Twisted Euphoria

Adrian thought about it for a moment, and got up, his eyes stopped darting around for now. "Weel I see we're on the same wave length, so for now I'll be willing to help you look for...whatever it is you're looking for." He looked at the other two for a second, his eyes narrowing. "Who're those scunners?" He asked, stepping back slightly, bringing up his arms as if to block any hits or shots that might be aimed at him in the next few seconds.

Tokeru had forgotten that he built it when he had wings, but only for a few seconds. He remembered he had built a small fan system in it as well, to create an updraft and slow the fall, and hoped it still worked.

Please please please activate he prayed fervently.

He saw a glimmer of light approaching, and then the fans started. The gusts slowed his fall, but not enough.

He fell onto the grate with a resounding smack, and groaned.

Though she was a vampire, Edith's grace hardly improved all that much, her reflexes were golden but her landings, well, needless to say she wasn't going to be a pilot in the future. Luckily for Tokeru, she flailed just enough with the gust to send herself flying past him momentarily until she fell on her a**. "OUCH! MOTHER ********! ******** s**t! FALLLING ON YOUR a** FROM A BAZILLION FEET UP WHEN YOU'RE A VAMPIRE HURTS LIKE ******** HELL!! OW!" She then rolled her eyes to herself and jumped up as if nothing had happened to her and ran over to Tokeru. 'Now that you've gotten that out of your system, function and do something useful, dumb a** ... Gotcha me, you should really stop thinking to yourself since one of these days you're going to accidentally say it out loud and people will realize just how insane you are ... Gotcha again, nag. Yeah yeah, whatever.' She went to inspect Tokeru to assure that nothing had been broken and though he may have a thousand bruises, nothing was broken, amazingly. Eden then gently hauled him up off the ground and looked at him, hands on hips. "Now what is this suicide mission all about? I think I deserve to know after falling on my a** from over one hundred feet up."

Tokeru groaned and shook his head. He was out of breath and couldn't speak, that and he was still very weak and exhausted.

He waved her aside and stood up. Wavering for a few moment before standing upright properly.

He took a few small breaths and walked to the closest wall. He placed his hand on the wall, and a sequence on lights appeared. Tokeru turned to Edith. "Follow lights, help please."

Yet again Tokeru's breathlessness prevented Meredith from detecting that he was actually speaking properly and coherently again. She was way too distracted to really notice the way that he was speaking to her, her brain just didn't recognize that it was different and no click went off about it at all. She sighed as he decided to yet again push away from her and she sharply inhaled and exhaled through her nostrils even though it wasn't required of her to breathe any longer. She'd never stopped breathing, the habit was still with her since her life had depended upon it at one point. That was another thing that helped her to blend in with the humans was that she actually inhaled and exhaled as a normal person would. It was just better to blend in since it was more convenient and people didn't think you were scary as hell even though they kind of already thought that she was crazy since she walked around with a huge-a** axe across her back and they figured she was going to butcher someone with it. At times she did feel like it but at the moment all she wanted to do was use it to smash the lights out. They were hurting her light-sensitive eyes since her pupils were fully dilated so that her eyes were entirely black. "Yeah yeah." She then placed her sunglasses on, which she never left without any longer and started to walk down the long passageway.

Tokeru was glad for his love's support, and knew that if she wasn't there he wouldn't have been able to get this far.

He stumbled repeatedly, over and over, and almost fell flat on his face more times than he could count, yet he never did thanks to the support of his love.

He saw the lights end, in a seemingly dead end, and they stopped. Waiting.

By the time Tokeru had reached Meredith, she was merely standing still and inspecting the wall as if they were in Final Fantasy X and the walls would just have a magical glyph that they could touch in order to open the door. "Assuming," Eden decided to say aloud, "that this place isn't like one of the temples in Final Fantasy X, we're just standing here staring at nothing. You waiting for something magical to happen or are we just completely wasting our time here? You know you shouldn't be here and that you should be back at the infirmary resting so if this proves to be useless I'm gonna be pissed as ********, right?" Her patience was running thin but for her love she'd probably put up with a shitload more of this before she actually exploded and became absolutely filled with rage or anger. She just hoped she only had to bear with this stupidity or brilliance though it seemed like stupidity just a little while longer and Tokeru would either give up or find what he was looking for and leave this place. Either way worked since she just wanted him back at Haven's infirmary resting where he was supposed to be right now.

Tokeru collapsed to the floor, and his head bobbed back and forth. He had hoped it hadn't happened, but it appeared the recognition software had failed.

The floor, we need to smash through the floor. There's supposed to be an elevator shaft we are going down right about now. We need to break through this floor and climb down.

"You know what?" Edith thundered as she turned to Tokeru, her voice resonating down the passageway they'd come down. "This is absolutely ******** ridiculous and pointless. I don't know why the ******** I'm going along with this but you know what? I really need something to smash right now and if it must be a floor then a floor it shall be." With that she unsheathed her giant axe and began hacking at the ground. Seeing as the axe was blessed and whatnot, stone was hardly anything against the battle-hardened thing. She didn't even forsurely know what it was made out of, some mixture of metals but it worked hella nicely. As she pounded at the floor, rocks began to loosen and eventually she managed to beat the ground in. She continued her massive assault upon the floor, occasional sparks taking flight only to disappear seconds later. The sparks hurt her eyes just a slight bit but she beared with it and just continued to smash the floor with her brute strength. Finally, after a matter of minutes, she managed to penetrate through the floor and into the elevator shaft that Tokeru had been blabbering about. "Now what?" She asked from down inside the shaft, clinging to the huge cables.

Tokeru looked down the shaft, and realized he wouldn't be able to climb down.

Go down to the bottom, should be around 600 feet or so, and bring the car down from inside the door, there'll be a button down there.

He leaned back against the wall, and blew a kiss to his love.

This was ******** unbe-friggin'-lievable! Why was she to climb down six hundred feet to retrieve an elevator and bring it back up for him to use? What the ******** was he wanting to accomplish here? He still hadn't told her and it was beginning to frustrate her to the point that she wanted to slam someone's head in. "If this is ******** pointless I'm going to be so ******** pissed. What's the point of this, honestly?" She shouted up to Tokeru as she began sliding down the shaft. She'd slide for about twenty feet at a time and then would take about another twenty to slow down again. She did this a few times until she managed to reach the bottom of the thing, though it seemed like it'd taken forever. Though Tokeru's instructions were a little confusing, Edith figured that all she needed to do was go down there and press the elevator button. Her simplistic mind had narrowed it down to that since everything else had been rendered irrelevant in her mind. She located the button and pushed it lightly, remembering not to crush it in her frustration and with her super strength and waited for it to come on down.

Tokeru knew his love was confused and angry, but it couldn't be helped.

He rested for the few minutes it took for the elevator to begin moving, then started awake.

When the elevator reached the bottom, he was standing, leaning against the wall.

"Sorry love, I know i'm being hard to read, but it's important."

He waited for her reponse before doing anything else.

Of course she was confused and angry but that was mainly because she was worried for her Angel and didn't appreciate him diverting her questions that she was asking him. As for reading him, he wasn't allowing her to see the intent of this little visit to the Chapter House and she was respecting it and not prodding it out of him but it sure was irking her. She brought the elevator up to Tokeru's floor, estimating which level he'd be, accidentally passing by him a few times and missing his floor by not hitting her target. Eventually, though she managed to hit her mark and she brought the elevator right to Tokeru. She opened it, a peeved look upon her countenance. "Can you ******** tell me what this is about now if it's soooo important? There's a reason that I'm engaged to you and I'd trust that you'd trust me enough to tell me whatever this is. Just tell me and I'll lighten up." She was standing in the doorway, almost prepared to block his entrance into the elevator if he refused to tell her. However, she wasn't sure if she'd take advantage of his weakness like that however peeved she was.

Tokeru stumbled into her arms. "Not yet, soon" he whispered.

He waited for her to either help him along, or just let him pass.

Edith rolled her eyes and decided to allow him in though she was too annoyed to actually help him into the elevator and halfway through him making his way through the door she began shutting it. The rushed action and inconsideration for Tokeru showed that she was having a small hissy fit and that she was very unpleased with his response. In turn, she did not respond to him but simply chose to childishly face away from him, crossing her arms across her chest, closing her eyes and pointing her nose up into the air to clearly demonstrate that she was royally pissed off. She took a small vow of silence not to speak to him until he was ******** willing to tell her why the hell they were here and what the hell they were doing. All she knew was that he'd better have a good explanation for not telling her why the hell he was insisting upon being here or she was going to be one seriously pissed vampire and when pissed about all she did was yell and take her anger out on others. Man she was going to need to go hunting tonight.
