pd2care I have a question for you sunburn experts out there.
I was on the river for 5 hours on Sunday (was supposed to be 3 hours and wore plenty enough sunscreen for 3 hours. Applied 2 layers well before we got in the water, to make sure it was resistant to the water) and my leg got a little toasty. I've been using aloe since Sunday night, and it doesn't look like a bad burn at all (no blistering, even the tiny ones). A little while ago, I got a pain shooting through the burn so badly that it made me very dizzy. It was quick, but very intense, and it's never happened to me before, even with 2nd degree sunburn (who'da thunk you needed sunscreen when it was overcast?? I was 12, hadn't a clue). Is that normal??? Or should I be concerned and be doing more than the aloe (with lidocain)? Try vinegar. It will take the heat out of the burn, and usually cut down the pain.

Two eggs that I got from the AP. the neotropical will most likely be transferred, but haven't decided. This egg I bred myself and will decide it's fate should the hatchling survive to determine a gender. Got 'em!

Swelling went down enough today for me to see the tiny cuts and scrapes. Turns out it's not a sunburn after all. I'm thinking allergic reaction to all the organisms in the water. I'm allergic to just about everything on this planet. I started using Aquaphor night before last, and it's already a LOT better. I think I'm going to try Benedryl ointment tonight, before I go to bed.

I'm back again! And adding to my nebula army... as well as supplementing my reds. Sera's healing up fine, although it sounds like she won't be out of the hospital for another week or so. And dad's doing okay too. He's in at another appointment right now. Edit: Spaced out and forgot to put the second set in code.
