It's hard to get the kind of powerful demon team even high-ranking Summoners ought to have. Also, plots usually say they fail. Is tough, yes.

So the parents of the real Syaoran are the reincarnations of Sakura and Syaoran's clones... clones which couldn't exist had the real ones not already existed... and if the clones didn't already exist, they couldn't be reincarnated to become the parents, and...

Exactly. Good to see you just learning the Tsubasa relationships. xD
Oh, but it gets better. xXxholic involves alternate dimension Tsubasa (Watanuki) who's partially controlling the fates of both the real and cloned Tsubasa to ensure everything acts correctly, and I believe he crosses over at one point. He's simultaneously living the life Tsubasa would have had if not for TIME-F*#$%S.
When they all realize who they are the real Sakura and Syaoran are unexisted, but then the two two reincarnated clones have babies and those babies make them exist again and...blagh. Not to mention the entire series has you follow 'Syaoran', before revealing he's a clone about 2/3rds of the way in and HE'S the fake who ruined the real Syaoran's life, who then kills him, and...blagh. blagh blagh blagh.
That series makes no sense. xD
And Syaoran's main enemy is the Sakurazukimori from the series X.

(Although I think the real answer is that CLAMP wrote stuff, and only realized later that it made no sense whatsoever, maybe because they were distracted with other stuff, and yeah...)

I know they were trying to create a cool plot where the worlds of xxxholic and Tsubasa were connected (since Tsubasa's about them hopping dimensions), buuut...it did not end well. xD
I find it weirder that X, which has nothing to do with Tsubasa though, is intermingled so much. Alternate dimension forms of the main characters of X turn up in almost every world the Tsubasa characters go to. Although I did think it was kind of cool when they went to one where the villain had won the events of X. >_>
<_< But I digress. Also that anime is ooooold.
