"I know. I was about to take off when this guy texts me to come over. I was just about in the mood to kill him." Laura said with a giggle, pointing to the bartender. "But I got to see you so all is forgiven. It just means I'll have to work twice as hard and fast..." She replied, looking slightly away. "I... I'm sorry..."

"well... for being stupid and... and... I just kinda feel like something's wrong, so I'm assuming I did something to make you mad... Maybe I'm just going crazy." She replied with a forced smile. She tried so hard to make it seem like nothing was bothering her that it was almost painful.

Tony could tell that the smile was fake. "I see" he said. Did Laura get the picture? Well it wouldn't have turned out well anyway.
"You did nothing wrong. Don't think you did. I want to speak to Lawliet, because he has a few times...but you haven't" Tony assured Laura.

Tony kissed Laura lightly on the forehead. "Though if you're having a drink, I suggest walking it off for a little bit before heading out" he said with a lighter tone.

The Transporter slowly pulled out of the garage of his Chicago safehouse, and watched the door close shut in the rear-view mirror of his car. He sat there a moment, half on the sidewalk and half in the parking lane, thinking to himself. A faint wisp of steam came out of the tailpipe, before disappearing into the wind. Behind him was the base he had worked out of for close to five years, building his reputation, and building up an impressive automobile collection. Yet, here he sat, ready to head out East to New York City. He had a change of clothes, a fair amount of pocket money, and some incidentals in a bag laying on the passenger's bucket seat next to him. Everything checked out in his car, and barring any complications, he'd be in New York State in five or six hours.
The reason he was heading out to NYC was simple. There was a big underworld upheaval, and there was a need for his specialized services. A demand for his services meant some very nice paydays in his future, provided he completed his missions and didn't end up decorating some cold steel gurney in a New York morgue. He checked his dash gauges, and tapped the throttle. The engine revved up, sending a puff of steam into the air, before it came down to the warm idle setting. The car burbled contentedly, as he gave one last visual inspection of the area. The small, older Mercury station wagon that Transporter drove didn't stand out in this neighborhood, or any other. Few people knew what it was capable of, because if you had to be shown its true power, you generally didn't survive.
Transporter shifted into gear, and drove away from the safehouse. He didn't look back. Within minutes, he was onto the Loop and open Interstate. It was late on a weekday, and law enforcement was mostly on the surface streets, not the super slab. He set the cruise control at 145mph, and blasted towards the Big Apple, a city where dreams can come true... or be shattered forever.

Now the candle's burning out, and the pumpkin's rotting away.
I just want you here beside me on this lonesome Halloween day.
I''m laying in our bed with these tainted sheets pulled right over my head.
I'm singing all our favorite songs out loud and I'm hoping you can hear them somehow.
"Sitting here in the dark, drinking my own blood." ((Can you see it now? The order's a bit messed up...)) Sami blinked curiously. "Okay," she replied slowly. "What kind of quiz?"  "And a voice, it whispers: Hello my love." Every word you said, it ricochets just like a bullet in my head.
I wish that you could see that our love is bringin' out the dead in me.

Tony smiled back. "So you should probably be going soon" he said.
"A quiz on the state laws and how they can be enforced without breaking the law yourself" Arthur replied.

"Uh. ok! I... I'll get back as soon as I can!" Laura stuttered, still blushing. She kissed his hand in a knight-like fashion, and got up to walk out of the door feeling very giddy.

Tony smiled at Laura as she left. He then smiled to himself because he didn't have to dump her...yet. He was hoping he wouldn't at all.
Though, he wasn't sure if Danave was serious with his threat, though Sami did say he said it to every guy she went out with.
Police Chief Arthur began asking Sami or 'Juliana' questions about NYPD law and its practice. Not on a lawyer level, but on a police level of course, though they generally needed to know the same thing.
((I think. I dunno. I'm not a law student))
