced the smallest amount of static electricity."

"Actually...I'm not sure. I mean..my boss wanted me to go up there" Gabe said as he pointed at the giant mountain behind him. " I think I should call her soon to explain why I'm not up there. I just hope she doesn't turn my car into lead" he said with a sigh

Tessa stared at Laura for a moment and then her mind jumped into gear. "First thing, grab my cell and call Danny for me. I'll short it out if I try. Tell him to get over here right now. I have a feeling who did this but I need to check the scene for clues."

"Making a show out it?" Orion said as he and Scope approached Libra, seeming to slip out of the shadows as they exited the nearest crack between buildings.

"I think you my be over doing it with the whole jumping out the window thing," Scope said, backing up her partner's dry humor. There was a pause and then she turned slightly and let of a controlled 3 bullet burst from her compact auto, aimed across the street. It took out the knee of a man using a slim jim break into a car.

"So, looks like there are still a few locals around to help out with this mess," Orion said as they stopped within a few meters of Libra. "How did it happen that you weren't up at the mountain with the rest of local capes?"

Orion paused for a second and then finished, "You can call me Orion, and my partner goes by Scope."

"Now why would your boss need to know what was going on up there?" Jason said, curious. "Are you part of some vigilantly group as well?"
