"Ah, yes. One moment please" the secretary said and went over to a large filing cabinet. After rummaging through it for a moment, he pulled out a large brown envelope and came back with it. It had Juliana's name on it as well as an official police stamp. "Here you go" he said, handing it to Sami.
Arthur was out on an investigation.
Giovanni was sleeping.
Tony was sleeping as well. He had been on a mission that took all night. Something about kneecapping a guy until he told them some information and then sinking him out deep in the NYC harbor.
One more person who was alseep was Anthony. Oregon was a few hours behind New York and he and Rose didn't have much to do while in witness protection. Not without those agents following them around in out of style clothing.

Laura did her morning stretches, ate breakfast, ect... Afterward, she packed a small bag of things, attached her carbon-manufactured sword to her belt, and left the hotel. She would go touring around the forest to see if she could scout out Anthony and Rose.

"Thank you," she told him, opening the envelope and pulling out her shiny new badge. "Thank you. Thank you so much!" She looked around. "Um... where's my office and when do I start?" "Tell me something that'll change me. I'm gonna love you with my hands tied."

"Well, you don't have a private office, but you have a desk near the front of the station. Follow me" the officer said and led 'Juliana' to her own desk with a bagged police uniform on the top of the desk. A couple days before, they had taken Juliana's measurements in case she was approved.
The desk was right next to Trist's.

Juliana had to fight against squealing. She was seriously, truly excited.
She doubted the police uniform would be flattering though. Would it be a skirt? Or pants?

((Sorry, watched Lord of the Rings, so I'm still in the old European folklore mindset. (and to make it harder, that's my main genera) This may sound a bit off, but bare with me. ))
Laura took a few breaths of the fresh air and walked through the small town. The countryside felt so good compared to the cramped New York City. For some reason that she couldn't describe, she felt alive. There was something adventurous in the air that she never felt in the city, no matter how many missions she went on. She walked to the forest and could almost feel a whisper within the woods, as if everything there was breathing. (Technically the plants would be, but I'm not going there.) Perhaps it was her biologically enhanced instinctive blood that caused this, but she didn't care for the reason. She took a turn about the woods creeping along like a cheery wood sprite or elf, until she finally spotted the guarded the place where Anthony and Rose were staying.

a*****e. She thought bitterly as she sat down and began to inspect her new quarters. Didn't even offer a handshake.
She mentally put his face on the list of those she was going to kill when the s**t hit the fan. She absolutely abhorred rudeness. <******** b*****d. Looks like the ******** secretary's getting too big for his high-heels!
Juliana shifted and looked at the badge again, gazing at the shiny metal; the NYPD crest. She sighed.
Well, the hardest part is over. She thought. Now to make myself a necessity."Tell me something that'll change me. I'm gonna love you with my hands tied."

Laura stretched and walked over to the front of the cabin. "Woah. I didn't know there was a cabin out here." Laura blinked, faking innocence. "Oh! Is this the ranger station?"
