"I do not feel hot." She stated., looking at the ring on her finger. The corridors of this place were long and borring, notihng but what seemed to be miles and miles of red tapistries. The air got noticably harder to breathe, but other than that the two were in little discomfort. Some time later, the hallway they were following branched off into three directions, each one blocked by a shiny mirror.
She pulled said stone out of a pocket. "It doesn't do that anymore. I rather miss it." Deidrick finally decided the drow was alright, and placed one of his heads on Kimmuriel's thigh.
She retorted with her own snort. "There is no honour in destroying an animal. Let the farmers do it, the cattle or whatever it is your eaten was grown for that purpose. She harrumphed. "'Certain' people? Is that a poke?"
"There are a lot of other paths to take, Tarathiel. Perhaps you could simply master all fighting style."

Well he just beamed at that. "You should hire a Lateef." Whatever a Lateef was. It it helped then it was a good things to have around now wasn't it? Then he got another bright idea. "I could help you! Then you'd get done really fast and I'd get to see you too." Even though he knew he wasn't allowed down in daddy's study.
Piper gave a chukle as apparently thier son shared her opinion on Malik's work habits. "We just miss you sometimes, even if you are at home you're still unseen." Actually eating her food, wasn't that an amazing thing?
Kieran turned his attention to Lharika as she plopped down next to him at the table. "Cookies, biscuits, I'm just afraid I'm not savvy on tea party ettiquette at all." Giving a chuckle to that and a look to Malik. "It is rather good Malik," said as he offered his fork to Lharika. "Want to try some?" But a look over to Malik with a chuckle. "Lateef's arent' all they're cracked up to be you know.

"Not at you. more to Orko or Kimmuriel."
A slight smirk.
"And cattle is fine if you like beef. but some of us prefer a more varied buffet. I'll have you know a lizard, a spider, a cow, and a bat all have unique tastes. nto to mention need thier own flavorings. I found that sauce you pour on your steaks doesn't really do well with a spider, for example."
Malik looked at his son.
"Some of the things I do I know your mother would kill me if I let you handle them. Not that you couldn't do it, thier just real unpleasent things."
Like dealing with unruly serfs or the necromancers in thier studies.
"However, if you do real good in your math and writing, I may let you help me with keeping my records and books. mommy needs help with that stuff too all the time."
Then a grin at Kieran.
"I know. but still..can you imagine Lateef trying to run this place?"

He nodded to his father but didn't beam or grin. He could tell that this was very important and he didn't want to spoil the moment for anyone. "As long as you take care of me, I'll be happy. If you can give hugs and tuck me in at night, that's all I really want. Can you do that do you think?"
Zahara felt buoyant for a moment. Things might really be alright. She remained back against Sevilin's chest taking comfort in his presence and the presence of the child before her. "I think so." She set the dragon off to the side and accompanied that with a nod.
Now the child beamed. He crawled forward and wrapped his little arms around both of his parents as best he could, which was kind of hard for him because his arms weren't that long. But he plopped down in his mother's lap and motioned to his hair. "You can start by rebraiding my hair if you want."
Her fingers rose easily and she pulled the little elastic band holding his haphazard braid in place then combed her fingers through it lightly before taking that small section and working on braiding it again. "Do you...do you need us to move?" Mindful that the extra weight of both her and the child might be a bit much for Sevilin's chest to handle."
"That's okay, Uncle Lateef can help you. Or you can come to my next one and I'll teach you everything you need to know." Lharika opened her mouth and ate the food on the fork with a grin. "Yummy. What is it and can I have some? Or I could just share with you Daddy Kieran."

"No, I'm good." And crisis averted...though that was certinally an interesting way that those events had rose. Sevilin had maybe seen Zahara break down only once before to this extent. BUt it was nice to see her break down. Not because he wanted to be mean about it but because that meant that she was indeed not a goddess and actually was someone behind the walls she built around herself. But he did give a cough for no particular reason.
His eyes widened a moment and he looked to his mother. "You'd kill daddy?"
Malik got lightly kicked under the table. "Of course I wouldn't baby. He's exaggerating." Giving Malik one of those oh so sweet smiles of hers that she often used to tease him. Though good job oh his part with reminding teh child that he had to excel in his other studies as well. And then an over dramatic sigh and tone. "I'm afraid I just can't get those numbers."
He seemed to think on it a moment. "I can do that. I'm getting really really good at those." Hey he could write a whole letter now and could do all of his dates and such. Not to mention mathematics was coming quite easily as well.
"I think Lateef would succeed and flourish in the challenge. After all, if he can keep me and my disorganization together, surely he could keep you and your rather striaght ways even striaghter and running quite smoothly." No doubt, Lateef was good at what he did. His attention turned to Lharika. "Oh I'm sure I'll learn soon enough, you know me, have to know everything." Pushing the plate so it was between them and handing her the fork for now...he knew she wasn't going to eat much, she'd been snacking for who knew how long at the little thing of hers. "Apparently, Malik can cook. Isn't that nice?"

So both elves headed towards the dinning hall, though they took their time due to the fact that Isle was still bruised and she shouldn't push herself too hard. "Well it maybe breakfast food but I crave it, especially the bacon as long as it's crispy." Arthur loved his bacon, just as much as he liked almost everything that he east. "Well I know you are, fighting Malik takes a lot of energy out of you, you'll need the food trust me." A small chuckle to that and moments later they were there, opening the door both elves entered and they quickly headed to a table, once they sat down Arthur ordered his meal allowing Isle to get what she wanted.

"You just need to try harder on that, Chev."
then a look at Kieran.
"the name I heard was 'crayfish concubine'. but I think the humans called it an 'alfredo'. So I think crayfish alfredo would be a nicer term."
A grin at his son.
"I'm sure you could, though I think you'll need more practice first."

She nodded and they sat there in silence, she braiding Zykariel's hair and Zykariel just sitting there quietly as well. It didn't take her nearly as long to braid his hair as she drew it out to take though her attention went back to Sevilin for a moment. "Kieran is here. Did you know that?" Of course she remembered the fight that had occurred between him and Kieran way back when. "But he left Fianna at home. I think he just came to get his daughter, Lharika." Of course glancing down at Zykariel she chewed her lip for a moment. Malikhai was likely to be distracted with the arrival of new family. Maybe it would be better for them to head off back home...
"Khai's grandpa is here?" Yes, he knew the name as well as the elf. Kieran had been no stranger the last three years and many times Zykariel had been over and playing when Kieran had come to visit.
How come his friend hadn't told him he was coming? Zykariel came to the conclusion that he must not have known therefore it must be a suprise visit. He would just have to find him while he was here. Khai's grandfather always brought interesting things with him and told them neat stories about a place called Andal.
"And write it all down in your journal." She glanced at his person. "You didn't leave it at home did you? And how come Mama Fianna didn't come too?" She took the fork and ate a few bites, nodding, "Yes it is very good Malik. Almost as good a cook as Zahara is." Before taking just a few more bites and then handing the fork back. Didn't take long to fill her up.

She plopped down at the table, giving a glance around at the others. "Isn't this great? It's just like being back home, except the D'vinns replace all of daddy's incessant chatter and such and Caprice trying to hush him." It was indeed a comical thing, her parents. They had wonderful moments that she could poke at to her heart's contents. But she elbowed Galesen, leaning over to him lightly. "Are you going to say anything about it?" His eye and Andal of course.
"Why try harder when I can convince you do them for me A'mael?" Another one of those smiles of hers just because she could. He loved to tease her about those accounts of hers didn't she? And yes, she needed to do them and had tried...but he's the one who locked her things away from her this time.
"Sometimes humans do, say, or mention rather impressive things. They have thier moments. Then again you have to expect beings with such short life spans to have moments of brilliance for their generations." Humans were a rather interesting study in themselves that even Kieran had dabbled in a bit. Though he still preferred the drow. But his look turned to Lharika. "Of course I brought a journal. And Fianna still has things to do right now." Hey, he missed her too, especially right now. But he took his fork and plate back.
Again, he beamed. "I'll practice. I can do it." After all, he was a D'vinn. And when they said they were going to do something, they meant it. At least that was what daddy had taught him to know. But back to snarfing down food as he always did.
He merely nodded and made a noise of affirmation. No, he still didn't like Kieran too much, but he didn't try to go after him any longer either. In fact, he had gotten used to Kieran and Fianna's random drop ins over the years. "Probably, that and to snoop a bit as he usually does into everyone's business. A look down to his son...he knew he liked Kieran. "You can see him if you want."

"Because you may not always be able to convince me? Or perhaps I'll be busy...or maybe Kieran might be here and I'll be socializing while your still working?"
A chuckle at her, and a look at Isle when she nudge Arthur in the ribs about saying something.
"Anything about what?"

Arthur smiled lightly at Isle as watched her, at least she was all happy now. Though he paused for a moment when a slave brought his drink, grabbing the cup he took a sip before he leaned forward in his chair a little bit as his smile grew. "Well that's good to hear, at least you're in a sort of comfortable environment." He said as he took another sip of his drink before setting the cup down on the table as he looked at her with a calm face. "I will say something when I have a good chance of speaking to him without others interfering about it..." Though it was too late because Malik decided to speak up. Sighing the elf leaned back into his chair and smiled a little. "I was going to ask Kieran if he could take me up to the surface since I heard from Isle that I can go and get my eye replaced with a crystal one."

"Fine, be that way." Sticking her tongue out at him in childish gesture before returning her attention to her plate, pushing what was left on it around some.
Yes, Isle had done it on purpose, knowing full well that eventually, Malik was going to know, so why even bring it up with Kieran and have him say yes when Malik was going to say no when he found her out later. This saved the inbetween step.
Kieran looked over to Arthur and blinked a moment before getting that look of going through his mind on what had been said. Oh yes, he knew what she was talking about now, took him a moment to click. "It's possible to do."

Zykariel chose that moment to begin talking to both of them about the many things Kieran had shown them and all about the draithix and whatever other topic he could possibly come up with.
Zahara let his mindless chatter flow around her as she contemplated everything she'd learned that day especially. Sevilin had killed his two brothers and he still felt guilty over it. She finally knew what had been bothering him all of these years. It had taken her three years to cajole it out of him but she had done it. She thought no differently about him except her shock at finding out that he loved his brothers. Both of them. She tried to remember if she had ever loved her sister but couldn't come up with a time. No love between her family at all. Zykariel had gotten a good deal with Sevilin as his father, at least the kid had someone to love and take care of him. "Mmm..." she said in response to whatever Zykariel had just asked.
"Malikhai's got a bunch of draithix outside now and I know we've got Nym but he's kinda yours and Mommy has her horses but I don't really have anything," he'd been saying. "Do you think I could have a pet of my very own?"
Lharika sat there quietly, listening to the adults talk. It was amazing what you could learn just by listening. She'd caught quite a few things that way. It was disappointing to know that Fianna hadn't come. She missed her most of the time and had never fully understood why they weren't married.

It was odd, yet not sitting there with the both of them, just listening to Zykariel go on and on about things that entertained children, giving the appropriate response from time to time when asked. His own thoughts merely had no particular direction, which is what usually happened when he didn't care to think at the moment. Wait, that was an important question, pay attention. "You want a pet?"
Well damn it the child already blew the Nym excuse out of the water too. Okay let's stall a little with questions. "What...kind of pet do you think you would want?"

"I have no idea what to do here..." He shrugged, and approached the central mirrior, investigating it for any abnormalities. THe fist thing he noticed is that the heat wvaes danced about Leaf with a perticularly alarming alure, as though beauty was irradiating from her in the form of spacial waves. He cleared his throat and tried to place all his attention on the ..., I mean mirror.
"Ahh, its because you always know where I am, and what I am up to." He chuckled and relaxed a hand on the strange dog. "Could be worse... I could have arranged for you to live with the Dwarves. Father always was a wierd one." The drow laughed lightly.
Tarathiel watched the slight bicker with some interest. The cheap shot on people not present was not missed. "Silly Aella. I can't master all styles." He leaned against Aella like he normally did, and stared off into space. "My father was a Wizard, my mother was an Archer, but neither of these careers appeal to me." Onyx's snide remark actually clicked in at this point, for Orko anyway. "Oh! I get it. Onyx-sans doesn't like how nothing is left after Orko-sans kills something. Which is why Orko-sans doesn't get to cook dinner. He'll disintegrate the food into nothingness!" Tarathiel giggled at his observation, a little airheaded today boy.
