Finally the harbinger's head rose, finally there were no tears left to cry. Julian looked to Sin for a moment before looking back down to draw a small black leather bag out of his pocket. He held the bag over his open palm and let the... His dice. All were black stone with silver numbers etched into their surfaces, some of the d6s with other symbols instead of numbers.

He set a d12 aside and placed the others back inside of the bag...
Along with a handful of ash.
The boil replaced the bag in his pocket and stood, picking up the die as he did so. His eyes were still glassy when he looked to Sin with a small smile, then back down to his hand as he held the die on his open palm.
"Andor, my older brother... He always said this one was lucky. Bran wanted it banned from gameplay. I almost never failed a roll with it..." He wouldn't leave behind his pin, there was too much risk of someone untrustworthy getting a hold of it. But his lucky die, his favorite...

Such a simple token and yet it meant so much to him. He knew if she could see, Red would probably appreciate it, wouldn't she?
Then again, she was a GYM teacher, wasn't she? Maybe she would have thought it was silly. But it didn't matter, she was gone and he didn't want to leave what was left of her alone like that.
He placed the die with the collection of pins left by other students.
"Okay, Sin, let's go-" He'd been turning towards the way home as he spoke, and it was in that moment that he saw a familiar figure in the crowd of students. Alcie. She was okay. She was okay!

"Alcie!" he cried and ran to her, a gliding sort of run with his wings half furled as his legs moved quickly over the ground. He all but tackled her when he reached the water demoness, hugging her tightly for fear that she might be an illusion or a trick. Unlike some of his classmates, he'd never witnessed death, not a real one. And knowing that Red had died and seeing Alcie burst into flames, he'd thought... Seeing her there, alive, after everything... It was the only good thing that had come out of this trip.

Levi turned back to the skull... remembering their professor again before looking back for the hound. Ah- he was leaving back through the doorway...

Do they... really go there to go home? It seemed to be the case. Many of the students passed through and out of sight. The tatzel supposed leaving this place before another ruckus could occur would be a fine idea. She thought of the baku who'd gone off to run around in a panic hugging others despite her condition. Worry struck again. Indeed, the petite ghoul looked shaken. She wasn't really keeping on her feet all too well.

The tatzel confronted the petite ghoul then, crossing her arms across her chest for a moment. Hopefully the baku would listen to reason. Xiu, ya ain't lookin' too well, screecheart. Listen... Levi knelt down, keeping her back curled and offering a hand to the baku to help her get on the tatzel's back. ... lemme take ya home. Need ta git yew fixed up, I think. Levi'd had a broken bone or two in her day, but honestly seeing Xiu with her injuries worried her more than any of her own mishaps.

Nuk let her lift her head from his shoulder, lifting his hand from her hair so she didn't feel too trapped, if she felt like moving. He didn't say anything when she looked at him, returning it with the same melancholy expression before she looked away, returning her head to his shoulder. Reaching up again, he gave her hair a gentle stroke before settling his hand with the other around her waist, pulling her a little closer as he started to get up, making sure she didn't fall as he slowly stood.

"S'ok, I gotcha."

Making sure to keep Shehk out of sight of the remains of their former teacher, Nuk headed towards the door which would take them back to halloweentown, careful to avoid tripping on the gravel that had been kicked up on the battlefield. Glancing over at the skull, the skinwalker paused for a moment, turning back towards it to place his pin down with the others before returning to the portal and stepping through the door.

"What are y- oh.."

It took a moment for her to realize what he was doing, but once she had Shehk didn't fuss as she was picked up. Instead she leaned herself against him, burying her face into his shoulder so that she didn't have to look. Certainly she knew it was there, but...she didn't want to look anymore. The skinwalker was a convenient door against it, her arms firm around his neck to keep herself upright as he carried her.

Even when he moved towards the skull she shifted, burying her face further to avert her gaze from it. She'd said her peace, had a piece, and left her emblem already. She...was ready for the nightmare to be over. But really, something in her gut told her everything had started there, and that it would all get worse.

She had another image for her waking nightmares, sorrow, and it felt like her heart was being teased with how hopeful it felt.

Going home would help, she hoped.

Vaith simply kept an eye on the remains of Red and his other eye on Vieve, as she gathered the remaining ashes she could. Note simply watched from Vaith's shoulder, careful to keep the cultivated silence between them .. He didn't know this ghoul either. Neither did she knew him. But they were connected by a mutual feeling-- an undeniable one. A feeling that one was they were barely able to hold onto the cliff that had once provided them footing, now disappeared under their feet.

They needed to get stronger.

His knees bent up, cheek resting on his knees, his eyes met Xiu's to nod softly, confirming that she was about to leave. His limbs unfolded, extending his good hand out to Vieve.

"Are you ready to go home? You can come with us if you want. Or I'll stay with you here." He offered, his blackened and injured hand coming into view as he rearranged his shoulder for his seated familiar.

Unbelievably exhausted. Going back to the academy would undoubtedly be more so-- But staying here threatened to leave one into the stream of deepening sorrow -- a sorrow that almost bordered on sucking one into it's depths.

With a final shake of his head, West turned away from Levi and her shenanigans, his brow furrowing at Holly's question. He was fairly sure he knew where the cut had gone, but he had no intention of getting into a conversation about that when he could barely speak. Instead he shrugged, then nodded. The sooner they got out of here, the better.

His expression didn't lighten when Savior added her question to the mix. He had no idea how to convey to the Marrowstripe that he and the tatzel had died, so she received a shrug as well. With the hand that wasn't steadying Danny over his shoulder he gestured, motioning them all toward the door. He nodded at Mandy. Yes, they should be going.

He turned one final time to look at what was left of Red. His anger toward her remained, but the tiniest bit of regret was beginning to color his most dominant emotion. He wouldn't miss her skittersharks and he wouldn't forgive her for sending him to that place, but still, no one deserved to go out like that. In the end she had won against that thing in her head. She had protected them all from those... creatures. West rolled his eyes and sighed, closing his gloved hand and reopening it again a moment later. He tossed his pin at the base of her skull, but was out the door before he saw it land.

Mandy hadn't excepted to see the ghoul but managed to give her a wan smile, anything else was asking too much after the night they'd just had.

"Ah, good to see you okay as well Holly." good seemed like such a relative term to describe Mandys state. She was cut, burnt, tired and in mourning, was that good? Not really. But, she could stand, so that was okay.

As West stepped away from the group and headed through the door Mandy gave the great bones one last lingering look.

Halloween never dies....

She stepped through the door and was gone.

Cym's silence was rare, not having gone unnoticed by the others. At her uneasy glance, Aisa's iris eyes softened and closed briefly, remembering briefly, the time of all four of them together before the island. How all of them had been very different back then .. and yet, not so different now. But there was an entire world between those times. Connie comforted Eris .. and Aisa's arms slowly and gently wrapped around on Cym's shoulders. Aisa was so much taller, it being a rather odd fit. But a comfortable one. The world had lost something irreparably precious. A part of their world that they would never be allowed to take back. In their own, rather stoic way, it was hitting them with a vengeance.

The fact, that they could not simply take it back. Death was not something that could be, as Aisa knew best.

There was a silent message in the company of the horsemen: There was no doubt that their worlds might break upon losing one of the heirs. Aisa would do her utmost to make sure that would not happen-- They could-- no, they would not allow their worlds to grow smaller, through the victories of hunters. Too much, the hunters had taken from them-- their once clever minds, coherent and unrivaled amongst the generations of clan leaders .. Not that they hadn't gained the amusement of insanity and it's rather unique viewpoints.

But now, their clans looked upon the heirs with uncertainty. The aftereffects of their time would never go away, it only warped their worlds so and other's opinions of them. But in a way, that quality filtered out the unnecessary and made the necessary prominent. It was difficult to explain but it was also difficult to keep themselves in check. Red's death had emphasized that they must not fall. Fall to the hunters. Fall to insanity. Fall to depths that they could not crawl out of.

Lizzy managed a weak chuckle, tilting her head as she gently rubbed the back of her neck; there were still shallow cuts on her fingers and palms from tugging at the nets, and she winced when it came into contact with her neck, "Y-yeah... I guess you're right..." It didn't lessen the guilt she felt towards her group though.

"Sure..." She blinked, looking a little confused but not quite sure if it was appropriate to ask. Instead, she just quietly nodded, "Go ahead! We'll meet up when we get home. I'll wait for Vieve... I want to make sure that we go home together." Besides, she wasn't about to just leave her behind. Again.

Xiu returned Vaith's nod with a one of her own, only to cringe at the pain that passed through her head. "I have a bit of a headache," She said, turning back to Remi, Raziel, and Lacie and offering them an apologetic smile, "Probably just tired from...from everything that happened. I-I'm going to get going--don't stay too long, okay? You guys are hurt too."

Hand clutched to her head, she started forward towards the door, nearly walking straight into Levi as she stepped up in front of her. Puzzled, she blinked at the tatzel when she crouched down. What was Levi trying to do--oh. Xiu began to shake her head at the offer, but promptly cringed at the headache beating at her skull. Maybe it was best to take Levi up on that offer.

Hesitantly, Xiu climbed onto her back, using her good arm to hang onto the tatzel while her injured arm was stuck stiffly to her side. "I-I sorry to be an inconvenience, jiejie." She murmured, resting her forehead on Levi's shoulder and shutting her eyes in an attempt to relieve her throbbing headache some, "Thank you for the help."

Cady grinned at Bea - then looked down at her clothes and frowned again. "Yeah- naw, I'll be ok."

And then Bul said the magic word.

"SPOOKIES?!"

Nothing more need be said. The ghoul perked her ears and followed her teammates through the door, glancing back at the stony corpse that was all that was left of their professor as she was teleported back to Halloween.

Goodbye, Red.

Never 'a hassle, Xiu. Just rest up'a bit. I'll take ya on through that thar door. Rising with Xiu on her back, Levi hefted a leg on each arm carefully. It looked as though her suspicions about the baku's condition were correct.

With the doorway not too far from them, the tatzel kept a slow pace. Xiu's head rested on her shoulder and the first thought that came to her mind was that Xiu might need to see nurse Cricket. Try n' keep 'wake, screecheart. They were supposed to keep awake when their heads had been injured, right? Something about never waking up again? She'd watched something on the skeeV about it. Levi'd experience death now- she wouldn't have the same occur for Xiu.

The two went on through the door and onto the other side.

She would have slapped his hand away- she didn't need anyone. Even now, when her body was hurting all over. If she leaned on him- what if he fell, and let her fall, too?

Vieve began struggling to stand- it was enough that someone got to see her in this vulnerable state. Her legs were like jelly under her, and her arms were still tender from having been burnt by Red's fire attack.

"I'm fine," she managed, her voice barely audible. She didn't need pity, ever. Considering how small and weak she was already feeling, she didn't.. need anyone to make her feel smaller.

Tears were welling up in her eyes again- but that was stupid. Why was she being so emotional? This was such a far cry from the girl who'd first entered the haunted house, ready for any challenge ever, ready to beat everything up. In the end, though, she was the one who'd been beaten.

"I'm fine," she said again, more to convince herself, than him. Her vision was blurry, now, from crying, and she rubbed at her eyes, only to realise she'd just gotten ash in them, and it burned.

With Savior's hand in her, she made her way to the door as well. Obviously no one had any thing to say so off they went.
