do I have to separate you Two?

You would think that two adults would have better ways to solve their problems then slugging it out.

That's very enlightening, Caitlin. It's all just so delusional that I'm not entirely sure where to start, but I suppose I ought to start at the beginning.

The only reason I'm going to tolerate that spew of propaganda, is the same reason I tolerate Canadians talking about American politics; you're not from where I'm from. You're from Earth 32 or whatever they've designated it this week. I get that.

But the thing is that this nexus has been inhabited, or rather popularly frequented for four years, and I've only briefly visited until recently and during my absence, there's been quite the influx of my enemies, who have seen to it that my character has been thoroughly destroyed in the mean time.

Yes, I did have to make some difficult decisions that led to using tactics I felt were necessary at the time, most of which I regret now. I look in the mirror sometimes Caitlin, and I'm not sure what looks back. I let myself lose sight of the human element of the equation and let myself see them all as pieces on a chessboard. I told myself that it was for their own good, that only I had the perspective and will to see it through.

I was right in that something needed to change, but I was wrong in how I did it and as a result my closest friend was killed and my enemies have scrambled to paint me in his blood. I will not be tried and convicted here, and I will not be tried and convicted here by men and women who were not there to see what happened.

You're young and naive, Caitlin. That much is painfully obvious, and I'll share with you a bit of the value of the perspective of age. You can never judge a person for what they've done until you've been there. I will accept the judgment of men who have had to grapple with the same problems I have. For instance I don't suppose you were aware that Cosmic Boy felt moved to commit an act of genocide for which he was prosecuted by none other than Matter Eater Lad. We all have blood on our hands to varying degrees here.

*Stands and rubs his eyes in frustration.*

Not off hand, but I agree it doesn't sound particularly good.
