Sir Upper Crust the 3rd You know, they will follow you to the desert eventually. It's not like they're gonna die of dehydration. Besides, your supplies won't last forever and the harsh desert will depleat you of your resources much quicker than you can find them. Your car will be more trouble than its worth in the desert and you'll have to abandone it. All by yourself in that baren land you'll get lost and die of dehydration if the scorpions don't get you in your sleep. A lone desert adventure is suicidal and just a bad idea in general. At least take a convoy with you with vehicles built to traverse the desert sands, though you're supplies will drain even faster from human greed and self preservational instincts. But that's just my opinion. I'm so on your team. As for gun experience, I've gone hunting a dozen or so times. I'm a decent shot, but I'm sure zombies would be a hell of a lot easier targets than birds. Shark bite suit?

If you know what you are doing you CAN survive in the desert, my mom is really big on hiking and all that stuff so I do have a fairly good idea on how to survive out there. Also Zombies would probably NOT reach you in the desert, yes they won't die of dehydration, however the human body cannot move if it looses to much of its fluids. Zombies usually have huge gaping wounds that would cause this to happen much faster. The chances of them coming out to the desert are also slim, since there would be no need for them to go that far where there is little to no human flesh for them to devour. Hell I probably wouldn't even need to go out to the middle, I could just crash at a gas station and sleep in my car at night. Scorpions also won't sting you unless you do something to piss them off, there are ways you can also make sure scorpions don't get you when you are sleeping. Plus if you catch them they also make a very good meal to help you stay alive. Once again if you know where to look or find a small town with a water supply that is far enough from the Zombies you might not even be aware that they existed.

We're talking bout zombie scorpions here, not the regular kind. And hiking isn't the same as desert dwelling, different strategies to stay alive. I'm not saying it's impossible to survive out there, but I guarantee you'd go insane from lack of human contact withing the first few months. You'll due well to remember that there might already be zombies in the area of your gas station and even if there aren't its still not an easy life style. I personaly would rather be in the cities and outskirts where the fun is and go out in a blaze of glory with the multiple grenades I've rigged on my jacket. Again, that's just me.
Aren't shark bite suits basically chainmail?
