Mikallen Sir Upper Crust the 3rd Shovels and bats aside, nothing beats a good machete in a zombie apocalypse. Enjoy it getting stuck in their rotting flesh and the zombies killing you hard while you're weaponless. Your statements damages the written English language, porque? And it won't get stuck in the flesh, it'll make nice clean cuts so long as I keep it sharp, I'm an able bodied man with enough strength to handly cleave through flesh that is already ritting off the bone to begin with. Besides, I doubt that a shovel will to much against an enemy that isn't going to be knocked out by a little head knocking. Now a bat sure, it can crush their skulls much more handily than a shovel, your diggin tool would be better used as a cutting blade. But try that with a shovel and it'll get stuck much faster than a machete. Of course, I again base this on my own personal conjectures and I have nothing factual to back it up. For all I know a shovel can bash in a skull better than a bat and has a better chance at making a clean cut over a took made to clear away thick vegitation. I realize that last statement had a hint of sarcasm in it, but that doesn't make it any less sincear. All I know is that my friend read the zombie survival guide and he says that it says machetes are the good stuff in a zombie apocolypse and I like the idea of packing duel machetes and looking badass while being encircles by way more zombies than I can take. Nice black ones with silver handles, maybe some cool red decals on the side of the blades....yeah heart

Shovels are very sturdy, and almost every household has them. That would make finding a replacement very easy. Shovels, at least the ones with the handles, have greater reach than a machete, allowing you to distance yourself from a potential nibble fest. Not to mention, you can use the shovel for other things, like digging trenches to slow zombies down, or as something to grab on to if you need to hoist someone up to a high spot. I'm going for practicality over badassery. And Keegan, you're lucky I don't have one with me, or so help me. mad

Okay, seriously people, no weapons of blunt force in the zombie apocolypse! it makes blood spatter, can get in your eyes! can make you a zombie! Ranged weapons are the way to go, if you need close range go with the machete or the sword.
Blunt force weapons mean you don't get to be on my team!

You guys you are all missing the ultimate weapon, the flame thrower. Oh yeah it sets them on fire for a bit, but Zombies are slow, you could easily out run them. Plus when the fire eats through the muscles they won't be able to chase you any more and will be gone for sure!
