As Ryudo evaded Shock Tide, Argon made an attempt to brace himself, raising his arms as if to parry. With unparalleled speed, the Shadow Dragon pierced right through the Shadow Plate. While Lunar Push could serve to dull the damage, the psychic energy that gave it its piercing properties would make it a very poor barrier indeed.
The Death Knight was sent skidding across the landscape. With the attack's 30 foot radius, Argon couldn't have 'dodged' it in the best of times. All that energy ended up transferred directly to Argon's body, but...
The Black Wind was reinforced, blowing the dust out of his way as it flared up.
He seemed to shrug it off completely.
Immediately after coming to a halt, the Death Knight pushed off at full speed towards Ryudo... empty handed. Ruination was no where to be seen, as it was returned to the void for the time being. In a fight such as this, the weapons size was actually a detriment when compared to his opponent's speed and power.
After all, a superior weapon didn't make a better man.
While it might not be immediately apparent, the Tainted Dragon was still in the fight even though it was hanging back. With the strong bond they shared, Lazarus was able to share its power directly with its master. Already Argon began to exert a lot more power even in his strides.

Maximos Max nodded, and grinned back, after passing back the mug. When Ryugi's eyes fell on him again, he would be sitting on a rock with a black ribbon swirling around him like a snake. It had no shape, just cloth like. Its a bit tricky, I know its meant to be a part of me, but its a new part. And still, I have you to thank for it. For this!He gestured around. Really I cant thank you enough!Ryugi took a sip of the icy fresh water from the mug and chuckled. No thanks are necessary. Its just what friends do.He'd look to Max and grin. Ryugi was pleased Max was beginning to learn to use Ankokuko's powers more creatively. Who knew what amazing things he'd think of next? Either way, Ryugi didn't think Max owed him anything. Max was his friend, and as his friend, Ryugi would gladly assist him in his time of need, even if it wasn't on a trip through his homeland. Besides... You'd do the same for me.

MagnusXL While it might not be immediately apparent, the Tainted Dragon was still in the fight even though it was hanging back. With the strong bond they shared, Lazarus was able to share its power directly with its master. Already Argon began to exert a lot more power even in his strides. In a flash, Ryudo was back up on his feet and speeding towards the Death Knight once more. The giant weapon had disappeared from view, but that meant it could just as easily be brought back into the fray, and Ryudo would be watching for it. As he sped in, Ryudo leapt into the air and spun his body around with terrible speed, his form becoming a black and silver blur as he shot straight towards Death Knight for an attack, pinpricks gathering on his claws once more... I would.
Max said. He looked down at the bread in his hands, at the cup beside him on the rock, but more importantly at the sword across his lap. The snake like ribbon stopped, like a curious animal and peeked up at him from his boots.
For some reason a hint of cheer dropped from his face. He remembered Ryudo's words. His warning. He thought of what it would be like if this beauty, this perfect came crashing down.
If this gift, this perfect present had to be turned on a friend. For a second, as darker corner of his mind found light shed on it, he saw a flash of red staining the word. Blood. Dragons blood.
And he immediate snapped his head up, toppling over his glass only to have it caught by the ribbon and spiraled up this grasp where he grabbed it.
I really would.
And sipped it. Putting the cup, and gloomy thoughts down, darkness slipping away.

The Death Knight continued his charge, undaunted by Ryudo's sudden leap and rapid spinning. As they closed in on each other’s range, the Undead Shade arched back, bringing his right fist extremely low to the ground. The sudden shift in balance caused him to slide a bit towards his opponent.
"WRRRRRRAAAAAGGH!"
Was it an uppercut? Was it a hook? It was a little bit of both, actually.
Stacked with Lazaraus's strength, Argon was able to attack with horrifying speed and raw power. His fist now cackling violently with the same volatile energies that powered Shock Tide, The Death Knight brought his body back up, unleashing a punch at an incredibly high angle. The extremely low stance benefited the Death Knight by putting him well beneath Ryudo's attack range, while the odd angle would prevent the Hybrid Dragon from blocking it properly.
There was a terrifying amount of power behind that swing. What's more is that Argon wasn't aiming to merely hit the shadow dragon; he was aiming to rip right through his opponent.

Ryudo's merged form with Lethe held many benefits. One of these was the outer black covering that covered him from from head to toe. This covering was made of layers upon layers of compressed shadow energy. It was much like the shadow skin of the Shadow Spawn, but far, far more durable. This shadowy armor was so tightly compressed that it could actually protect against a bullet, and was actually given weight despite it being made from just energy.
The Death Knight's sudden attack had left Ryudo in a very poor predicament. His speed and spin had caused him to move into an attacking position that was unstable, and thus, it was far easier for him to get hit than he'd anticipated...
With a crash the two forces collided. The Death Knight's punch slammed into Ryudo's form, but not before his spinning form and the durable outer shell did their job. The spinning motion served to cause the fist to roll across the outside of the armor, spreading out the damage it would have done across the durable surface area rather than a single point. The only visible damage to the outer covering would be a few cracks where the fist had impacted, but these would soon be repaired by the shadow energy coming from the merged draconic form. Death Knight wasn't the only one out here with regenerative armor. This form was MADE for close range combat, much like Ryudo alone had been MADE for combat with his abilities. What good would a form like that be if it couldn't take a few hits?
The force would send Ryudo's form into the air where he'd stop his spin, his arm would glow, and in the blink of an eye he would speed to the ground below at terrible speed, his clawed hand aiming to cleave the Death Knight with terrible force as dust was kicked up from the landing...

Maximos I would.
I really would. And sipped it. Putting the cup, and gloomy thoughts down, darkness slipping away. Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to get going. If we hurry we should be able to make it to Suhalla before nightfall, and can head out tomorrow morning.Ryugi would stand up, taking another bite of his sweet bread, and finished the mug of cool water. He knew it would be a tiring walk down the mountain and through the desert to get to Suhalla, and he wanted to get going. Besides, when they were so close to the end of their journey, it would be rude to make Max wait any longer than he needed to.

Excellent, I like this plan. I'm glad to be a part of it.
He said, hopping off the rock to his feet. Emptied, both mug swirled away into a abyss nothingness or wherever these type of things go. Same with the sweet bread, although that less "swirled" and more "was chomped" the end result being the same.
On his feet, he tugged the strap of his bag, adjusted Ankokuko's sheath and walked up beside Ryugi. It was a universal way of saying "shall we?". And presumably they were off.
It'd be a few minutes into the trip, that Maximos would turn to Ryugi and say.
I once heard of a dragon that could use five different elements. I think it had several heads or something of the sort.
An odd way to start a conversation, but a way none the less.
It just reminds me, I dont think I've ever seen you use an element other than fire.

Ryugi grinned a bit as he listened. A dragon with more than one head and multiple elements? This was certainly something new. Ryugi had heard of such things as well, but he'd never glimpsed one with his own two eyes. Something like that would surely be a terrible foe if one were ever to encounter one. Dragons with multiple elements were common on Angara, but two was usually the limit for most individuals.
Occasionally there was a being known as a Trigon, or a dragon capable of using three different elements, but these were incredibly rare. And then there were elemental dragons, dragons that were terribly strong with only one element. Ryudo was an elemental dragon, a shadow dragon, and was gifted with the ability to make use of one element. As a rule, mono-elemental dragons were stronger with their singular element than one with two, but Trigons were equally powerful with all three elements.
I suppose that's because my secondary element is only useful in certain situations. It isn't something that can easily be applied to everything. But, if you had to guess, what do you think my secondary element would be?
Ryugi smiled and looked to max as he continued walking along the path. he was curious to see if his friend had picked up on any more of that elemental guessing ability he'd been trying to work on before. Perhaps the short time with the monks would have helped? Either way, Ryugi was silent as he waited for Max's reply.

Maximos stopped.
Which is to say he continued walking but was not talking, no it looked instead as if he was thinking very intently. His arms were cross his chest, his hand rubbed his chin. And his eyes, they moved up and down sizing up Ryugi as they walked.
All for show of course. For Nocturne's sake, Ryugi dressed in all white and gold. Not red. No. GOLD. Maximos knew the answer right off, but he did the rest for fun, and the triumphantly lifted his index finger high and announced it.
Darkness. Clearly.
And he looked completely serious too. He might even be able to fool a monk or two with that face. But it of course melted a moment or two later, with a chuckle as he said.
Light. Or maybe Wind because well...
But he just let that fade off.

Ryugi chuckled a bit. He knew what Max was getting at with his last comment. Quiet though it may have been, Ryugi had very good hearing. Long winded or not, Max was indeed correct with his guess. Ryugi was pleased. Max was getting better all the time.
That's right Max. My second element is light. Or holy, or positive. Its called alot of different things, but it all refers the the same basic element. And light is an element that has far more specified uses.
Light wasn't just an element that someone could swing around whenever they wanted. It was one of the more specified elements. Of course, it could be used in a variety of ways, including combination with other elements to form different attacks, but mostly, it worked best on its own. This was mainly why Ryugi used his fire abilities more often than his light abilities.

Whats my element?
It was rhetortical.Max cracked a smile. It was one of those smiles that said, trouble was afoot. And trouble was indeed a foot. The Shadow held out his right hand and said.
I know Light. I fear your selling yourself short.
His right hand clenched, then opened and at the base of his palm was a small glowing violet ball. It shone rather bright, and the brightness grew as the ball lifted from his palm and hovered a bit a good 6inches over his hand.
Light, right? Opposite of dark?
It was warm, it certainly glowed. But in its presence Ankokuko didnt seem effect. Granted the sword was sheathed. But incidentally the shadows of the two travelers didnt seem to budge under this " Light". But Max would give Ryugi a moment to scan it over.

Ryugi raised and eyebrow as he caught wind of Max's vocal patterns. Something was funny here... What did he have up his sleeve? Other than a glowing violet ball anyway.
That's correct. Light is to dark as fire is to water. Either can overpower the other if enough is used. Of course, you already know that.
Ryugi would keep walking down the path as he admired the ball of energy. Where was Max headed with this?

Max smiled.
Good. But you see, I have no light powers. I know Light, but I cant wield it, light and dark are too far opposite, you move toward one you inexorably move away from the other.
He tossed the ball back and forth between hands.
Only on rare occasions do the two meet. Dusk. Dawn. But not this, this definitely has a side.
He held up the glowing violet ball as it landed in one hand and spun it on his fingertip. It was about the size of a softball, and quite bright and sparkly. He'd give it a second more, and then Max tossed in the punchline.
This is darkness, not light.
He said with a wide grin as he presented in his right hand what should have been, the impossible. Ryugi might need a moment, might not. Either way, he'd give him one.

Ryugi pondered this most puzzling predicament. How something so bright could also be made of the shadow element fascinated him. It was paradoxical, even some might call it "impossible." And yet, there is was, floating above his friend's hand.
That...is certainly something of wonder, Max. But...how is that possible?
Ryugi continued to be perplexed by the small orb of shining energy as he watched. Being an elemental caused him to be interested in all things magical and elemental. And he was always looking for new ways to make use of his abilities.
