Heaven forbid! If I'm going to take something, it's got to be of reasonably salable value to me, or at least incredibly sparkly. It's easier to hit the rooftops with a few baubles of jewelry than a stack of silk gowns.

You'd be surprised how many neglected kittens exist out there on the streets, poor little things tossed out for stupid or superstious reasons.
Go to an animal shelter sometime and see how many cats are abandonned because the parents are afraid Mittens will eat the new baby.
