MARAUDER'S ERA PETER PROFILE IS GO!!!

----
PETTIGREW, peter andrew

the playwright
a little about you

alias; THE DANMEISTER.
age; two hundred and seventy three.
gender; i has a v****a.
roleplay experience; ten years.
availability; I can usually pop in every day or so.
other characters; I play Sibs. :3

casting call
the basics

full name; Peter Andrew Pettigrew
nicknames;
    Most people call him Peter, though it's been shortened to Pete before. He might be fondly referred to as Petes by those who love him . . . if they existed. The Marauders call him Wormtail or Wormy. Most professors call him Pettigrew, or just refer to him as 'foolish boy' or 'cowardly boy' amongst themselves. Most of the girls in his grade quietly refer to him as "the ugly one".

age; Seventeen.
birthdate; April 16, 1960
house and year; Gryffindor; Seventh
alliance; Undecided.
    His friends, the Marauders and true Gryffindors at heart, fully support the Order and despise all Death Eaters and their sympathizers. However, Peter is a bit nervous about making a decision. Though he is a Gryffindor, bravery has never really been an evident trait in him. He tells people that he is with the Order, but this is simply on principle, as he is not one to leave his friends--people he know will protect him. However, if the time comes to decide, and his friends are not there to protect him . . . he will go with whoever is strongest.

blood status; Half-blood.
    Though both of his parents are wizards, his grandmother on his father's side is a muggle. This voids the criteria for a pureblooded family.

sexuality; Gay (but he tries his damned hardest to look straight).
    In fact, Peter might not even realize that he is homosexual. He hasn't really gotten very far in the sexual department, because, well . . . that should be pretty much a given. He's never been considered attractive by anyone--not even his mother. (She'd always avoid the question and say something about how he has the bluest eyes she'd ever seen.) However, to deny any claims that he might be (as those who teased him put it) a "poof", he always tries to make comments about girls in attempts to make himself look like he's attracted to them.

animal familiars; None. He uses the community owls.
canon or original; Canon, but his younger self is hardly ever conveyed.
anything else?;
    Peter's wand is Chestnut and Dragon Heartstring, 9.25 inches, and very brittle.

    A wand describes the personality of the witch or wizard that owns it. They don't only represent the physical appearance; they also allow a peek into the true character of a person. For Peter, his wand aptly matches him in both appearance and in personality.

    Though Peter is not very smart and he doesn't try his best in any of his subjects, he does seem to have a natural knack for Transfiguration, which Chestnut wands are known to improve. Even with studying, however, he is hopeless at both Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. These subjects can be taken in the literal and in the figurative sense.

    Becoming an animagus takes effort, intelligence, and persistence. Though he had the support of his friends, he still managed to become an animagus. He transformed himself into something--even if it was not as impressive as the larger animals his friends became. He is also the kind of person who can change in character, as well, to fit a situation. This is not always a good thing, however, because he is easily swayed.

    Dragon heartstring is known to enhance the power of a wand. It's built for power--not for subtle magic. Peter is anything but subtle. And, Peter is built for power. Though he doesn't have much to speak for in the strength department, he is definitely stout, with large shoulders and a secure bone structure. His weight tends to take away some of his possible strength, but it is still, undeniably, there.

    Power, in the scientific sense, is work over time. Peter does not grasp concepts well, and, therefore, has to continue studying and working hard for long periods of time. This long and hard work completed over time leads to him becoming a much more powerful wizard than those around him would begin to suspect--if only he would put forth much more effort.

    His wand is rather short, measuring off at a laughable 9.25 inches. This describes his height, since he is much shorter than most of his classmates. Wands tend to be a mirror in more ways than one, and it proves true with this concept of coming up short. He doesn't really have everything, nor give everything, that someone like him should. Consider the fact that he is around some of the most popular boys in his house and year. However, he doesn't really show any of the good qualities that he does. In fact, they tend to make up for his faults.

    Finally, the condition of his wand puts the final adjective-laced icing on the proverbial cake of his personality. It is brittle--meaning it is prone to break, snap, or crack when introduced to pressure. Peter caves incredibly easily when it comes to peer pressure. If someone badgers him enough, or threatens him, he will almost without will change sides or opinions. He is the epitome of weak-willed.

the costume department
the physical appearance

playby; Tadhg Murphy
hair;
    Almost always in need of a wash, Peter's hair is best described as a mousy brown, which is fitting if you think about it. His hair, when clean, is mostly brown with a hint of blonde. It's shaggy and a little too long, but this might be influenced by his friends, who tends to keep their hair a bit longer than the established norm for a boy's hair length.

eyes;
    Though the color isn't very apparent, Peter has blue eyes. They look as if they were once strikingly blue, but were watered down to subdue the color and intensity they may have once had. Peter tends to cry rather easily, so sometimes it's hard to even discern his eye color at all.

    They are a little small and set rather close on his face. His eyes tend to dart a lot, and they never really seem to convey a lot of emotion--but rather, it seems to just emphasize his lack of emotion (or just shows that he really doesn't want to express how he feels at all).

height/weight;
    Peter is rather short for his age, leveling off only at 5'5". He's not much taller than most of the girls in his grade, or of those below him. He wishes that he were taller, but not even a simple charm could fix his height (or lack thereof). He's not very chubby, but he's a bit above normal weight, since he is 163 pounds.
    build;
      Short and fat would be the best way to describe Peter, but this doesn't necessarily cover it all. True, he is rather short, but his shoulders are broad and his bone structure shows that if he just tried to tone his body, he has the potential to be very strong. Though he's not obese, Peter is slightly overweight. He has a bit of chub on his belly and arms, but nothing terribly bad. One of these days, though, he might let himself go, but as for now, he's not that bad off. That doesn't mean a diet wouldn't do him any good.

      He's got a bit of chub on his arms and around his belly, but not to the point that he's got man-boobs or anything. In fact, he's hardly what anyone would call really overweight. His hands hardly have any fat on them at all (in fact, they get cold quite easily). His weight is definitely not well distributed, however, and tends to be more accentuated in some places rather than others.

    anything else?;
      He has a bit of an overbite that makes his lip push out a little. His complexion is pasty, and he's got a squeaky voice. His right arm has a long jagged scar from a run-in with his neighbor's dog. He also has a pointy nose, and parts of his face are reminiscent of that of a rat. No wonder girls aren't attracted to him . . .

    strengths;
    • Easily adaptable. He can adjust his mannerisms to match any situation or the people he's around. He's pretty flexible in character and personality.
    • Seemingly innocent intentions. He has this way of making people feel like he's trustworthy, even if he might not be.
    • Ambition. If he has the motivation, Peter has great ideas in mind. He has these hopes and dreams that are very achievable if he only applied himself.
    • Honest. Though some of his ideas may be a little sneaky, he tends to speak with this raw honesty that can be rather relieving.
    • Silent steps. His soft steps make it easier for the Marauders to sneak around at night unnoticed.

    weaknesses;
    • He is easily manipulated.
    • He changes alliance for his own self-interest.
    • The fight-or-flight characteristic found in every person is incredibly one-sided in him. He would never fight but simply run to whoever could protect him.
    • He has ambition, but he doesn't have the real drive to do what it takes to reach his goals.
    • He is lazy and doesn't like to apply himself.

    • that his patronus and animagus really define him
    • betraying his friends
    • truly being selfish to the core
    • never being able to stand up for himself
    • being called out for his changes in alliance

    • make some more friends
    • become courageous
    • create something worthwhile

    patronus; A rat.
      Peter's true character really isn't looking to be so good. Even his animagus form has seen right through him. He is, so it seems, sneaky to the core. He lives in his own self-interest. But Peter can't quite grasp this. If he only lives for himself, wouldn't be something more of a Slytherin? A classic symbol of impurity, it also represents his blood status, as well as his intentions. However, rats are also intelligent by nature. If Peter only applied himself, he could perhaps be top of the class. He just lacks the drive. He also easily trained, meaning that he is easily manipulated. He doesn't really have a strong will.

    boggart; His father, looking very angry, waving a mouse trap menacingly.
      He feels like his father really has it in for him. He doesn't know if his father takes out his anger on him only to avoid taking it on his mother, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. The hurt is never physical, but the look on Paul's face is enough to make Peter burst into tears. The anger and accusation makes his spine just break--like the mouse trap does to any rodent stupid enoguh to take the bait. It damages him emotionally, but the rat is, apparently, his representation of character, proven true with his patronus and animagus form. These forms aren't really Peter, but when his animagus form is kicked, it hurts all the same . . .

    dementor;
      He had no idea that this could happen. He was just a boy of twelve, staying at home over the holidays. His mother had insisted that he went home, despite his begging and pleading. His father sent him a letter, one that was polite and almost loving, if it weren't for the curt language and formalities. His disconnection stung at Peter, like lemon juice on cuts, reminding him that things weren't ever going to be the same again.

      Peter had a duck then. His neighbor, a kind woman who owned more animals than one could possibly imagine, gave him a duckling about a year before. He named it Bismarck, after the German, Marck short. He was attached to the duck, but he hadn't thought that another neighbor, a rude and spiteful telemarketer, would forget to lock his dog up one night.

      He heard the quacking, but he had been eating dinner, and his father insisted that he stay there and eat with them. He ate in silence, glancing at the door nervously. He wanted to push his chair away, leave the room and run out, check if everything was all right. A bark caught his attention, and it became harder to repress the urge.

      Finally, dinner ended, and he was allowed to run out the door.Since he saw nothing from his position, he walked out into the small yard, and looked into the area around him. What he saw shocked him, anger and sadness stinging at his eyes.

      Marck was in the jaws of the neighbor's dog, a vicious mutt that hardly ever got the chance of live food. The dog would let it go and let the duck gather its senses, before it would attack it again and n** at it, biting at its legs and body. Feathers were everywhere; blood spotted the ground. Peter ran forward to fight the dog off. His parents obliviously cleaned the dishes.

      Peter tore the dog away, stealing the limp Marck from him. The already bloodied jaws bit into Peter's right arm, causing him to cry out in pain as the teeth sunk in and ripped through his skin. He pulled his arm away, the teeth dragging down his arm and tearing the skin where it traveled. The dog circled around him, but Peter pulled Bismarck into his arms and held him close, feeling the faint but fast heartbeats as he held the duck tight to his chest. Then, he ran. The dog followed, wanting its stolen treasure back, and to perhaps bite Peter once more.

      He skidded as he turned to run to the other side of the house, losing the dog temperarliy. He kept running, just to make sure, and eventually stopped under a nearby tree, where he sat down (though it was more like collapsed, since he wasn't in very good shape). He looked at the duck in his arms.

      Bismarck was dead.

      The tears came much faster and easily, the hot tears making his already red face feel worse. A million thoughts went through his head. This wouldn't have happened if he had gone outside before dinner. This wouldn't have happened if he had checked to see if the neighbor's dog was locked up. This wouldn't have happened if he had cared a little more. This wouldn't have happened if he hadn't gotten the duck in the first place. This wouldn't have happened if he had cared more. This wouldn't have happened if he was stronger. This wouldn't have happened if he made better grades. This wouldn't have happened if he tried harder.

      This wouldn't have happened if Peter hadn't existed at all.

      The duck could have kept on living in bliss at the lady's house. Bismarck didn't deserve an ending like this. But Peter felt he had brought this upon the duck. As the thoughts gestated in his mind, it began to rain. The gesture from nature was bittersweet, considering that rain was Bismarck's favorite weather. Peter stood, the duck in his arms, and began to walk home slowly, the rain soaking him as the blood fromt he duck stained his shirt.

      He could have done something. He was sure of it. Here marked his official feelings of worthlessness and incompetance. Like many who are depressed or unhappy with themselves, he felt that things that were only slightly related to him were entirely his fault.

      Peter's arm felt numb as the rain drilled the cold into it. After this incident, the feeling in his right arm would be very dull. He couldn't even feel it if someone were to accidentally cut his hand. The feeling left the arm, and with it left his duck, the one being he felt actually might have cared for him. He believed he could have helped that duck. But he didn't. Bismarck was dead.

      And it was all his fault.

    personality description;
      Peter's character is nothing remarkable. In fact, he's not really anything you would call outstanding. Most would just think of him as being some cowardly and sneaky person, true to the identity of both his patronus and his animagus form. However, Peter does have some sense of right and wrong within him, though he might not necessarily act upon it.

      Tending to be rather emotional, Peter gets attached to those who will be his friend quite easily. However, he always seems to have his best interest in mind. If it came to picking between his friends and dying, well . . . isn't loyalty a Hufflepuff trait, anyhow? Regardless. He finds great values in those around him, but he doesn't necessarily trust that they really feel the same way about him. In fact, it seems more apparent to him that they would trade him, the useless and untalented Marauder, for their safety. Though he doesn't have any real reason to, he doesn't feel that anybody, no matter how they insist that they are his friend, will stand up for him when they are obviously outnumbered and out powered. Keeping his sense of worthlessness in mind, he'll usually side with whoever is stronger. For now, these are his friends. But they might not be the strongest side forever . . .

      He is rather nervous and doesn't really believe in himself. He's never going to go out of the way to compliment himself, feeling that since no one else compliments him, he must have nothing worth complimenting of. (His mother once told him that if he never complimented, no one ever will. This really didn't help things.) He will, however, shower those that he admires with compliments and words of adoration. In fact, Peter pretty much lives to compliment Sirius and James. With Remus, he feels that they connect on the same level, instead of the level of amazing and unremarkable. He doesn't mean that Remus is as bad as himself, but rather that Remus doesn't need his compliments to be his friend. He might be wrong in this thinking, but it's how he feels.

      Peter has nightmares almost every single night. Usually, he'd wake crying, but he could never really remember what they were about. It just proves that he has this ever-lingering fear of, well, everything (or perhaps nothing). Things that he doesn't understand tend to frighten him. He's not very accepting of anything, or anyone, himself included. It takes him awhile to warm up to new concepts. He is, therefore, close minded. Though all these traits seem negative, most people really can't tell that he's like that just by being with him. Though he lacks charm and grace, he has this undeniable lure of seemingly innocent intentions, though most people won't stay around him long enough to find out.

      He is sort of slow, not only educationally but also conversationally. He doesn't really understand jokes the first time they're said, or make connections that easily. His thought process isn't that fast, so in a conversation he tends to pick his words wisely so he doesn't have to scramble his brain for some sort of retort.

    on-stage
    the background

    nationality; British.
    hometown; Reading, Berkshire. He was born there too. Hasn't ever moved.
    parents; Mary Pettigrew (née Moonshine, 57, nurse at St. Mungo's, mother and Paul Pettigrew (59, unemployed, father)
    siblings; None. His mother soon went into menopause after Peter was born.
    other family; Regulus Moonshine (deceased, humanitarian, distantly related)
      He claimed to have developed a potion that would decrease the hag’s appetite for human flesh, at the cost of his own skin.

    background history;

    BUT, Och! I backward cast my e'e.
    On prospects drear!
    An' forward, tho' I canna see,
    I guess an' fear!
      Mary and Paul were high school sweethearts. Everyone knew they were probably going to hook up at one point or another, and when Paul finally had the courage to ask her out, they were such a sickeningly sweet couple that everyone knew that they'd probably spend a lifetime together.

      Mary graduated first, and Peter followed two years after. They kept in touch then by owl, continuing their relationship. They were a match for each other-- whenever they argued (which was rare), they would actually talk it over and fix their problems. Soon after both of them were out of school, they decided to get married. However, they were a smart couple, and decided to wait a while before they would have any kids, so they could get financially stable. They waited. They waited for 20 years. Paul wasn't jumping at the idea of having every night interrupted by a kid's crying, and Mary wasn't all too excited about having her belly expanded by what was, basically, a parasite.

      When she did finally get pregnant, however, Paul was more than happy to be there and support her. Peter was delivered a healthy baby (although slightly heavier than most of the other babies) on April 16, 1960, at 2:30 in the afternoon. 1960 was the year of the rat. A rat person born during the day is in trouble. Such an individual tends to be cowardly and afraid of his own little shadow. This proved true in the case of Peter Pettigrew.

    I'M truly sorry man's dominion,
    Has broken nature's social union,
    An' justifies that ill opinion,
    Which makes thee startle
    At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
    An' fellow-mortal!
      He grew up a little jumpy and was much more easy to startle than other kids around his age. He hardly ever gotten beaten up, however, because he always seemed to support whoever was the strongest in the playground. He was good at sucking up to whoever he knew would stick up for him later. Peter was very apt at making himself out to look loyal and friendly to whoever he chose to side with, though his true colors would show when a fight would break out between groups, and he would go with whoever was stronger.

      His mother came from a long line of people that would sacrifice themselves in order to help others. They were selfless, kind, and considerate people who would go to great lengths in order to acheive something that would promote the wellbeing of every Take the case of Regulus Moonshine, who let hags eat at his skin so he could develop some sort of potion to quell their appetite for good. This good trait did not get passed down to Peter, who really lived for his own survival. He didn't start this way of living until he realized that no one was really interested in being his friend. He tended to go unnoticed, but when someone would confront him violently, he would run to whoever he knew would protect him. He didn't believe that he had the strength to protect himself.

      This didn't change a lot when he got invited into Hogwarts. Peter, to this day, still doesn't know why the Sorting Hat picked him for Gryffindor. He knows that the hat had his reasons, but he doesn't find himself to be daring, chivalrous, or have lots of nerve. Perhaps nervous, but never to have lots of nerve. However, he doesn't realize that he has the daring to protect himself by switching sides and validating his own decisions. Gryffindors have been known to be self-righteous, which Peter is full of. He always claims that the things he does were right, no matter what the consequences. He has an excuse for everything.

    WEE, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
    O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
    Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
    Wi' bickering brattle!
    I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
    Wi' murd'ring pattle!
      He immediately found that James, Sirius, and Remus were the most popular boys in the Gryffindor house. For James and Sirius, it was obvious. They were both attractive, and girls felt instantly attracted to them. They were a bit mean and crude, but also funny. Remus was popular for a different reason--people were interested in him precisely because he didn't reach out to people. He was quiet and mysterious, which made everyone curious.

      Peter was enthralled by James and Sirius. He knew that they were mean to those they didn't like, so he decided he'd rather stick with them. Though he doesn't know if their friendship is genuine of if it's merely out of condescending pity, they allowed Peter to stay with them, as well as Remus. Peter felt more of a friendship with Remus, who wasn't as loud and brash as the other two. The four of them called themselves the Marauders.

      During the first year, it soon became evident that Remus was a werewolf. At first, Peter was scared, he's scared about a lot of things. James and Sirius talked him into calming down, and they began to ponder about what to do. They knew that the full moons must be rough for Remus, their friend, and they wanted to make it easier for him. Suddenly, it came to them: they had to become animagi.

      Peter had a hard time grasping the animagus concept, but by their fifth year, they all had it down. However, Peter's form came as a shock to him. A rat? Really? He would sometimes sit in his room and just ponder about his personality and what that meant. Animagus forms were meant to really describe the character of the one who learns it. The others were strong and brave animals, whereas he was a small, weak, and generally sneaky rat. The prospects weren't very promising.

    THY wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
    It's silly wa's the win's are strewin!
      This hard work was only fueled by what happened in his first year, soon after making friends with Remus, Sirius, and James. That year, Peter got an owl informing him that his father had been badly injured in an accident that he didn't quite know the details of. He was rendered unemployed, and became slow and easily angered. His age began to show. When Peter came home, he didn't find comfort in the family much longer, except for when his mother would stay with him.

      His dad was prone to violent outbursts after his accident. Though they never really involved physical abuse, there were harsh words thrown around. They never did much to help Peter's already very present sense of worthlessness. No matter what his other would say to calm him down afterwards, he couldn't get over the idea that he wasn't really of any value to anyone.

      However, he soon found that he had his own place as well, when they found that he was the only way they could enter the shrieking shack. He finally felt that he had some value to the group where most people felt he didn't belong. They developed the Marauder's Map as well, and they included him in almost every prank or trick they did. He felt like he belonged, moreso than his family had ever made him feel.

    BUT, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
    In proving foresight may be vain;
    The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
    Gang aft agley,
    An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
    For promis'd joy!

God I love giving characters horribly crippling problems. 8D

Godfrey: Daddy Complex
Ivanna: Grandma Complex
Rowle: Alcoholic
Micheal: Mother Complex

.... mmmm...

Gavin's like, my only one non messed up character. Then again, he's the perfect happy romance story cowboy. 8D So of course though no real problems have ever plagued him, he still appreciates the little things.

He is like, the hottest gary stu ever. 8D

I THINK CHUCK NORRIS IS A GARY STU, GUYZ.

-------------

BTW: I have a Rodolphus Lestrange account as well. O_o He's obviously from a different universe, has no clue in the hell how he got here, and was found without a wand by a group of muggles. Well, even disoriented he fought as hard as he could, swearing his mouth off, and when he woke up next, after having his a** beat, he was in this place. O_o Turned out he got beat up by some mob guys. The mob boss took him in, and a few years later, in true mob tradition, he strangled the guy with a piece of chicken wire one night when they were drinking and reminiscing. 8D Since then he's been a muggle mob boss in London. xD

So, yeah. He keeps a low profile because if the Ministry got wind that a death eater 'traveler person thingy' was around, they'd of course take him in and... subject him to Hermione. D:

XD So he's gone muggle. BUT HE WEARS A HOT AWESOME DARK PURPLE PINSTRIPE SUIT.

Just... thought you should know that. O_o INFORMATION OVERLOAD.

Then again, it helps to inform you about stuff like that...

Awesome Peter, Janine. 8D Seriously, he's just so.... Yayyy! IT's so long that there's just too many words to describe that profile's awesomeness.

(And it's about time someone other than me talked so much, even if it's copy and paste, DAMMIT.)

@Hagrid: XD Aw, poor Hagrid.

*Rolls around in the awesomeness of Peter's profile*

"though Peter is not very smart and he doesn't try his best in any of his subjects, he does seem to have a natural knack for Transfiguration," Peter was enthralled by James and Sirius. He knew that they were mean to those they didn't like, so he decided he'd rather stick with them. Though he doesn't know if their friendship is genuine of if it's merely out of condescending pity, they allowed Peter to stay with them, as well as Remus. Peter felt more of a friendship with Remus, who wasn't as loud and brash as the other two" and " He is also the kind of person who can change in character, as well, to fit a situation. This is not always a good thing, however, because he is easily swayed" are three things I used to shove in my Peter canon too. XD <3333

MAKE HIM MAKE HIM MAKE HIMMMMM. heart

@Cassy: HE HAD BETTER WATCH OUT. HERMIONE HAS DRY-ERASE MARKERS AND PUPPETS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND CHILDHOOD ABUSE. XD

I always imagined James and Sirius's teasing of Peter got really nasty when they were bored and Snape wasn't around; and that Remus occasionally got very short with him when helping Peter with classwork, snappish almost, because James and Sirius would be laughing at them and telling Remus to just give it up because Peter was hopeless. Said stress had Peter crying himself to sleep on occasion, and one night Remus couldn't take James and Sirius's giggling about it any longer -- he got up and went to awkwardly comfort him... and one thing led to another.

Peter is my favorite profile I've made. <3 But I've never been able to play him. (I'm horrible. I make a profile and then drop out of a roleplay. XP )

I'M TEKTEKING HIM. <3

I think it's safe to say a very large number of characters have an innate fear of Hermione and her puppets. xD

@Peter: <3 Awwwwuh, Peter. D: Peter needs hugs. D< NAO.

Kat's been begging me to roleplay out a group therapy session for ages XD If my mother stays at church long enough tonight, Kat might be able to use her laptop when she gets off work so we can roleplay at the same time without having to wait a bazillionmillion hours. XD

Yay! Roleplaying is fun. ;D

I went to church today. 8D Unitarian Universalism ftw. We have a talk thing, then we break for 15 minutes and return, sit in a circle and talk about how the program made us feel.

xD HIPPIE CHURCH.

Peter/Remus is sooooo good omfg. I became hooked on it after reading 203948230498234098 drabbles about Peter.
