Kae: They weren't able to see any passwords at all, or ban any accounts. It's all passive, they weren't able to do anything. Just post, so it's really not a huge thing.
Gaia is fine, it's too big to be taken down by a group of internet bullies. All they can do is buzz around like gnats, annoying as can be - but basically harmless. With the attention span of the same gnats. They'll phish accounts, post porn and gore, and eventually move on. Their big claim to fame is the panic they can cause in the userbase.
Although I do agree that creating the longcat scarf for the cash shop was probably short-sighted, simply because it creates a lot of panic and extra work for the mods--and really, annoyances no one needs in a place where most people go to forget their RL annoyances for a while.
As long as you keep doing exactly as you have been so far, being careful about links (including any that are PM'd to you) and never giving out your password I think it will be fine.

I'm sad.. and frustrated.. and my computer is still broke and I think I need a new m/b & chip.
And not even my avenging angel avi that I was finally able to change into is making me happy. I should just put on my peasant gear and call it done.
