@chaos & Play: well I know I still want this guild running. Me, Neo, and Kev have been Rping here but there has been Long gaps in between posts ever now and again (like now with over a week waiting on Kev, and the last time they were waiting on me for 2 weeks+). I think we need to see who's all truly wanting to continue this guild, and go from there. I'm willing to put the effort in just-starting this guild if I can have others try this with me.

I hate to say it, but we need more people and we all need to be more active if this guild were to survive. Once a week, two weeks, or further is much too drawn out. Even if we could entice new members, a lot of work Sai promised to do originally was never done. My Academy system needs to be complete ontop of that. I can do some on my own, but I can't run it like Sai did. I'd need someone as active as Sai was before he stopped caring. When I wanted to work the last time I was around he shrugged the opportunities off and just wanted to RP/fight.

If we summed up the real requirements to re-animating this dead guild, it would be:
[1] Another mod as quick, smart, and capable as the position requires.
[2] Since Sai won't be coming back, I'd need to be Vice Captain or I'd be unable to make crucial changes, etc.
[3] The Academy subforum needs to be completed.
[4] We would need complete access to the old techniques Sai possesses.
[5] We would need 2 capable mods to sort and bring those old techs up to new standards.
[6] A lot of re-designing may be necessary, as well as possibly adding more things to the guild, covering a lot more in each section, and whatever else can be thought of.
[7] Our current members would need to post atleast once every two days at the most.
[8] And, we would most definitely need a good pool of interested RPers to recruit. If 10-20 members stuck and the numbers grew as we actively expanded, we would be golden.

And just to clear things up, Sai told me is going to focus on the advancement of his life and doesn't want to deal with the guild anymore after the last occurrence of inactivity and broken promises to return. We're going it alone if we're serious about bringing this place back to life.

Whelp, I guess its about time I show my face around here again. So, yeah... howdy~

Before I get started with anything, I just want to apologize to the people I was GMing for in Grace, like Play, Blaze, and Ava. I'm not going to make excuses or anything, I feel really bad about leaving you guys hanging the way I did, and I hope you can forgive me!

And as for this guild... I've been keeping an eye on NFS here and there, and it looks like there's a lot of interest to get things rolling again, with or without Sai.

I honestly don't have the time to offer a full redesign to the guild, and in a way, I don't think it need nearly as many fixes as you're listing, Chaos.

If you ask me, the things we would want to focus on would be:

[A] Recruiting fresh, dedicated members

Tearing down the anti-travel rules for Genin (I remember something about them not leaving their country). It would inhibit roleplaying among new members, and doesn't really feel in the 'NFS Spirit'. Hell, back in G1, I had Kasei venture across the four corners of the guild and never actually finish the Chuunin Exams.

[C] Keeping Players active. No big crowd-drawing events, no exams for a while.

[D] Do guild projects one at a time. Finishing current guild projects like the Academy come before making vast technique sets.

Nonetheless I'm willing to help out however I can, either through role-playing, updates, recruiting, or whatever else is needed.

@Aizen: I find it hysterical that the rumor mill was correct like 5 years ago.

User Image[I'm gonna address each bold-quoted section directly by placing an answer in green below it. It usually helps me not to stray off topic and it seems to make things easier for others to understand what I'm addressing]

"Whelp, I guess its about time I show my face around here again. So, yeah... howdy~"
Who's awesome? You're awesome!

"And as for this guild... I've been keeping an eye on NFS here and there, and it looks like there's a lot of interest to get things rolling again, with or without Sai."
The guild has endured till now, but I kind of feel as though it needs to flourish now. I read a thing about civilizations that explained how only the cultures who creatively stepped forward thrived, while all else simply endured.

"I honestly don't have the time to offer a full redesign to the guild, and in a way, I don't think it need nearly as many fixes as you're listing, Chaos."
I understand, but don't think about this as a 'we have to do this NOOOOOW' kind of thing. All of the primary changes will take time regardless and thus we can handle the tasks at our own pace. And, as a related note, it's not such much 'fixing', as it's 'expanding'. I noticed during my time in another successful guild that things constantly changed as they saw fit and I also noticed that when the mods have limited time, it's bad to recruit/bring in a lot of people, because the only way we can keep them is to stay constantly active with the updates. If we finish the necessary changes first, we can focus just on the players when the official recruiting starts. Limited resources call on optimal efficiency. Get where I'm going with this?

"[A] Recruiting fresh, dedicated members"
In due time, but not straight away. There are a few things that we actually need to cover before we do that. The first is 'help'. We need to assess who we have in total (likely just us) in the crew that can actively help. The second is to assess ideas and changes for the guild. I'll explain more of this particular task either further into this post or in the mod subforum when I make the discussion topic. (If the players have ideas, they are more than welcome to share those ideas with us and we can discuss it.)

" Tearing down the anti-travel rules for Genin (I remember something about them not leaving their country). It would inhibit roleplaying among new members, and doesn't really feel in the 'NFS Spirit'. Hell, back in G1, I had Kasei venture across the four corners of the guild and never actually finish the Chuunin Exams."
I see where the anti-travel rule makes sense with the series, but I agree that it really inhibits the players' RP options. Chuunin exams are the only way to ascend that limitation and we won't be having something like that take place very often at all. It kills the 'anyone could RP' scenario Sai told me about earlier on when I brought friends into the guild. I have a good idea for this too. We'll review the rules and fix them up if needed, but also add anything we think is necessary and then we'll have a single thread in the main forum devoted to the entirety of the rules surrounding this guild along with an extra post in it as a "Rule FAQ" so that when uncertainty in rules comes up, we have a reference to the situation for everyone to review. The FAQ rules will usually result as of judgment and as such can change if the mods agree it's not accurate. Sound good?

"[C] Keeping Players active. No big crowd-drawing events, no exams for a while."
"That much should be obvious. However, I do believe we should redesign the way we do our events. Remember how the Swords and Demons were always active and anyone could initiate it when ready? If we should happen to go over events, I think we should think of some NaruWorld-wide story concepts for events where anyone can participate within a set deadline (Maybe month long?) and earn some kind of rewards through posting requirements. In this way, the players can continue on doing their own thing and the only thing we really have to worry about is doing their updates. That way we have more events to work with than just the Chuunin Exams where we have to wait on everyone to arrive and complete sections, etc etc etc. It gives the players a bit more freedom to keep doing what their doing before they start the event and if we do it right, they'll be able to choose where they want to start it. That alone will allow the players to follow their own creative stories. (I also think we should move the second character setup to 50 instead of 60 and see how it floats, cause a lot of people like to juggle 2+ characters so they can still RP when one of the two are stuck waiting. Something else we need to start doing is to encourage people currently here and anyone new that comes later to be active and when they can't post, try to actively chat in the OOC or through other means with other players. This keeps a strong sense of communication flowing and will help the players stay up-to-date on most day-by-day or week-by-week events in the guild while showing outside players that the community is socially and RPically active. (By events daily or weekly I mean just what's going on in the guild in general.)"

"[D] Do guild projects one at a time. Finishing current guild projects like the Academy come before making vast technique sets."
I agree. We can discuss everything we want to work on in the mod subforum and list it in the main post. Then we'll just work on things in the order that works best for us. I contacted Sai and he's gonna look into stuff for me. I'll let you know what happens there.

"Nonetheless I'm willing to help out however I can, either through role-playing, updates, recruiting, or whatever else is needed."
That's good. I have a friend who is going to help us out, but we will likely still be understaffed for something like this. It takes 5-6 active crew members in the last guild I was in to keep up with a sizeable player base and still make suited changes/etc. -brofist-

I'm going to setup the stuff in the mod subforum. If you want to address your response there or here, it's fine, but make sure to quote me.

So besides everyone here trying to get the guild back up onto its own feet. How is everyone? Anything new and exciting?

A little better after recent inspiration and news from a friend, but overall still sort of miserable. Nothing new that I haven't already expressed myself about multiple times. How about you?

Another thing I'd like to bring up is an offer of a full reset (no level loss and whatnot) for the purpose of getting current members to move around to villages where there are more RP opportunities.

Once we figure out who's back, we could tally up who is where, and people interested in resetting could shift around and whatnot in such a way that there's an even balance between villages. Ideally, we'd want a situation where no one is alone, and no one village looks like Mist used to.

If people are up for that, I wouldn't have an issue taking care of all that business.

That sounds quite interesting. Sort of like a free chance to re-imagine our characters since they were kind of stuck in old stories or whatnot. I'll add it to the list, but make sure to post in the mod subforum thread on what exactly you're gonna do to each profile, just for the record.

Just getting ready for school to start. Living in Rez again this year but this time I'm an RA, so I also have to get ready for the first month of parties. Hopefully things don't go as bad as last year. But other then that not a lot, missing Rping cuz it was a good change of pace, and hoping that we can get this ball rolling some time soon ~nods~

Ah. I have school in the winter myself. x.x
And, as far as RPing, it would be kind of nice if there were more active RPs and stories happening. Any news on the other guy you're RPing with?

Unfortunately no.... It's almost been a month now (last post was august 9th, and it's now september 2nd) with no post, but it's kinda hard to make sense of going on without him since it wouldn't make much sense in the mission we're doing right now ~le-Sigh~ Plus I still have to talk out this situation to the other person in this as well since I like shared opinions.

If you're really rarin' to RP you should probably try to contact the others you're involved with and let them know. Maybe even ask if they don't mind getting active long enough to part ways so your story can be picked up later when they are more active.

We're already taking steps to get things going again for those currently here, so maybe this next step in the restoration will help you.
