Alright, here's the first copy of a suit that I'll be showing you guys. If you can't read the text I've penciled in don't worry its more for me than anything else. Well, dang that larger then I thought it would be.

From what general conception of the Altresians is, I think their armor would be even more traditional and decorative than that. Definitely something very flamboyant and paladin-esque. This is kind of in the realm of what I mean:

Kinda of. They no doubt have ceremonial armours, but the majority of the Empire are Vanguard followers. They are a very practical people, their main goal is to maintain the Empire and win. Now, what I showed you is just the Light Infantry and Aviator suit the Heavy Infantry are all Justicars, that type of armour would be more common among them. Though a little less flamboyant.

so this is like the Imperial guard to The Justicars' Space marines, then? I won't deny that it's pretty awesome, but the feel is just too Terran for me. This would actually be a good design for the Terran's very own 'Paladin' Armor system that I was working on a while back.
Also of note is the fact that I finished the write-up for those Terran powered Armors I was working on before, and only need to convert them to BHotR tech and materials before plopping them in here.
I really need to get to replying, but i've had so little inspiration lately, and been getting into some dangerous thought patterns again, but I'll see what I can do. Expect a post later today, but if I don't feel free to be general jerks at me till i do.

Not so advanced, Justicars are a bit like Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. Also, the Altresians are carbon based oxygen breathing humanoids, their planet's gravity is only a little bit heavier than Earth's and the climate is colder. Main difference is facial structure, they actually have bones in their nose that connect to their skull to form a kind of natural helmet. Edit: What I am saying is their is not much I can do, it looks Terran because the Altresians, for the most part, look Terran (in body outside body structure at least, insides could turn up being somewhat different) And, armour is armour after awhile making it "cultural" also makes it structurally unsound.

I posted yaaaay.
And Gwath, there would be nothing wrong with Stylizing the armor suit to make it seem more foreign as compared to Terran technology. I had always imagined the Altresians to put a lot of art into their equipment, making them beautifal as well as deadly. The suit is awesome, but it's just too familiar for me to find Very Altresian, unless it was an experimental model of a new design, that hadn't been 'cultured' yet.

Chibi- Teddo I'm touched. But in that case, I demand it be half a dozen Dragoons. You must construct additional pylons... I hope some one out there gets the reference. If not, at least I am laughing. Man, I have been sick for a week now. It sucks! God, I still haven't posted... I will post soon. I really mean it this time!

Hopefully you'll get better soon. Just in case you weren't sure, Frank should be headed towards an engineering section, or near an access to one of the larger weapons. Either way, he would have had a ways to run.

Thanks for that. I kinda had a feeling that was what I was supposed to do. Seeing though that I am the only weapon specialist ever to be, I wanted to make sure.

Snake311 You must construct additional pylons... Warp field stabilized. And Gwath, I have to agree with Kai. The Altresians are meant to have such finely decorated armor that it would look like it belongs in a museum. That's okay for the 'un-cultured' base model, but for field use, it would have a lot of intricate patterning and a few decorative juts that don't interfere much with mobility.

It could be similar to the Roman military, where each soldier had to buy their own armor, they would also customize their armor. While it looked uniform from a distance, each individual soldier would have stylized his own armor to taste. I can totally see the Altresians doing this, being the Greek Roman Space Aryans they are.
