Isn't music suppose to be for entertainment? I get the whole "Meaning behind the song" thing.
But I don't want to spend tons of time analyzing songs so that I can decide if I "Like it or not" or if its "A good song". I'd rather like it for the pure fact that I liked it in the first place.

You don't get it? I had to watch it twice to get it, so yeah. Okays, the fish tanks represent their life. The fish represent how many people they've slept with. The girl and guy in the video are married, the flashbacks as evidence. So when the girl picks up the fish on the floor, that means she's cheated on her husband. So when the husband finds out, he empties his tank, which is like committing suicide. So when the girl find out, she also empties her tank. Then the boys come in the ambulance and the tubs filled with water is like life support. Then they take them to the ocean, which is actually Heaven to them. So yeah, get it now? XD
EDIT: Pop really doesn't have a set favorite song. It always changes as I listen to new bands, which is so rare for me. I always find a few bands and listen to them and then no others. Right now I'm forcing myself to listen to new bands so I can get more favorites. -nod nod-

Lol. They can't live without their fish tanks. So when the guy commits suicide, the girl does, too. The bath tubs full of water that the paramedics(the band) carry them in is their life support. So the band brings them and puts them into the ocean, which is Heaven.

Music, yes, is a form of entertainment; But it's so much more than that. Why do you think Musicians are also called artists, or recording artists? It's because music in it's earliest forms was painting a picture with sound and now words. Music, now, is often no longer like that.
I don't need to take tons of time analyzing a song to find what it means. just by listening and i mean really listening, you could listen to the music track by itself and the lyrics by theirself, but then your not getting the full picture. You need both. The crescendo's and decresendos, the speed, the mood of the music. Is the song meant to be sad, happy, angry etc.
In Celine Dion's Let's Talk about love. It talks about how in this world, yes there are many different people in this world. different colors, races, relgions, etc. but we are all the same.
"Everywhere I go all the places that I've been Every smile is a new horizon on a land I've never seen There are people around the world - different faces different names But there's one true emotion that reminds me we're the same... Lets talk about love"
We all share a common bond, we may appear different on the outside, but we all look for the same things in life. The things we do are to protect the ones we love, or protect ourselves, or to succeed.
It's something people fail to realize.
"From the laughter of a child to the tears of a grown man There's a thread that runs right through us all and helps us understand As subtle as a breeze - that fans a flicker to a flame From the very first sweet melody to the very last refrain...
It's the king of all who live and the queen of good hearts It's the ace you may keep up your sleeve - 'til the name is all but lost As deep as any sea - with the rage of any storm But as gentle as a falling leaf on any autumn morn..."
Each interpretation can be different, you may think that this is the stupidest thing you've ever heard. But is it really? You don't have to understand right away. It may take time. Sometimes it takes me more than one listen to understand a song.
But when i find a song that can make me cry or smile, it is then that i know i have found a truly great song, and it will stick with me.
You may over time forget a song, you may grow tired of a song, but the question is why? if you liked that song so much, why are you tired of it? why did you like it in the first place? what did it mean to you? If it meant something important to you, than you should never forget it, and you should never grow tired of it.
