Tim's not getting it only made it funnier. "I'll lay with you until you get up." he quoted, meeting Tim's eyes, "until what part of me gets 'up' Tim? really, it sounded like some only time pickup line." he just shook his head and slide out of bed, "before things get awkward, time for me to get out of bed. don't you think?"

Daren put his hands in the air, "ok, ok, i'm sorry! forgive me?" he followed Tim out, still unable to keep the grin off his face, "how about i take you to dinner to apologize? huh? we could go somewhere fancy before the show. somewhere we have to wear those suits, would that make you forgive me?" though he knew Tim wasn't angry, he also knew that Tim would probably be itching to put his damned suit on, so Daren was giving him an excuse.

Daren thought a little bit, "Ever been to La Quartet? I hear it's pretty good and it's a nicer place, nicer than i've been too. they are good to the force, though, a friend of Iroh's runs it. we've met a couple times, he's a drinking buddy if you will. i could get us a table there on short notice like this. how's that?"

Daren chuckled, "don't i always say don't worry about it? i've shares in the resturant, so our business will be helping me in the long run." he stepped back, "right, i'll go make the call. are you hungry right now or do you want to wait a little bit?" he didn't know if a silk suit would be right for the restaurant, but he didn't care. he was still going to wear it.

Daren sighed, always about the money. "yes, a policeman gets paid s**t, but i've gotten awards and crap that i was able to sell off and use to build up quite the portfolio. you're an accountant, you should understand that. i've just got good business sense when it comes to stocks. right now? i'm probably worth a couple million, give or take. so stop worrying about money, ok?" he was blushing a little, he didn't like talking about how much money he had, but it seemed important to Tim. he went to his room and felt all of the suits, pulling out the softest one and nodding. "hello, beautiful." he put it on slowly, enjoying the slide of the cloth along his skin, goosebumps rising up. he shivered a little and checked to make sure everything was buttoned right before stepping out. "this one ok?"

Daren shook his head a little, "Tag away. though they guys at the office won't believe it." he winked a little and moved to sit down. he waited until Tim had gone into his room before he rubbed his eyes tiredly, it was going to be a long night, but tonight was about Tim so he'd endure. "don't go spreading that around, you hear? the guys hear about my stocks and i'm going to be stuck buying beers for the rest of my career."

Daren stood up, his smile dark, "my father was a buisnessman. He was pretty good at stocks too, good enough to pay off any police officer that came looking into why his wife and child were constantly covered in bruises. So no, i don't want to be a buisness man, I didn't even want to get into stocks, but I knew that the only way to help people was the same way you could get away with hurting them. Money and the law. I have both on my side, Tim, don't you think that's much better than just being a buisnessman?"

Daren sighed and turned away, shaking his head, his hand covering his eyes, "Tim, i'm sorry. that was out of place." he took a moment to compose himself, but his eyes fell on the picture of his mother and he felt his heart shrivel a bit. "We can do the picture now, use your phone. have you setup your facebook account on it yet? then you can upload it right away." he pulled out his own phone and sent a text, acting for a table from Lance. the reply was quick, it was their slow time, he'd have a table waiting. "you can drive if you want, i really don't mind"
