To say you would be an extreme EXAMPLE of ice, would be exactly the same as if we claimed a katon user was an extreme example of fire. So, no. You aren't going to get the bonus just for existing.
And last I knew, you weren't allowed to change your types after you start RPing.

Well then that sucks a**, because there ARE NO EXTREME SOURCES OF ICE anywhere besides where I make it, and I can't use my Ice that I make as a source because it isn't an Extreme example.

If you turned a lake into a winter wonderland, that would be an extreme example. And you get a bonus to ice jutsu anyways, just not as strong as if you were sitting on an iceberg.

I don't get any bonus to Ice jutsu. I get to USE Hyouton jutsu. I wouldn't call that a bonus.
Also, It can't be an example because if that was all it took, I'd just use Ram's head off Doton, and oh hey, I get the benefits.
It just doesn't seem right that someone can do that and get what they want.Besides, I can't Freeze large amounts of water until Jounin rank, so I'm screwed over until Jounin Rank. confused

If you have the elemental type, you get +1 rank to jutsu of that element, and +2 when near an extreme example of said element.
And no, you can't get the bonus just by adding an extra pebble to the area. You'd have to make a massive mountain or something.
Fire - Volcano
Wind - Windstorm, or falling out of an airplane
Lightning - Lightning storm
Earth - Mountain type terrain
Water - The damn ocean - underwater
Sand - Desert
Ice - Glacier
Those are examples of what you would need to get the bonus as I understand it. If you can make it yourself, I would assume you could still get it. It would just take a bit more work than normal.

Also, because your second line is slightly confusing, I feel the need to clarify that you only get the elemental bonus on ONE of your elements.

I was reading through the jutsu list and I noticed the Sound village jutsy/Sensory jutsu. I know I am not of Sound (which is not open as I understand it) but if I were to make a custom-Sound justu, would one need to take 'Sound' as an element?

I have a Question, Just how much mass would I have to make ice before I get the bonus of +2 for elemental? Or could I just use cold breeze and get it?

I second his question, but with the crystal release....I'm sure there's some different scenarios like an ice cave or a crystal cavern or something...
oh, and just a general inquiry, the crystal release says i can manipulate crystal, amount depending on size.
Does tha mean i can just focus chakra, form some crystal and shape it to my will? like make a big, complex sword or is it just like forming a simple wall?

the details are pretty vague, it just says for academy students, then can manipulate an amount of crystal equal to a baseball...
what i want to know, is can i just use it make a dagger or something, or can i manipulate the crystal into something like a small bird capable of flight and scouting

I think the general consensus on the matter of that sort of manipulation is that you can't do stuff that would pretty much qualify as a jutsu on it's own. Such as making spikes out of thin air or something. That sort of thing is kind of mean.
I'm not certain on that though. Not sure we even have set rules for such things.

And Kumo, I already said that you can't just add a tiny bit of the element to the area and call it worthy of the bonus. I expect the only element that can really artificially make an area that gives the bonus is Katon, considering my earlier forest fire statement.

ALL OF YOUR HYOUTON JUTSU ARE AUTOMATICALLY +1 in rank... WITH NO ADDITIONAL COST.
...plus you learn all Hyouton skills faster. An OFFENSIVE ninja gets the same thing, but has to pay a high cost for it, AND has to ADD to the posts needed to learn jutsu. And we don't get any bonus for EXTREME examples of our element (which all Jounin level + individuals would be able to eventually create for themselves more or less.

Yeah, I guess so.
+1 in rank really doesn't do much, Because My ice is strong enough that it won't melt against anything below it's rank, or Nibi fire, Kyuubi fire, and I still don't think Yonbi lava is on the list. So that really doesn't affect me that much.
Yeah, the whole around ten jutsu. confused That would only help me in the learning process, so after that it wouldn't help me any. confused
I know, but literaly An extreme example of Ice I would say would be a snow capped mountain top. I honestly don't think anything less than that, an avalanche, or a blizzard could be considered an extreme example of Ice/ Snow.
Wait, I just noticed something...
We went from extreme source to extreme example. { Not sure, but that might change something. }
