Never Again...Herald paused as he looked down at Mirai. "My flames are....violent..." he told her. "They are part of what damaged the ring in the first place. They could end up only damaging it more." Will I be bound in chains

Mirai shrugged "Worth a shot. The worst that can happen is it melts a bit more and I fix it a bit more. Besides, I won't let it get bad." she told him "Just create a small flame in your hand." she said "Just try. Emma will love it if you did this."

Never Again...Herald nodded slowly as he focused. "Molding it with my flames will probably mean it will be infused with my wavelength forever. Would she...like that?" He asked. With enough effort it would burn away The Reaver's residual wavelength on the ring as well. He opened his hand and a small blue flame sprang to life. Herald furrowed his brow as he caused the flame to grow brighter and higher as it became more powerful. In several moments it had covered his entire hand and was hot enough to make the gold malleable again. Will I be bound in chains

I climbed I slipped I fell but at least I tried

Mirai smiled slightly and nodded before watching Herald create a flame in his hand. Once it was big enough, Mirai's eyes glowed slightly and the ring floated from her hand right above the flames. After a few moments, the ring began to liquify. The gems on the ring suddenly separated and floated not to far away from the ring that was in the air. The deformed ring suddenly began to reshape, becoming a lot smoother and eventually looking the way a ring should. The diamonds that surrounded some of the ring landed back in the metal where they were supposed to go while Mirai took the main diamond in her hand. She squeezed it for a few moments before opening her palm to reveal the diamond again but, this time, with no cracks in it. The diamond floated up as the metal began to mold on top of the ring so it could hold the diamond before the gem slipped in place. Mirai kept it in mid air for a few more moments, making sure it wasn't too small and there wasn't any mistakes before the ring floated away from the flames. "Done... it just needs to cool now." she said as the metal became solid again.

Never Again...Herald gave a small smile as he saw the ring take shape and mold back to what it should be, followed by the diamond being fixed and reset. "....Thank you," he said quietly. He took a deep breath and nodded to a nearby table for Mirai to set it down until it cooled. He turned around and walked back to the map. "Texas...you cared about him didn't you?" He asked out of the blue as he looked down at the map. Will I be bound in chains

Mirai nodded in reply as the ring floated over to the table and was set down. She heard Herald mention Texas then and glanced at the ground. She was silent for a few moments "I did..." she replied quietly.

Never Again...Herald continued looking over the map, his back to Mirai. "And the Texas that you knew. Do you think he was real?" He asked as he began looking for ports with similar towers to the one in Texas's memories. Will I be bound in chains

Mirai continued looking at the ground "He was real to me..." she said. She disliked recalling that that Texas was most likely a fake and the real one was the one that had insulted her throughout the whole fight. Something fake couldn't create emotions like the ones she saw in the Texas she knew could it? "He's gone now though."

Mirai paused for a moment as that issue also set in. The real Texas was evil. He and the group he was in wanted to kill her and everyone she knew. "For me... nothing." she replied. Texas was the only person she could really count on everyone else she knew most likely had some sort of issue with her such as her brothers and Herald. Now that he was gone she felt pretty alone and didn't want to deeply trust anyone else anymore.

Mirai glanced up at Herald for a moment then back down "He was my first friend. He was also my partner and supported me no matter what, even if I made the wrong decision. I was able to trust him with a lot of things and vice versa." she explained, summing everything up. "He also made me feel happy."

Never Again...Herald sighed and stopped looking over the map. He turned around and walked up to Mirai, looking down at her as if he were considering something. Then he knelt down to her level and lifted her up slightly, setting her on his knee like he had done with Emma when she was a small child. Although Mirai was no child, the size difference between the two of them still made it easy for Herald to do. Even though Mirai was older Herald still saw her as a little kid. "Listen to me. Because I'm only going to tell you this once. And if you ever tell anyone else I'll kill you. My earliest memories are from the orphanage where I was raised in a city that was mostly very poor. The only thing I had were my two friends that I'd known as far as I can remember. When I was taken away to the arenas, I lost them. I thought I lost everything. I did lose everything. For many years. And eventually I even forgot about them. But they never forgot about me. I never thought in a million years they'd be able to overcome the arenas and free me, but they did. They did the impossible and they came back. It can be done. It's not over." He was silent for a moment before he stood up again, obviously feeling a bit awkward about telling Mirai something so personal. But everything she had told him reminded him so much of where he had been when he was first brought to the arenas. Eric didn't remember that far back, but Herald did. He turned back to the map and began looking over it again as if nothing had happened. "Anyway...that's the truth," he told her as he began looking at another port. Will I be bound in chains
