Cryptic Angel Urgh... some artists really irritate me. Myself and, we'll call her S, agreed to a 15k couple sketch. I send trade, it sits while she works. She PMs me letting me know it'll be more than we agreed to - S wanted 20k, I settled on 18, so I resent the trade. She sends me the marked+digicammed version [5 days ago, waiting for the proper copy], I finalize trade. And she asks for a tip. Normally I do tip, but I found her attitude + increase in price after it was agreed upon to be rather unbusinesslike, so I declined. And she says in the description on her DA, "person i drew it for was not very appreciative. *sigh* no tip. X(" I dunno, it really got to me. Some people... /vent *snugs* That sucks. sad

LittleDream, that was me. We solved it and she was'nt totally rude. Like the other day when I cought a cheater in my art contest. I just showed her the original pictures and refered to the copy FAQ, all very politely. She denied copying chii from chobits, called me b***h and told me to ******** off. :/
Anyway I got some pictures of Raesha and her sis plus Emelyn I think. :3 Leinef sent me an original picture and included about 10 more. biggrin Totally awesome art. heart

I find it quite hard to collect 50 pieces of art. Because I only commission artists who's style I like/ skills are at least equalling if not better than mine. ( Maybe I'm too picky D: ) And those artists, most of the time, have a full shop/charges 300k-1000k/is taking 3 months to finish a piece.
I had about 8 million pure to spend on art. Now I'm down to 900k, and I really don't know where all the gold went o_o;; Because I've received only about 20 pieces of art... including freebies/gifts.

That's quite understandable. I like the way you think, but it's pricy. ^^ Pity. sad I'm very curious about your gallery though. :3 Must me hawt.
I have about 250 pieces so far and I'd say 200 of them are'nt very profesionall but I still love all of them.
Try to apply as a Jr. Art whore?

Ha, my collection is at about 325, and I've paid for... probably 200. A good idea if you're looking for quantity over quality [even though I do <333 all of my pictures] is to try the Art Freebies forum. Make a request thread, or play along in the Draw The Person Above You game.

My suggestion for any prospective member of the guild is this: if you really want to join, just commission anyone (;
Fortunately for slackers like me (who would probably never take my own advice) I had over the requirement amount before I even knew this guild existed.
It's a fun little guild (: I'll say one of the things I like best about it is that whenever someone posts a commission that I like, I track down the artist and cross my fingers that they're accepting paid commissions - it's a completely excellent system (;

I'm with Audley. 3nodding This is a great way of finding good artists, lots of people searching is better then doing it yourself.
If you want even more suggestions black moonrise, I suggest you host an art contest. I'm having my first right now (I think I've invited you even...?) and I've gotten a lot of great art allready. :3
Wow you brought people to the guild! Gotta go being social I have quests.

How many pieces do you have in your collection now?
As for me, I have no gold - it's real money commissions all the way (:
Well, sort of (; Any gold I do have is generally funded by periodic bouts of commitment to fishing and the casino, as well as selling donation items. I think a fair amount of people in this guild are artists themselves or have been on Gaia for a long time, so I imagine selling their art funds their habit, as well as having just been around forever and having collected items worth a squidillion gold along the way.

I managed to get a couple picture from Gaia's Kuro Akira, and a halfbody from Ecthelian .>...> by kiriban stalking on DA xD
Yumeh's also doing commissions herself when she's low on gold xDDDD....and now I've found myself a sponsor , who likes my art so much that she said to draw for her whatever I want xDDDD...last time I got 10 dark halo letters commissioned especially for me...it's like...$25 rl commish o.o..I can't believe she actually thought my art is worth so much gonk heart heart heart
...why did I never thought about the 'draw the person above you' thread gonk ? I have one OC that can be made completely fom Gaian items, and probably one more, but I have to experiment with some items xD.... I have to earn the gold and stalk my mules xDDD
