I'd love to see someone who actually knows how to use the sword instead of just acting like Kenshin and firing energy blasts from it. xd

I use a Katana RARELY because of how cliche and gay it is, but when you use iaido its all good. Shurkiens and any projectile weapons fail 100% of the time, never use projectile, they're weak, usless and have a very low chance of contact, and even if they do strike they dont do much.
Needles and s**t like that, rarely hit and usually dont have enough strenght and or speed to actually do damage to someone who is more physicaly built.
Advice, dont use em.
I was using katanas for a period of time, because I was following in my master's footsteps, before I eventually overpowered him and became far more powerful. In due time, I should be above the level of normal FFA-ers, if I am not already. Now, I only use a "Grand Katana" as it is necessary for certain events for my character, and my nanotechs as they are quite useful. Oh, I've made a powerful one-hand version of the Flamberge, it's not even smaller. I'm also using a enchanted moutuary sword.

Well, I was doing fine 'till you got to the energy blast part... sweatdrop
However, energy-slashes aside, I've found that you have to be able to wield the blade at close range. Otherwise, people just come in close and stop all your wild slashes before they can even begin...

I'll take spanish steel over any katana. As for throwing weapons, most often its a waste of a perfectly good weapon, you don't throw your weapon unless your trying to distract someone while you turn tail and run.
Also, Vercellius' knifes posses no magic.
