For Avery, life currently sucked. He'd been so crazy busy the last few days with papers, projects, and celebrating the holiday with his family that he hadn't been able to stream as he usually did. To him, streaming and fulfilling the desires of his followers gave him such energy and purpose that it often acted as the fuel to keep him going when things got tough or tiring. So, having barely had the time to stream meant he felt drained and, honestly, even a little irritated. Hoping to finish the remaining papers and projects on his to-do list, Avery decided to pack up his textbooks and laptop and head to Moonbucks for some caffeine and some studying.

Backpack in Tow, Avery hopped on a bus to the Cerise Shopping District and walked his way over to his favorite quaint coffee shop on the island. Once he got to the shop, he quickly entered, the cooling temperatures hitting him a bit harder than expected. To warm himself up again, he opted for a flat white, a hot drink made with two bold shots of Ristretto espresso and steamed whole milk, known for its signature white dot from the finish of a pencil-thin milk pour and for its rich and velvety first sip. After receiving his drink, Avery then moved to a quiet corner booth, placing his backpack on the booth beside him while he grabbed out his books and laptop. Determined to complete the laundry list of tasks he had, he immediately got to work, completely hell-bent on being able to do a steamy stream not only for his followers but for himself as soon as he was done.

~ Call me King ~

A soft 'hmph' answered Nicholai's prodding; King tilting her head to a haughty angle against her hand as a ghost of a smirk twitched at her lips and gave her mock-pouting away for the act that it was. " ... Maybe, just a little more than nice then." Not a shred of embarrassment could be seen in her posture or heard in her voice as the woman allowed her little agreement to pass her lips, clearly amused he'd noticed but not sorry in the least for her reaction now that she'd somewhat rationalized it to herself. ' I'll be honest..' In a heartbeat her sassy façade crumbled and King's smile dimmed just a little, trepidation trying to work itself into her heart as she processed his confession thoughtfully. " It is alright to be in awe, I know I'm pretty amazing.." It was a light-hearted reflex, using humor to distract herself as she weighed the heavier emotions in her mind.. but she couldn't quite hide the hints of hesitation that slowed her words as she continued in a slightly more somber murmur. " ... Joking aside, I think I understand what you mean." It was fair to be a bit off balance.. Most other people, either due to her personality or her 'talents', told her she was a bit much to handle all at once.. but those people were often the ones blessed with stability and acceptance in life. Growing up in the Meta facility she'd gotten a first-hand view of people like herself learning how to act 'normal' or adapt self-isolating habits because of their differences or gifts. Quite a few of the other children expressed displeasure then when King, entirely oblivious to these unspoken rules, had trotted her way through her early years like everything was fair and just in the world. It was a glass wall between her nature and theirs, they couldn't understand why she was so at ease with herself while she couldn't fathom why they hid themselves away.. Growing up among the other social outcasts had taught her to understand, of course, but looking at the man in front of her she again found herself against that figurative invisible barrier. The only difference now was she had no intention of letting it stay in her way. What were his words from earlier, when they spoke about the Cobras? '.. secretive and seldom seen.. but unafraid to bite? It suited his cautious yet focused approach while they spoke.' Watching him move closer she didn't resist as he brushed her hair away from her eyes and, seeing him startle as the Waiter returned, a soft laugh escaped her as she lifted her supporting hand to cradle her mouth and muffle the sound a bit. She really was in trouble, this one wasn't even trying to turn her heart over and yet watching him she couldn't help but react..

Lowering her hand to grasp her drink King took a small sip of her tea before offering her answer to him, finally gathering her thoughts to properly express herself. " I've been told before that I am rather terrible at 'minding the social norms'.. according to my friend, at least." Another soul ventured into the establishment and King paused, allowing the boy to travel past their resting place and safely to his corner booth untroubled by her slightly bold words before she set her cup down lightly and continued. " But from my perspective the only person who has a right to judge me at the moment is you.. If anyone else has a issue with me being myself they can go pound sand on the beach. Is it odd to think that way?"

He took another sip, watching her every movement, studying her frame, reflexes, and the way she held her cup, to the way she talked. He found King captivating, and tried to find a good response to her last segment. Easing his nerves, Nicholai rested back against the booth, and followed her eyes to the young man who walked past them, and then regained his focus back on to King. "Not at all." He lightly chuckled, and took another sip of his tea. "I should take a note out of your book ,and try to follow it instead." He trailed off, and looked out the window. "In all my years, having to be hidden was law from where I'm from....People tend to run in the opposite direction once they found out what you really are..." He sighed, but kept the smile on his face. "So I adapted....I learned a way to be seen without being seen, and lived in such a way since." He turned to face her with a small smile, but his expression softened. "Some may call it cowardice, But I don't think it is....I'd like to think of it as a way of surviving....." He looked down to his cup, and lightly titled his tea, stirring the liquid inside. "Besides....Had I not hid myself so well, we may never have met, and i'd still be in Russia." He teased.

That liquid jade stare slid away from her to search the view outside the glass and King lifted her cup, savoring the soft flavor of her drink with that little bite of lemon as the man explained his perspective and reassured her that she hadn't troubled him with her outspoken habits. It couldn't quite come to mind, imagining him behaving as she did.. though no doubt it would be a sight to behold she had no desire to see him lose that serene caution of his. It was soothing and refined.. Even when his expression seemed so very subtly pained by the topic they shared. Isolation wasn't easy, either in a physical sense or an emotional one, and a small piece of the puzzle that was Nicholai clicked into place as he spoke of his survival habits and the potential accusations of cowardice for them. It was impossible to say why... but this irritated her on his behalf and King curled her left-hand fingers around her cup in a supporting motion as a stubborn expression settled over her features. Her first instinct was to defend him and his way of life, the itch to do just that was strong enough to send soft little sparks along her lower lip, but for his sake the woman didn't indulge in her temper.. Recognizing that what he needed from her wasn't anger but rather the very thing he'd given her so kindly. Acceptance. Inhaling slowing through her nose she held it a moment as she closed her eyes, calming the inner fire that crackled in his defense, before releasing a warm puff of air that seemed oddly akin to steam. Satisfied she had a grip on the emotion King lifted her lashes to seek out his down-cast stare that seemed fixated upon his beverage, very carefully setting her cup down to rest on the table as she traced the dish's rim with her right index finger in a calming movement. " You are not a coward for finding a way to make a life for yourself, Nic. If anything I'd say that your ability to adapt and protect yourself is pretty damn incredible." It was a bit forward of her to give him the nickname, calling him 'Nic' so easily as if she had every right, but she figured the man would firmly reject it if he didn't like... and she'd save it for the occasions she wanted to tease him instead of for idle use.

So he'd spoken Russian.. The short phrase had caught her attention when he had said it moments ago but from the way his silken tone had deepened to a sound of wistful amusement King hadn't quite been able to speculate which language it was or even guess what it had meant. Maybe if she asked he would tell her.. Alas these thoughts would have to wait as she addressed his comment about 'still being in Russia'. A fellow refugee... though one far more removed than she herself had been.. Releasing her cup King let her elbows rest on the table as she interwove her fingers together and set her chin down upon them, the light crackle of her voice meant to soothe her companion as she invited a bit of levity back into their talk. " ... Hmm.. I'm only sitting here because I tossed a dart at a map when I needed to move. That, and then some hot guy in a book store didn't run screaming when I hit on him.~" From the sweet smile she offered with the comment it was clear she wouldn't push him to talk about why he left home.. but curiosity did get the better of her in one regard and she asked sincerely. " I'm very glad you're here, but to be so far from home.. Do you miss Russia?"

As Nicholai took another sip, he paused at hearing the nickname given to him. He slowly lowered the tea cup down to the table, and into his right hand, where he caressed the rim with his right thumb. Nic huh? What a cute name..So nicknames are available hm? How ever will I come up one for her now? He thought loosely to himself. Hearing movement, He raised his glace back over to King to see her leaning on the table, via resting her elbows down, and her chin on top of her hands. He smiled to her frame, she looked rather cute this way, sexy even with how her body language is suggesting, but perhaps he may be miss reading it. Something for him to ponder later, and rose the cup back to his lips to take another sip. After that first comment, Nicholai turn his head, spat out some tea, and started coughing. He quickly grabbed his white pocket handkerchief and covered his mouth trying to regain his composure, but also his blushing. Hot guy huh? He thought. As she made a comment about him being here and not in Russia, he figured it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more open with her. He cleared his throat to regain his composure before leaning back against his booth. "I do....miss Russia I mean." Nicholai started, and leaned forward to rest his left elbow on the table, while resting his chin in the palm of his hand. "Home is where we make it, yes? For me...Russia is always my home." He trailed off for a moment, and moved his attention back to hs near empty tea cup. "I have both fond memories, and bad ones......I know for other's may have more bad memories than any good ones from their home town, and have their own reasons of leaving.......And I'd like to think that there is no shame in that." He raised his eyes back to meet with her. "Our memories is our own to cherish, or discard as we se fit.....and that's okay." Nicholai leaned forward, and posed himself in the same manner as King did. With both elbows resting on the table, his fingers intertwined, and his chin playfully resting on top of them. "So tell me.....Darling." He started in his soothing voice, turned flirtations. "What about Russia, would you like to know?" He asked in a teasing manner.

Occupation : Tattoo Artist @ The Cut N' Stab | Status : Single | OOC : Not sure read his profile, but Kairo isn't visible to other people. He's only physical and visible to Alistair. Ali is kind of haunted and the host of hundreds of spirits and some demons. Kairo being one of those demons.

He loves the cold weather, but more than that, he prefers when it is dark and gloomy outside. On those days, he can wonder about without all this gear on his body. Boiling him in the heat. Yet he tries not to let it stop him from getting out of the shop or his place every now and then. So even though the sun is out, he at least has the cold to keep him from boiling and he is determined to enjoy a coffee dang it. "So determined." The demon whispers to him, a mass of something he can feel beneath his trench coat. It must be nice to just turn into a whispy cloud of nothing that can just hide easily from the light. Because he is feeling especially petty, he doesn't respond and instead pushes open the door of the cafe. This was the reason he came out today.

When touring around previously, the artist had made note of the Moonbucks café, a place where its décor could actually aide in keeping him from burning in the light. They definitely don't stick to the bright bubbly design most cafe's do, and he is glad for that. Because he is acutely aware of the staring he gets in his mask and coat. He knows that he probably scares the barista as he orders a coffee and takes a seat in the corner furthest away from the windows. When the lightbulb is sufficiently dimmed and his corner is darkened a little better, he finally lowers his hood and removes his mask. With his shades still on, he take a sip of the coffee and smiles. The tense atmosphere in the room seems to dissipate when they see that he is just normal dude who is probably just cosplaying or something.

At least it gets more comfortable when he waves in a friendly manner to the few people who were staring. Though they were embarrassed for being caught staring, they wave back kindly and he hums in satisfaction. He can actually enjoy a nice cup of coffee to combat the cold without being seen as a freak. "Today is gonna be a good day, I can tell." At least Kairo has returned to his physical form and has taken on of the seats at the table with him, looking satisfied by their darker little corner.

You leave Soleil for two or so months and you almost forget how truly beautiful and busting it is. The siren walked the streets of Soleil with a small smile on their face. Of course getting a few odd looks as people walked by them. Alistair's long blonde hair was still dripping wet. His clothes a bit damp from how wet his body was. His hat was dangling from his shoulders; luckily a string was keeping it from flying off. The siren gave a small content hum. One would think he would be shivering and freezing. But Alistair was used to being cold, after all he's a siren. Siren's would swim miles after miles in the oceans, rivers and lakes. Each body of water being colder or warmer than the other. No one truly knew how punishingly cold the many depths of water could be. As he continued to walk the streets, the siren had an sudden urge to have a nice caffeinated drink. So off to the cafe he was, of course the closet cafe. The siren was feeling kind of tired. He long a very long swim back to Soleil.

After another mile of walking and a few more turns, the siren reached their desired cafe location. Moonbucks Cafe! As they entered, they blinked at how busy it was. Well, the weather is colder and cafes are very much a cold weather enjoyment. Reaching into what seemed to be a messenger bag made from a special leather material; the siren pulled out their phone. Moving further up in line before checking it. The siren's face seemed to dim a bit. Not a single text or call...yet. Moving further in the line, the siren tapped the phone to his chin. He did tell him he would be home today and what time estimate. Moving further in line again, a voice broke out to him. Blinking and realizing he was next to order he shyly giggled a bit. "Vanilla Cappuccino, please?" Alistair sweetly replied to the barista. His voice was somewhat rasped so he spoke rather gently. All the time swimming, singing along with other sirens, singing to the marine life; it really takes a toll on one simple siren. Once receiving the drink and paying for it, Alistair nodded and turned to find a seat. Yes, this would be the real test. The cafe was full of people so finding a spot would be hard.

After another moment or two of looking for a seat; Alistair noticed an available spot. It seemed to be only one person there. Surely they wouldn't mind if someone joined them? The siren slowly made their way over, closer and closer to the person and the available seat. It was rather dimmed and dark on this side of the cafe. Maybe they were having electrical issues? Oh well, giving a gentle and small clearing of this throat, Alistair spoke up then. "Hello, mind if I joined you? It's rather packed today..hehe" The siren spoke lightly and kindly to the other person. Alistair's voice was still rasped and worn. But the siren's gentleness and joy still managed to peak through his voice.

He wasn't expecting to be entirely avoided, but he wasn't expecting to be approached either. Luckily for the man, who looks like he was standing out in some rain even though it isn't raining, Alistair is a very friendly person. Unlike what his appearance suggests, he is very social and his easy going personality makes him an easy person to talk to. "Sure! There is plenty of space, I wouldn't want to be a seat snob." He motions to the chair that is open and offers a friendly smile. Someone talked to him and they aren't a customer! "Careful Ali, he isn't human either." He gives the demon a pat on the knee under the table to reassure him, deciding that is safer than responding out loud.

"My name is Alistair Osius. I work as a tattoo artist at the Cut n' Stab. If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" At least when he manages to see Emi again, he can tell him about how he made a friend in Vanti, and how he met another acquaintance in the cafe. And they approached him! He can't stress enough how big of a deal that is for him. It's pretty major in his book. Maybe they will be as nice as Emi and Vanti and he can eventually consider them to be a friend too? That would certainly be something! He has a personal goal of at least making 10 friends. 10! Seems like a pretty fair goal to keep him pumped.

There she was. One of the richest girls in all this city. And she was in one of the richer areas of the city. Still, she was alone and with little money. She would’ve much rather been at a cozy fancier place than this little cafe, but this would do for now. It was Christmas Eve and the cafe was dressed up in christmassy and festive decor. Pandora looked around at it all and still huffed. ”So it’s Christmas and they send me away instead of spending time together.” She hadn’t yet visited her new home, instead instructing the driver that was the only one kind enough to give her an idea of what was going on to drop her off at the shopping district. She was going to do what she knew best, spending money till she was satisfied.

Even in the gloves, her hands were starting to catch cold. She hurried her way into the cafe and looked around. It looked like there were others but they were off to themselves in little groups here and there and then some others to themselves. She didn’t bother anyone, instead walking up to an open table and taking a seat. She pulled out her phone and started a lengthy mouthy text to her mother, but remembered what the driver had said about her having to prove herself to get her riches back. She remembered what he said, ”Such a smart and caring move on their part. They’re good parents. You should respect their wishes. They just want the best for you.” She scoffed and rolled her eyes again like she did in the car when he first said it. ”What does he know. I am grateful! I know how to behave!” She huffed again and threw her sandy brown hairs behind her shoulder.

Pandora sat and stewed for a moment, deciding against sending the text but saving it in her drafts in case this all worked out for the worse. She pulled up her bank account information on her phone and saw the balance of $10k. That wasn't much, but it was at least enough to grab a bite to eat and a small coffee.
She tapped the table and waited for a wait staffer to approach her, but no one was coming. Was this one of those places she had to order for herself? How low! But her tummy grumbled. She looked at the sweets that were in others hands and the smell of coffee and hot chocolate was in the air. It wasn't anything too fancy like she was use to, but it didn't smell bad.
She kinda wiggled her leg in anticipation as she watched the front counter, biting one of her freshly done nails. "Ughhhh finnnneeeee." She finally groaned and stood to approach the counter. "Excuse me, can I get a whipped mocha with soy milk and caramel drizzle on the top with chocolate sprinkles?" No please, no thank you, she just began looking at her phone again as she pulled out her card and shoved it towards the barista's way.

Pandora sat at her table with her phone in her face as she drank her coffee. She was right, it wasn't as good as she was use to, but it did the trick. She started to look around. There was something else the driver was talking about, "You're moving to the city of the legend of the fruit. There's a certain type of fruit that grows in the jungles that when shared with another can mean true happiness for the couple. You should be so happy to be so lucky! Pretty girl like you would be able to snatch any guy she wanted." He chuckled as he got a good look at her in the rearview mirror.

"So..there's a fruit that makes people fall more in love, huh?" She thought as she stirred her coffee. She sighed and put her chin in her hand, staring out the window at the snow falling. "Wonder what that's like..."

Andromeda Hale

Having gotten up that morning with a bit more anxious nerves than normal, Andromeda had fought herself tooth and nail to go out. She had met the most fascinating woman recently, and she had agreed to go out with her to go shopping to try and help Andromeda understand the holiday that so many seemed to be getting ready for. Having gotten there far earlier than they had agreed upon, Andromeda drummed her fingers nervously against the edge of her cup that had long since been emptied of its contents.
The woman had skillfully managed her long blonde hair around her ears to hide the delicate points that they came too. Most of the population of the city seemed to be supernatural in one way or another, but she almost felt like an imposter among them, as she wasn't truly an elf, but merely managed to copy their appearance. They had been some of the only early beings that she had enjoyed being around. Humans had not made the best first impressions to her after all.
As far as she'd been able to tell though, is that Coralyn was not entirely human. The other woman was almost a calming presence within the noise and overwhelming senses of everything that inhabited the city. A feeling that she had only really felt with Calista so far. But despite that, Andromeda knew her lack of social interaction with others stemmed many issues for her when meeting others and trying to actually become friends with others. She'd even tried her hand at blind dating, but it hadn't seemed to go very well. Pushing the empty cup around in front of her, she waited quietly for Coralyn to come in so they could decide where they would like to go from here.

Though, thankfully for her, she wouldn't be alone in her little errand, she was going to meet this lovely woman she came across the other day while attempting to do the same. She was from her homeland and quite the elegant one, so Coralyn decided to dress up a little to at least look a smidge less childish around her.

The door to the establishment they decided to meet in swung open, quickly followed by the little woman rushing inside before it shut itself behind her. So cold! She brushed her lose curls behind her ears as she looked around for her friend. The moment she did, she quickly rushed to her and slipped herself rather swiftly on her seat. Oh boy, it seemed like she made her wait a little longer than she had expected to. Well, she wanted to blame Aaron for that but then again, she did want to keep it a secret from him. She simply fished out her phone and began typing. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to keep you waiting!". she showed the other, wishing so dearly she could have just explained to her verbally, but alas, she simply hoped she'd understand. "I was trying to avoid making Aaron suspicious and I was also trying to finish some of the decorations." she'd add, "Have you done any at home?" she asked curiously, maybe after their last brief discussion about the holiday her friend did something?

"Was there somewhere specific that you wanted to go to?" she'd type after the woman said her peace, smiling brightly in excitement to show the woman around town in the most magical, special time of the year.

Andromeda Hale

It seemed to happen very quickly as Andromeda was lost in her thoughts and hadn't even realized the door to the cafe had opened, or that the person she was waiting for had arrived. In a flash the petite woman was in the seat across from her and looking cold and flustered. Though most would be bothered by the fact that Coralyn could not speak, Andromeda didn't mind it at all. It allowed someone to really think over what was being said or what was going to be said before speaking. Reading the first thing she had written out on her phone, Andromeda smiled and raised her hands in a placating way, "No need to apologize! I'm afraid my own anxious nature made me arrive far too early and fret over silly things." There was no point in hiding the truth from the other woman, it wasn't like it was that bad to begin with. The only thing is she had to live with embarrassing herself. Which was not an uncommon thing to happen.
Continuing to read what she was writing out, Andromeda laughed lightly. Coralyn was adorable beyond compare and she couldn't have been happier that she had met the other. But with her question if she'd done any decorating at home, she cast her dark eyes towards the table, feeling badly that she still didn't quite understand the holiday though she had already had it explained to her. "I fear I still don't grasp the concept of the holiday fully. It felt like it would be empty and meaningless if I tried to decorate without truly understanding it. But maybe that is my own fault and won't ever understand it." Frowning gently to herself, she tapped her fingers anxiously on her cup again, hoping she wasn't a total downer for the mood.
"I did not have any place in particular as my sister is more accustomed to the city than I, but I would love to see what it has to offer. What have you gotten Aaron?" Turning the conversation easily back towards what Coralyn has planned, she knew Aaron was special to her, but she didn't know in what way. Dating was an absurd and overly scary thing for her though her sister pushed for it constantly, so maybe seeing someone who already had someone would help her understand the whole idea of it also. The more she sat with Coralyn and spoke with her, the more she appreciated her new found friend.

There was always a hope that she wasn't bothering her company with the constant back and forth of reading her text or even listening to the text being read out with that darn awful robotic voice, but she didn't see any signs of unpleasantries so she was a little relieved. She smiled when the other admitted to her own mind wandering about into the negative zone and shook her head. As familiar as she was with such thoughts, it didn't feel nice thinking she had to worry herself over that. "You might want to remind yourself that thinking about the worse will not really help you!" she typed out, flashing a big smile.

Hearing her laugh made her cheeks light up a little, she was so elegant and graceful at the same time. She always admired that about certain women and Andromeda was quite wonderfully so. She couldn't help but feel a tad bit guilty when she noticed her face drop, her brows knitting in a display of worry as she quickly turned her phone to face herself and typed as fast as she could. "Don't you worry, I might not be very good at explaining things, but I will help you the best I can!" she showed her once she was done, reaching for her hand - avoiding contact if the other showed a negative response - but would hold on to it to reassure her the best she could. "As I've said once before, the stores, the markets are often good places to see what Christmas is all about." she'd add.

Tapping her chin as she thought about where to start, she would slowly start sinking into her seat when she felt the spotlight on her, a flushed expression as she felt embarrassed thinking she still hadn't thought of much. Sure she had some other things for him, like some things he'd need, stocking stuffers like socks and a case for his glasses, but they were all lacking in that little special spark. "I couldn't decide, but I'm hoping we'll see something that reminds me of him, and that will be it." she responded with a smile, "It feels a lot more special that way." she'd grin.

"Lets go to "Not so catwalk"? its through the shopping district so we might be able to see the very "Christmassy Ambience" and hopefully that can help understanding the holiday too." she suggested.
