Now the candle's burning out, and the pumpkin's rotting away.
I just want you here beside me on this lonesome Halloween day.
I''m laying in our bed with these tainted sheets pulled right over my head.
I'm singing all our favorite songs out loud and I'm hoping you can hear them somehow.
"Sitting here in the dark, drinking my own blood." Juliana blinked, confused. "Huh?" She breathed as she followed Arthur. "You mean the facility's not here? That's cool." But inside she was panicking. Had they found out? Was Arthur just stringing her along? No, no, that wouldn't happen, she assured herself. Arthur had no idea, and it was going to stay that way. She swallowed as she waited for an answer, her heart pounding.  "And a voice, it whispers: Hello my love." Every word you said, it ricochets just like a bullet in my head.

"You'll see" Arthur said as he put his seatbelt on. The van began pulling out and the policeman in the cruiser followed afterward.

Transporter drove across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge heading towards Brooklyn. It was early, and he was ahead of rush-hour traffic. He had to set up shop here, before he could offer out his services. He had a couple contacts out here to supply him with info, ammunition, whatever he needed, but he still needed a home base.
He was planning on meeting with a commercial real-estate agent early this morning, to talk about purchasing a warehouse. Something in the Columbia Street neighborhood would probably be the closest he'd get to the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan, although he was open to something in Red Hook or even Bush Terminal, as long as it was easy access to the Expressway.
After driving all night, he needed a little caffeine boost. He pulled off the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and, following the directions his cellphone GPS gave him, found a Starbucks at 75th and 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge, about five blocks from the Expressway. It was open this early in the morning, and Transporter was able to find parking close by. He grabbed his winter jacket from the back seat, in anticipation of the cold morning that would be greeting him. He pulled a small netbook out of the passenger's side seatback pouch, and slipped it in one oversized pocket. He got out of the car, the cold air stinging his cheeks, and after feeding the meter an hour's worth of change, he walked inside the coffee shop. The great thing about Starbucks is that they were all over the place, and free wireless internet. The bad thing was their coffee was terrible, and the staff wasn't very friendly.
He ordered a large black coffee, and got a strange look from the teeny-bopper working behind the counter. She had too much makeup, too many piercings, and an attitude to match. After getting his coffee, he added a bit of sugar to it to mask the bitter, burnt taste of the coffee, and took a seat next to the window. He idly pulled his netbook off, tinkering with it until it connected to the access point. He scrolled through the news sites, reading about the breaking stories in this part of the world, as the city woke up around him.

The SUV was making its way along the road with the police car following.
If Sami noticed, Arthur still had a bandage on his head.

Trist noticed a man fill a meter with an hours worth of change - or so it had seemed to her - and walk into the Starbucks coffee shop where she herself had decided to retreat from the morning chill. He had ordered a standard black coffee, but had added some sugar to it.
The undercover cop stared down at her own cup, full of hot chocolate and a few mugfuls of sugar and milk. She sipped it and watched the man curiously, although she wasn't really focusing on him until he pulled out a netbook and began searching around, seemingly at random, for something to ease the boredom.
"The hot chocolate's better," she said, noticing he hadn't touched his own mug. He must have known how badly prepared Starbucks coffee was.

The police SUV eventually made its way to the training facility. The drive got out and opened the doors for Arthur and Sami.
"Here we are" Arthur said.
