I love playing french horn. biggrin
Although I do hate that 99% of marches for the horn are seriously just off beats.

My favorite march is Stars and Stripes. For me it's the most fun march to play on horn. Anyone else enjoy marches? I know most are boring though.


I like how they sound, I just don't like having the most boring part out of everyone in the band xD But like I said, I guess that's not always the case
We played the Klaxon march toward the beginning of the year, and horns have the melody at one point.
Also, my band has an annual concert in the middle of May every year, and our finale is always the armed service songs, followed by Stars and Stripes Forever. biggrin


The Chimes of Liberty March the horns get the melody too. I've played it with three or four different ensembles over the years.


I'll have to suggest it to my band director then. razz He's a fan of marches...
