Raquel joined him, adorned in her own PJs as she plopped down gently on his lap sideways, so most of her weight was on the arm chair. "You look exhausted love..." Her long hair had been rimmed down to just past her shoulder blades, still keeping the feminines she loved but making it more manageable. She was wearing her glasses, a thick book in her arms as she kissed his chin softly.

"Darling, please don't get comfortable just yet..." he said with an oddly aloof tone to his voice. With a very arrogant sigh, Damian nearly pushed her right off of him. "Look, there's a chair right over there that you could sit in, or you could go to the library. I'm very... very stressed right now." He rubbed and covered his face as if in pain or great agitation, or both. Silver eyes still peeked out to see her reaction.
His strange act was ruined by a devilish smile before he resumed his relaxed pose in the chair. "Just sit in the library where I won't bother you while studying. Please."
There was one surprise Raquel would get before he proposed, though, and it was sitting in its case, right in the armchair in the library. Without luck, Raquel hadn't found it herself, but now, he would shove her towards it. She needed her old friend.

He struck a nerve with Raquel who stood back, feeling slightly hurt. "Oh...I'm... I'm sorry..." She furrowed her brow, not sure if she were angry at the tone he had taken with her, or guilty she got on his nerves out of nowhere. In either case, she found herself quietly dismissing herself, not wanting to cause further irritation, nor start an argument if her abrasive side kicked in. I do need to read anyhow... she sighed, heading down the hall towards the library.
She opened the door, walking in without really looking up until she practically tripped. She looked to see it was an old guitar case. She blinked blankly, cocking her head as she set it down on the floor gently. "What the-" She looked over her shoulder, then around the room before opening the case.
What she saw literally took her breath away. There lay her lovely old guitar. The one she had given up in order to go to school. Right there... in front of her. Still hardly breathing, she let her shaking hands hover over it, lightly touching the fine details and few scratches, practically feeling all the music she had played on this lovely piece of work flow through her. She was only brought out of her shocked gaze when her fingers brushed lightly against the strings, letting a soft echo of notes ring out. She inhaled sharply, tears welling up into her eyes. "D- d- dami-" But the words wouldn't come. She just sat in dumbfounded silence, staring at her dear old friend.

"I suppose I could have been nice about it, but I had to have my fun." Damian was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed, and looking quite pleased with what he was seeing.
"I found the man you sold that to, and told him how I didn't think you were truly alright with parting with it. I wasn't about to ask him to give it up after what he paid for it, so I paid what he asked, and... there you are." Damian motioned to the guitar and the case as if it were a regular trinket he had brought home. "I hope you aren't mad at me for getting it back after all the trouble you went through to get rid of it."

Raquel swallowed hard, standing suddenly. She turned to Damian, tears in her eyes before rushing to him, practically tackling him to the ground. "thank you! Thank you thank you Thank you!" She cried, hugging him tightly before holding his face into her hands. She looked him dead in the eye, trying not to cry as she kissed him passionately. She had to admit, a piece of her had been missing since this guitar left. A piece of her heart. She needed it so badly but tried to make due without it. It was more than wonderful to have it back.

"Mmff! Mm.." Well, he certainly wasn't expecting that. A hug, maybe, but he could definitely use the kiss. It actually made his cheeks go a bit pink with all her happiness flooding out as it was. "Ah... You're very welcome, love. I hated to see you leave your guitar there..."

Raquel hugged him for a bit longer, just mumbling inaudible things to herself. "Damian..." She shook her head, furrowing her brow. "How much did this cost you?" She asked a bit worried.
She knew he must have paid an arm and a leg for it, since the man who had it was a hard core enthusiast. He wouldn't have just let her go... no she was too special. She was worried Damian spent too much.

"Eh... a fair bit. Nothing I cannot recover from, though. No worries about that, Raquel." Damian tried to act as light-hearted as he could, even if she was giving him that suspicious look. "You are worth every single penny, but you must play for me. That is the only way you can repay me, I'm afraid."
Damian gave her a little bit of a pitying look, as if playing for him was understandably terrible, but it was the only way to get through the ordeal.

Raquel wiped the tears form her eyes, smiling softly. "Fine then..." She took his hand, leading him softly over to the big arm chair in the center of the room, much like she had the first time the got intimate. She sat him down, picking the guitar gingerly from its case, slipping the strap about her neck. The weight of it around her felt so...right. She scooted her self so she was on Damian's lap, his head on her shoulder so she could play for him. She chose a casual yet uplifting little tune she had heard, going through some of the libraries old musci collections from earth. She liked this one because for her it was easy to pick up. Others caught her interest in other ways, but she was saving those to play for Damian on special occasions.

The sleepiness he felt before came flooding back. She played beautifully, and somehow steadily enough so that his head didn't slip from her shoulder. Silver eyes were hidden behind his pale lids as he continued to listen all the way until the notes echoed out into the room to be caught by shadows.
"I have no regrets buying that for you once more, love," he said softly.

Raquel smiled, her own eyes closed. Still playing, she turned her head slightly so her nose was against his cheek. "Thank you darling..." She whispered so sincerely, she was worried she'd start crying again. But she didn't, and just played her heart out to Damian, even switching tunes to the song he sang for her, as well as hers for him, humming the familiar tune softly.

It took a moment for him to recognize the tune she was playing, as he'd never heard it done for the acoustic. But, Damian could pick up on it, and take the beat, so that when he started humming it sounded alright with her playing. He even began softly singing as they sat together with her music.

Raquel smiled softly, the sound of his voice tickling her ear, giving her whole body chills. Damian had that effect anyhow, his singing just amplified it all by 100. Raquel had been playing the song in her mind ever since he had first sung it to her. So on the parts she knew, mostly the chorus, she'd join along, her gentle, sweet voice sounding utterly lovely paired with his in the quiet library.

Their singing together just eradicated any doubts he had in his mind about their engagement. They even sounded right together, something he thought musically was convenient but romantically, it meant something... it had to.
"May I steal you away from the rest of the world? Keep you here, and have you all to myself?" Damian kissed her neck a little, more of a soft tickle as he fawned over her. He loved her, her, an ex-prostitute he'd met on the street outside a hotel.

Raquel played only a moment longer, letting him whisper and coddle over her as she slowly let the guitar fade out. Not moving really an inch, she set her guitar down, letting it lean against the close end table so she could return the cuddles and sweetness.
She always found herself blushing at his exquisite way of coddling her. She slipped her hand up to the side of his face, still curled up in his lap, his head still on her shoulder. She stroked it gently, sighing deeply and closing her eyes. Nuzzling him slightly, she whispered back. "If you wish darling... If my playing makes you smile, I'd sit here for an eternity and strum away just for you... and I couldn't be happier..." She let her whisper trail off, leaning back so she could kiss his neck, opening her eyes slightly to meet his.
