Now Koffing may not have been the sharpest bulb in the crayon box, but when she looked across the grassy area to see the strange bug thing and the strange... viney thing, she wasn't really sure which one was her opponent. The Tangela? The Yanma? Maybe even both? Thinking was currently a full action for the poison type so she just hovered there, whining loudly. Paras, on the other hand, had a much better idea and just skittered back, eyes bugging out of his little face to the point where they might just pop right out. "...Guys?" Jasper scratched his head.

"Um, Jasper?" Allan's voice was fairly quiet and Jasper nearly missed it.

"Yeah."

"It helps if you, you know, give them a specific target to aim for. At least in the beginning. Some Pokemon are really good at these kind of battles though. Allow me to demonstrate. Yanma, Quick Attack, on Koffing! Tangela, Ingrain." In a blinding show of speed, the insect rocketed forward, almost too fast for anyone's eyes to track at least until it smashed into Koffing, sending the poison type flying back. The grass type Tangela, meanwhile, used its much less in-your-face technique to send a bunch of glowing, green roots into the ground beneath it, firmly anchoring it to the ground. The Vine Pokemon sighed contentedly, already able to feel the life-giving earth mingling with its roots.

"Well then," Jasper muttered, holding his arm up to stop Koffing from drifting into him. The defensive block was becoming second nature to him now. "Koffing, use Poison Gas on the Tangela, then. I don't think it's going anywhere now. And Paras... just... stay on the defensive, buddy. I trust you can defend yourself when the time comes. Paras nodded vigorously, both claws raised in preparation to slash at that speedy bug demon if it dared come near him again. Koffing, her momentum having shifted thanks to her delightfully helpful trainer, honed in on Tangela like a gassy rocket and lived up to her classification by unleashing a cloud of toxic gas right into the now-immobile Tangela's face.

Kaylee's attack had caught both Jerry and his Sandshrew off-guard, and while the Pikachu wasn't exactly bursting with strength, her blitz strike had knocked the ground type off balance and even spun him around a little, and he swiped his claws at the mouse as more of a reaction than anything else, but of course he missed the electric mouse by the proverbial mile.

"You did so introduce yourself," Jerry hollered back, the rocky battlefield making his voice echo a bit. "You yelled your name at me when you first got in here! Hayley!" he added, shouting her name as an afterthought a moment or so later. "Sandshrew, use Poison Sting!" The ground type mouse jumped into action, curling into a ball and spinning in the air to cause a spray of violet needles to rain down toward Kaylee.

"Well how do you like that, I most certainly did," the brunette mused as her Pikachu gave a fearful squeal and danced around on the ground to avoid the Sandshrew's attack. "Oh, um, okay now... Kaylee, give 'em a Growl!" The Pikachu dropped down to all fours, teeth grit as she stared down the other Mouse Pokemon. She took a deep breath before opening her mouth, sending out a sharp growling noise that seemed to distort the air around both her and Sandshrew. Sandshrew shook its head and flailed its claws a little, feeling a little less inclined to attack the Pikachu.
.
"Sand-attack!" Jerry shouted almost immediately after, and it was Sandshrew's turn to mess with his opponent as he rushed forward, dragging his left claw along the ground before he brought it up in a diagonal slash, shooting up a line of gritty dirt and sand right into Kaylee's face.

Almost as a second thought Kasiya remembered to get her Pokemon a quick round of healing, quietly apologizing again to Alphonse's Pokeball as she clipped it back onto her belt. She really would make it up to her sweet little penguin somehow; perhaps taking him somewhere that he could go for a nice, long swim. While Mike was definitely enjoying the way her wet clothes clung to her, Kasiya most certainly did not, absolutely hating the uncomfortable, damp, sluggish and heavy feeling. Accepting both the shirt and the kiss with a little smile, something about his tone of voice made her feel like she should be blushing slightly and she giggled as she hesitantly turned away.

"C'mon, Shocker," she said, motioning for the Raichu to follow her as she made her way down the hallway. Luckily for her, Pewter City's Center layout was similar to many of the others scattered across the Kanto region so she had little trouble finding her way. The Raichu kept her company as she slipped into the bathroom and stripped out of her soaked clothes. Letting her hair down when it was so damp was difficult but not impossible, and she giggled and felt a little grateful that she'd chopped the majority of it off long ago, otherwise her situation would be a little Tangled right now. Having picked up a fresh, clean towel she wrapped it around herself before bringing the soaking pile of garments to the small laundry area, opting for the quickest wash cycle as possible as she wouldn't be long showering. With her clothes going, she headed back and quickly found an empty shower stall. After setting the water to a comfortable temperature she stood under it, sighing contentedly.

Shocker waited uncomfortably at the perimeter of the cascading water, mostly due to a highly warranted fear of accidentally electrocuting her trainer. This wouldn't last long, however, as no sooner had the blonde finished washing and rinsing her own hair did she kneel down and tug the antsy mouse to her side. "You too, silly," the girl said as she poured shampoo over the Raichu's head and down her back. "You'll feel wonderful after this, trust me." Unconvinced, the mouse just stood there sullenly, absolutely refusing to allow herself to enjoy this. Even if her trainer's fingers massaging her tired and achy muscles was incredibly soothing. And if it felt really nice to get her fur all cleaned up after her time in captivity. And the water really was the perfect temperature. Ah, dang. Despite her initial reluctance, Shocker soon gave in to her mini spa treatment, closing her eyes. She'd almost forgotten how nice and normal it was to be loved and care for. Well, as relatively normal as one could get when it came to Kasiya, anyway.

After toweling off and finding some clean underwear, she took Mike's plaid shirt from the top of her bag and buried her face in it. It was almost odd that it still smelled like him - the old him, at that - yet there was an unmistakable smoky, almost tangy scent to it as well, and she stood there, smiling like a giant dork with the garment pressed up against her face until Shocker made an impatient 'chu' sound. Her cheeks flushing slightly, she unfurled the shirt and slipped it on, buttoning up enough to keep her looking fairly modest. It was a bit big on her and hung down past her hips but it didn't bother her as she went to check her clothes in the washing machine. The timer had just gone off and she tossed them into the dryer. "I guess that does it," she murmured, starting down the hall a bit tiredly.

"Rai-chuu!" the mouse called, causing Kasiya to stop in her tracks.

"What?" the blonde replied with a slightly irritated sigh. The Raichu pointedly gestured toward her trainer's head, which at first was more confusing than helpful. "My head? I don't get it," she said, reaching up to run her fingers through her hair. Feeling the water practically dripping from the strands, she felt a chill course down her spine and she sighed again. "Wet hair, you're right. Might as well just go in there and turn the hose on him, right?" she said with a laugh, but the mouse wasn't amused. The pair trudged back down the hall where Kasiya fished out her brush and awkwardly planted herself beneath one of the blow-dryers, carefully combing out the wet strands while comically having to reach up and slam the button to make the machine rumble to life again. With her golden locks now smooth, silky and safe, she placed the Raichu beneath the dryer as her fur was still quite damp, and it wasn't long before the squeaky clean mouse gave into the warmth and exhaustion of her own body and fell asleep. Smiling, the girl returned the Raichu to her Pokeball. She'd certainly missed times like these.

By the time she was all clean and dry, so were her clothes and she stuffed them haphazardly into her bag (Sasha'd have a fit over the pending wrinkles) before yet again wandering down the hall to figure out where Mike had gone. Being the somewhat oblivious girl she was, she even walked past the familiar green t-shirt tied around the doorknob twice before spotting it. Now knowing where to go, she removed the garment and quietly stepped into the room, closing the door and locking it behind her, figuring they both could use the added sense of security. She set her bag down on a chair as she tiptoed into the room, unable to keep herself from staring at the faint glow of Mike's skin. Was he sleeping? She hadn't even noticed that he'd pushed the two twin beds together. In her distraction, however, she stopped paying attention to where she was going and tripped over something laying in the middle of the floor and unceremoniously flopped to the floor with a dull thud. "Oof," she muttered, pulling herself to her feet quickly before scrambling onto the unoccupied side of the beds. "Nailed it," she muttered, laying back against the soft pillow and sighing.

"Ominous Wind!" shouted the Biker Chick, glancing over at her own partner who didn't seem to be doing all that well against Jade's "cute little ducky". Spiritomb let out an eerie howl and that same, haunting wind began to blow, chilling both Jaeshan and Grotle down to the bone. The generally passive Grove Type didn't seem to be very passive and gentle at the moment, and he let out a growl and stomped his foot down hard, refusing to allow the ghastly wind to blow him away.

"That's the way, Grotle! We've almost got 'em! Use Mega Drain!" Jaeshan shouted, still trying to shake the sand from his hair. It was so naturally messy all on its own and it really didn't need the help. Grotle gave a cry, his back shrubs glowing brightly as they seemed to effectively reach out and pull the energy from Spiritomb, causing it to wail out in pain. Grotle, meanwhile, looked a bit refreshed from the health gain and he pawed the ground, eager to finish off this annoying (and somewhat scary, let's be real) Pokemon.

"Shadow Sneak!" the biker chick shouted, almost as though she knew this wasn't going to end in her favor. Spiritomb still seemed to be in good enough spirits, making an eerie, laughter-like sound as its shadow stretched out below it and went after Grotle. Grotle's first reaction was to try and avoid it, but he wasn't exactly a swift Pokemon and the attack hit him anyway. He heard his trainer call out for a second Mega Drain and the Grove Pokemon couldn't agree more. His shrubs began to glow again and he reared back on his hind legs, the glow intensifying as it reached out and once again started to sap away Spiritomb's life energy. Maybe it was Grotle's determination or maybe it was a critical hit, but either way, the Grass-type was looking healthier than ever while Spiritomb wailed loudly before slumping to the ground, looking too weak to continue. "Oh, dammit! Whatever, man!" the biker growled, glaring at Jaeshan as she recalled her Pokemon.

"Wh-whatever indeed," Jaeshan shot back awkwardly a second or so later, causing the biker to scoff as she turned her back on him and walked away. Some of the gang was dispersing now as well, with the exception of those that were still cheering on their leader. Jae found it hard not to watch the blue-haired girl now that he was no longer focused on the battle, but a sort of guilt tugged at him as he did and he quickly looked back to Jade and Aquarius, eager to see the dark-haired girl finish her battle on a winning note as well.

Surge was both relieved and a little saddened to see the Hitmontop finally fall - it had been one tough customer. Raichu's tail lashed against the ground and he grinned smugly as the Fighting-type was recalled, sparks continuing to flash from his yellow cheeks. Both he and his master waited eagerly for Amy to send out her final Pokemon. The little blue Pokemon was admittedly a little less impressive than the Hitmontop had been, but Surge had seen a few of these guys before and he knew they were very much immune to electric attacks, like all Ground-types.

The Mud Bomb it had launched was bad news for Raichu, but the gym leader and his Pokemon didn't appear to look all that worried. "Raichu! I trust ya know what to do, eh?" The mouse nodded in affirmation and stepped forward, drawing his arm back. His paw began to glow as he eyed the ball of hard-packed mud, and with good timing and all his might, he swung forward, smashing the Mud Bomb to smithereens with a mighty Mega Punch.

Falkner was a little surprised to see the little Pidgey from before, looking raring to go despite the previous battles it had already been through. Wondering if that fact would come into play later on in this first match-up, the blue-haired Gym Leader watched as the Tiny Bird Pokemon kicked up a Gust on Ben's command. Hooothoot showed no signs of the attack bothering him, as he was both resilient and quite cool-headed, just like his master. "Now it's our turn," Falkner said loftily, slashing his hand forward. "Hypnosis!" Hooting shrilly, the Owl Pokemon hopped forward, his large, round red eyes emitting a curiously inviting wave of hypnotic energy.

Not one to underestimate her frightening gym leader opponent, Amy hadn't expected the Mud Bomb to hit dead on -- it just seemed like a good introductory move. However, she had expected Raichu to dodge, as she had seen how fast Pikachu could be and thought it only natural that the trait would remain through evolution, rather than punch it. Both the bespectacled girl and her Wooper watched in open-mouthed shock as the Raichu executed its Mega Punch, but she knew that she had to take advantage of its distraction while she could. She did not want that punch hitting Marshall dead-on right away.

"All right, use Dig!" Amy called, and the Water Fish Pokemon snapped to attention, glancing down at the floor of the gym. With impressive strength from such a little body, he began to kick his feet back and forth, kicking up enough of the floor to allow him to dive headfirst into the ground, his digging methods still a mystery to his trainer and all trainers everywhere. Seriously, did he eat the dirt, or what? After that noisy, awkward practice, the battlefield was relatively silent as the Wooper hunted underground. Amy watched with narrowed eyes, thinking deliriously that at times she heard a faint woop, woop, woop (in the style of dun, dun, dun) coming from beneath her. She did not think it was real -- or at least, she hoped it wasn't. (For posterity's sake, it was not real -- just a hallucination borne of a battle-stressed mind.) This battle was really starting to get to her.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Jake's battle was a lot noisier than her own -- partially due to the fact that Jade was dealing with a Jaws-esque situation of her own, watching Aquarius carefully as he remained still, prey about to fall to the predator. Right on cue, the ground opened up beneath the Psyduck, spraying concrete everywhere (seriously, did anyone have to pay for the damage caused by these battles?) as Hippopotas snapped upwards, aiming to capture Aquarius in his gaping maw, just as he'd done with that stupid little Shinx. The Duck Pokemon, however, wasn't having it, instead glancing down at the Ground-type and letting out a groan, as if to say that this battle was nothing more than a headache. He used Confusion, blasting directly downwards into the hippo's mouth and, subsequently, hitting himself with the psychic burst's recoil from being shot in a blank-point range. This afforded him more space, as was preferable, and his little legs kicked wildly as he spun in midair, landing ungracefully on his bottom.

"Good job, Aquarius!" Jade called, but her Psyduck refused to stand back up. He just sat there, holding his head, looking pitiful. She had never known her Psyduck to be lazy (although he did often find himself questioning orders, as when he was stuck sliding around in the mud with the world's angriest Bibarel), so this was a curious choice. "Aquarius...?" Apparently, both Pokemon were being willful, as Hippopotas was already charging without a direct order, apparently readying another bite. And the Water-type's eyes snapped open, another blue orb forming right before his eyes. Ah, the dark-haired girl thought, grinning. The Water Pulse scored a direct hit; the Hippo Pokemon seemed to be of a simple mind and was only capable of charging head-on. Only slightly subdued, the Ground-type began to circle the duck warily, looking to its trainer for a command this time. He ordered a Take Down, and the quadruped began to charge Aquarius from behind.

"Water Gun, Aquarius," Jade said coolly, already knowing that this would be the last blow. And it was: Aquarius simply stood back up and turned around, eyes widening as the hippo got a little too close for comfort. Distressed, he quacked and let loose a heavy stream of water, spraying the hippo and diverting him once again from his path. It skidded to a halt, legs falling out from under it and it remained like that, groaning on its side before closing its eyes, deciding that the battle was over. "Well," the girl sighed loudly, "I'd take your bikes, but I don't have any room in my bag for trash. Now stop making a spectacle of yourself and get out of everyone's way." To the rallying cries of their gathered crowd, Clay and what remained of his gang grumbled and slunk away to lick their wounds. Once they were out of sight, the girl sighed with genuine relief, grinning at her Psyduck (who accepted her praise with a happy quack and was glad to return to his Pokeball, where things were much less violent) and then at Jake. "How about that? Nice job, cowboy -- you got a whole lot stronger since I've last seen you."

"Growlithe: the Puppy Pokemon." the machine rattled on as Mike continued his research, thumbing through the canine's known moves and abilities as it talked. He knew most of them by heart at this point, but being well-versed in any subject didn't happen overnight.

Looks like Hiro. Or, Growly then. a ghost remarked offhandedly before Mike gently closed the device.

"You're right." He replied lightly, leaning over the side of the bed and tucking it gently into his bag, smiling once again at its Felsic-like design. Mike pressed himself against his pillow and let out a soft breath. It was so soft. He wasn't used to such relaxed luxury as a warm bed that didn't have straps or machines.

Much nicer, if not a bit jarring. Not the worst thing to get used to. Mike let out a soft 'hm' in agreement, closing his eyes and focusing on the sound of the rain outside: the light splashes as they joined with the others in the now forming puddles, the different smacks as they landed on rock, metal and wood, the sound it made as it fell, all of it. There was a pattern. It was subtle and hard to pin down through the noise, but it was there. He listened, counted the drops in his head, the space between them. The spiritual chatter around him became, for lack of a better word, drowned out; one repetitious noise replacing another. The shift was nice, as was the distraction until something much more enjoyable literally stumbled through the door.

Kasiya had finished with her shower, and was trying her adorable best not to make too much noise. No doubt she thought he was sleeping, which made him smile. It made sense, the only times when he was still and silent were when he was either sleeping, dead or passed out. He rolled his eyes at the amusing inverse. It was usually the former that was more common for people, not the latter two.

As she crept along in her own stealthy way, Mike couldn't help but stare. The soft light of the moon highlighted her pale skin as it streaked between the raindrops, giving her a milky glow not too dissimilar from his own now natural luminescence. It highlighted her fit, slender legs, wrapping all the way up to her backside, which was barely covered by the shirt he gave her. Each step creased and folded the fabric around its shape, and he had a hard time looking away; not that he was putting much effort into doing so.

True to form, her heart and her feet refused to cooperate, and despite her consistently best intentions, Kasiya somehow found the only obtrusive object on the ground and hit the floor. Any subtle, unintentional teasing was thrown out the window as the shirt flared up during the fall, exposing all the way up to the small of her back. Mike sucked in his lips to avoid laughing at her while she was down twice in an hour, despite how much the situation may have called for it. He shook his head, a smile showing nothing less than complete adoration at his girlfriend's lack of finesse.

"Completely." Mike said through his curved lips, his voice rumbling with a soft hum as he took in the sight before him. This was the first time he had seen her in such comfortable attire, and while she might not have been trying to look enticing, she certainly did all the same. Surely, another thing he had no problem growing familiar with. "I have to admit," he all but whispered, lightly tracing his hand up and down her thigh. "Looks much better on you than it does on me." His gaze followed where his fingers wished to, moving up her stomach and to her chest. Very comfortable attire. After enjoying a moment's glance, his eyes met hers. There she was, the perfect girl in his bed. She was radiant in the moonlight. Beautiful. He craved her.

Like the spirits before, the rain was now completely shut out. All of his focus was on her, his mind abuzz while he wondered what to do next.

Riza continued her training, both contest appeals and regular battle commands, well until after dark, stopping only when she and all her Pokemon were too exhausted to continue. She brought her crew inside and after a solid round of healing for everyone they all enjoyed a late but delicious supper. It was going on midnight by the time Riza had put everyone back into their poke balls and she was lucky to be able to get a room so late. Not even bothering to find her nightgown she stripped down to her panties and climbed into bed, annoyed to find that the hollow feeling seemed to grow stronger now that she was alone. After half an hour of tossing and turning she released Eris from her poke ball as the Quilava was the best Pokemon she had for cuddling. With the fire-type snuggled down with her under the covers she felt a lot safer and warmer and this time she fell asleep within a matter of minutes.

Riza's dreams were vivid and troubled, filled with loud noises like police sirens and flashing lights from the squad cars. She watched the scene where they took Shiro away from her repeat itself over and over and each time she could do nothing to stop it. A few times the police officers and men in white coats were even after her, sending police Pokemon after her and holding her down as they jabbed needles full of sedatives into her arms.

Despite her troubled sleep Riza awoke relatively early the next morning, smiling when she saw that Eris was still curled up in a ball next to her, still snoozing away. She ran her hands over the Quilava's soft fur before deciding it was time to get up and get on with the day. She showered again and dressed in her new attire before gathering her things and getting breakfast for all of her Pokemon. As she stepped outside the pokecenter and took in the already busy streets of Celadon City, she tried to figure out what was on her agenda for today. It was only about ten in the morning, meaning she had a lot of time to fill. She started walking toward the contest hall before she saw a sign for the Celadon Gym. Crenu had battled there yesterday and she narrowed her eyes. Perhaps her third badge would come from a different gym altogether.

The scenery of route 215 seemed to pass them by rather quickly as Katie spent most of this leg of the trip chasing after Genki who was proving to be faster and more agile than ever. Not used to such physical exertion Katie had difficulty keeping up with him most of the time, having to pause and catch her breath quite frequently. 'It's a good thing I'm not running for my life or I would have been eaten by now,' she thought sulkily as she sat on a soft patch of grass, sipping from her water bottle. The Monferno on the other hand was looking fairly impatient, though he understood that his trainer wasn't as physically fit as she should be. It would be in that moment, however, that something would swoop down across the trail in front of them before coming to land on the ground nearby, pecking at the ground and apparently indifferent to the human and her monkey companion.

Genki's head snapped up when he heard the ruffle of wings and he gave a little growl which got Katie's attention. "Genki?" she asked, closing the lid on her water bottle. "Oh, I see," she sighed upon seeing the Staravia that had landed nearby. "You know, not all of them are out to get you," she said in a low voice. No sooner had the words passed her lips when the Staravia jerked its own head up, locking eyes with Genki. Not a second more passed before it was speeding through the air and slamming into the Monferno's chest with a Quick Attack, sending them both rolling along the ground.

"Okay so apparently they do," Katie sighed, standing up as her Pokemon scuffled with the vendetta-for-no-reason Staravia. This one was male, she could tell by its prominent forehead. Genki, used to the antics of Staravia by now, quickly got back to his feet and unleashed a flurry of scratches right into the bird's face and chest area, a Fury Swipes that truly lived up to its name.

Once the Noctowl was released, Bugsy knew the battle was entirely done. Ledian was scrappy, sure, but moxie only took one so far. The gym leader chuckled lightly at the command for the Aerial Ace. He always felt it was a bit lame that the reward for beating the first Gym was an unavoidable move that completely shut down near all of his Pokemon. Oh well, thems the breaks, as they say. Jett's Noctowl streaked across the sky, slashing the airborne Ledian with its sharp claws. He cried out in pain. He woke up for this?! Next time he was just going to stay asleep and let someone else deal with it. A Noctowl. Really. Ugh.

"Give it a Mach Punch!" Bugsy ordered. The battle was over, but he would feel bad if he didn't at least give his Pokemon a chance to strike back. Already panting, the Five Star Pokemon wound up and rocketed forward, aiming square for the owl's gut. A little payback was in order!
PostPosted: Sun Jun 16, 2013 7:29 pm

The look on Bugsy's face told him everything he needed to know -- Jett already knew that he was extremely likely to win, but a sense of relief still flooded his heart. But before he allowed himself to get too calm and secure, he had to actually win this battle. Judging from the damage that Aerial Ace did to the poor Ledian and Athena's resolute stare promising only more to come, that would not take too long.

"Athena, stay close," he called, folding his arms over his chest. "And use Pluck." The Owl Pokemon flew forward, trying to get closer, but she was rudely intercepted by the fast-struck blow from that oversized ladybug. Athena rolled away a little, the Mach Punch stinging, but she was undeterred. Her beak glowed white and now she swooped in for real, trying to peck the Five Star Pokemon. Both she and her trainer doubted that Ledian was holding any berries that would be deferred over to the owl, should she succeed, but an attack was an attack. Even if it didn't yield a delicious, replenishing Oran Berry.

The look on Ledian's face when he realized that not only was the Noctowl trying to hurt him, but also steal his stuff, was nothing short of offended. Unfortunately for the bug, he didn't have much time to scoff indignantly at the bird, because following the frisk, it jabbed him with its pointy beak. Right in the slash marks. The impact, doubled with the still stinging cuts from before, were enough to shut the little bug down. His wings fluttered a few times as he tried to remain in the air, but after a weak attempt, his elytra snapped shut, and the Ledian fell to the ground. It was done. Without a hint of anger or resentment on his face, Bugsy casually walked forward and held out his arms, catching his Pokemon before returning it to its ball.

"I had a feeling you were saving your best for last." he looked up at Athena, who was still flapping in place. "Birds." he said without any real meaning behind it. "But you did win. Very impressive! Now take your reward." He pulled out a TM and some prize money and handed them to Jett. "The TM is U-Turn. It's a really cool Bug move that allows you to do this kind of hit-and-run and throw out another Pokemon. I was going to do that with my Scyther but you kinda put a stop to that with your Ekans." he scratched the back of his head. "The money is just money. It doesn't really do anything fun or special." Cough. "Seriously though. Great match. I didn't get to see much of your Noctowl, but your Ekans and Beautifly were serious bruisers. I'm up for a rematch whenever you want. Maybe I'll even use some of my more well-trained Pokemon." He let out that arrogant 'heh-heh' laugh that kids do when they want to be punks. Sure, Jett beat him in the gym challenge, but he had a long way to go before he could match him as a trainer.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 16, 2013 8:25 pm

He had already thought of his next command -- Hypnosis, if you were wondering -- when Pluck was executed, effectively felling Bugsy's third Pokemon. Jett blinked, trying to think of something appropriate to say as he watched the Ledian plummet, only to be caught by his trainer. Athena's victorious trill and Bugsy's comment about him saving his best for last brought the boy's focus back and he recalled the owl. "Good job, Athena," he murmured, attaching the Pokeball back to his belt.

The dark-haired boy couldn't help but smile widely when Bugsy presented him with his winnings, mostly out of giddiness from his victory. "T-thank you!" he said, trying to tone it down a bit but mostly failing. "And I'd love to have a rematch sometime! I have this Pokemon I just got that you might love--" He began to reach for Viy's Pokeball, but then remembered Scarlet. If he brought out the Venipede now for the Walking Bug Pokemon Encyclopedia, they were likely to geek out over the likely disinterested Pokemon for a while. He didn't want to hold his friend up unnecessarily. "Sorry, but I promise, I'll show him to you when I come back. I have to meet a friend. Thank you again, Bugsy -- it really was a great battle!" Flashing another grin at the gym leader, the boy collected himself and made his way out of the gym, intent on finding Scarlet. Luckily for him, the redhead wasn't far: as he walked right out of the gym, the dark-haired boy, squinting to adjust to the sunlight, ran right into his traveling companion.

"Hey!" he cheered, taking a step back. "I just won!" He resisted the urge to show Scarlet his shiny new badge and instead took a breath, trying to calm down and not be too annoying. "How uh, how's your morning been? Are you feeling ready? I mean, I don't think you should worry, what with Cindy and all, but..."

Suddenly finding himself choking in his scarf that the Axew managed to get caught in. The two of them wrestled slightly while Dante trying to still hold onto the baby Turtwig while getting the tusk out of the cloth. The teen probably could have gotten out of it himself if it wasn't for the fact that his Turtwig seemed to think this was now a game and had joined them in tangling herself with the Axew and choking Dante with the scarf. Putting them both down Dante did his best to untangle them all and after a moment he had the group untangled. Hearing someone holding back laughter Dante straightened up his coat picked the two little monsters up and sent a glare at Randell. "Shut up." he muttered before stalking out of the room both Pokemon under his arm.

Still as Danite entered into the room and took in the sight of Keegan already in his next battle he felt a sudden sense of inadequacy. Here Keegan was blasting his way through the gym trainers and all in all showing how hard he had worked and how hard he had trained. Dante felt as if he had wasted a bit of his time. He was left behind now he could see just how far behind he was now. What did he have to show from the last time he saw Keegan? A Dusclops that didn't respect him anymore, his first Pokemon was in the hospital and instead of dealing with his problem head on he had just run away, a young dragon that hated everything, and a newly hatched Pokemon that looked up to Keegan more then him. Things in his life were pretty s**t right now. Well that was why he was here right? Well part of it. Still seeing Keegan taking out the gym leaders Pokemon with ease seemed to put a fire under him. When he was done visiting Keegan he would need to do some serious training, first order of business would be getting his whole team on the same page.

The battle at hand though was pretty interesting Keegan was stopped for just steam rolling over this trainer though her creative uses of her Pokemon's abilities. It was still something to pay attention to though, in a surprisingly good moment of being a decent trainer, or maybe a sign of himself actually stepping up as a trainer Dante spoke to the young Pokemon he was charged with. "You see even how tough Keegan is you can still always counter power with clever tactics. Now Helios can't use that attack again. Granted Keegan will still probably wipe the floor with her but who knows, anything can happen in a battle and you should be ready for anything."

Oh, so Mike wasn't asleep after all. Kasiya pouted slightly as she realized that he'd seen her fall flat on her face yet again. Her pout didn't last too long, however, as she felt the gentle touch of his warm hand on her skin and she shivered lightly. "Yeah, it most certainly does," she giggled, toying with the lightning bolt pendant around her neck. "Plaid is my colour, after all," she added, rolling onto her side so that she could look at him. The light glow he gave off was eerily calming and she wriggled a bit closer to him, reaching out with her hand and running it up and down his bare arm, her skin tingling from the warmth. "I'm so glad I can touch you again," she said quietly, before realizing how exactly that statement could be taken and her cheeks flushed scarlet. "I-I mean... that you're not burning hot," she added, forcing herself to calm down some.

Again she was filled with the disbelief that she was actually here, with him, but as she gazed into his eyes, she smiled. What was meant to be would find a way, it seemed. She couldn't recall feeling happier than she was feeling right now at this very moment, and she sighed, inching even closer before grabbing his arm and draping it over her. "I love you, so very much," she whispered, leaning in close and kissing him. "So very, very much."

Grotle had returned to his trainer's side, looking oddly pleased with himself for beating that strange, scary ghost-thing. The Grove Pokemon looked on as Aquarius did his best to defend himself from Hippopotas' attack. In a rare showcase of ambition, Grotle stepped forward, eager to blast that annoying thing away with a Razor Leaf, but he stopped himself when he felt Jaeshan's hand on his head and he looked over to see that Jae had dropped to the ground beside him. "Not our fight, buddy," the blond whispered, nodding to the dark-haired girl. "I know you wanna help, but just think about how mad Jade will get if we do, okay?" Grotle glanced over at the dark-haired girl, eyes widening slightly and he nodded. That was all the warning he needed.

With his Pokemon calmed down, Jaeshan continued to watch the battle, feeling confident that Jade could win this. Aquarius was definitely an odd little Pokemon, though as he watched the Psyduck, it once again struck a chord of familiarity in the back of his mind. He furrowed his brow a little as he tried to figure out exactly what it was he was trying to remember, watching as Aquarius launched an impressive Water Pulse. When did he learn that one? the blond thought, resisting the urge to cheer out loud as he wasn't sure if Jade would appreciate it or simply shoot him a death glare instead. When she gave the command for a Water Gun, however, he knew it was all over. A strong shot of water and the hippo Pokemon was down, and Jaeshan jumped to his feet, smirking as Jade delivered a cutting remark to Clay before he and his gang went into full-retreat mode.

They'd done it - they'd fought off the biker bullies and now Cycling Road was free for all to use again, and he couldn't help but grin wider at the small show of applause he and Jade received on behalf of their actions - the blue-haired girl was cheering quite loudly as well. He returned Grotle to his Pokeball as he approached his victorious companion. It was easy to see how excited he was over their double win. For a moment it seemed like he hadn't even heard Jade's comment as he had stooped down slightly and slid his arms around her waist, actually hoisting her off the ground a few feet before swinging the both of them around, laughing happily the entire time. As he set her down again, without even thinking he leaned in quickly and pressed his lips against hers, and after a few seconds had passed and his brain caught up with the rest of him he pulled back, already looking quite embarrassed. "Holy crap I am so sorry I don't know what I was thinking sorry!" he said hurriedly, his words all rushing together as he forgot what punctuation was entirely. His instinct was to back away slowly as he was fairly certain he was about to be on the receiving end of Jade's foot, or fist.

Amy and her Wooper's shocked reaction was more than reward enough to Surge and his Raichu, as by now it was generally very common knowledge around Vermilion City that Surge liked to play an intimidation game. The bespectacled girl seemed to gather her composure, ordering for the little Wooper to use Dig, and Dig he did. It was Surge and Raichu's turn to stare in awe at Marshall's unorthodox digging methods, and it wasn't until all that remained was a small pile of upturned earth that the gym leader straightened up. "Well then, Raichu, there's only one thing left to do," he said, smacking a large hand against his chest. "Double Team!" Nodding, the Mouse Pokemon continued to smirk as he dashed off in all different directions, scattering himself to the winds as now five different Raichu were positioned at various places across the battlefield. Dig was always a dangerous move, regardless of how tiny the Pokemon was that was using it.

A few moments later, the stereotypical anime style shy girl appeared. The one with the really modest clothing, constantly looking at her feet, and the bangs covering both her eyes. Fidgeting as her older friends tried to make her more confident and battle she pulled out her poke ball. "D-do you guys really think I should. Dad just gave me Thresh after coming back from Fuchsia City."

"Your dad gave you Thresh so you could bond and be friends. There is no point in not battling, so why not give it a shot." With a few more words of encouragement from Kressen and her classmates Sara sent out Thresh who happened to be a Dratini. A whistle escaped Kressen. "That's a rare pokemon you've got there Sara. You should be really happy to have gotten a dragon type as your first pokemon."

He threw out Odin hoping that he could stand up to the dragon type. Gigas and Gilgamesh had a type disadvantage and he didn't think Matues would fair that much better. "You can make the first move. I'm sure you know how to kick things off." Odin simply watched the Dratini wondering how it moved about with no arms or legs.

Sara while new, had seen battles before. "A-Alright then. Thresh start things off with dragon rage!" Odin got his answer when the Dratini slithered forth with surprising speed and belted forth a blast into his face sending him flying head over heels across the ground. The little dragon type was pretty darn fast. "...What, it knows Dragon rage already?" This battle was off to a rocky start. Another his like that and Odin would be out for the count.

Okay, so no more Heat Wave, not that it mattered much. Keegan considered calling for another Fire Blast, but as scarily powerful as it was, it wasn't the most accurate of moves, so he opted for something a little safer. At least for now. "Dark Pulse," the redhead commanded coolly, glancing behind him at his little entourage. Dante was whispering something to the young Pokemon and he frowned a little - that wasn't likely a good thing, though of course he was a little too late to be worried about the wisdom the auburn-haired trainer was imparting on his young and impressionable Pokemon. The Ninetales, meanwhile, flicked his tails in annoyance, even if he wasn't sure what he was supposed to be annoyed as he took up an offensive stance, a black aura encompassing his shiny, golden fur. He gave a bark and the aura raced out around him from all directions, combining to form a single, pulsating beam of darkness that arched toward Alexia's Wigglytuff.

"Wigglytuff, no!" Alexia wailed. "Fight back with your, um, Shadow Ball!" The pink Balloon Pokemon quickly formed the shadowy orb between her paws and lobbed it forward, but Helios' Dark Pulse was too strong. The Shadow Ball exploded as the dark ray hit it, and it kept going before striking the Normal-type right in the center of her round, plushy body. Both Keegan and Helios gave irritated growls when they saw the Wigglytuff manage to get back up to her feet, although shakily. "Body Slam!" the girl yelled. She was determined to put at least some hurt on that snooty fox!

"Flamethrower," Keegan said quickly, and Helios stepped forward as he opened his mouth and sent out a scorching jet of flames right into the face of the oncoming Pokemon. Wigglytuff didn't get very far before falling back down again, and this time she didn't get back up again. Deciding that he didn't need to berate the poor girl, Keegan folded his arms over his chest and just watched her as she recalled her charred Pokemon.

"Not yet, you don't," Alexia growled, quickly swapping PokeBalls. "I've got one more!" Of course you do, Keegan thought, refraining from rolling his eyes as she sent out an equally pink Pokemon, a Clefable. "Clefable, use Metronome!" The Fairy Pokemon waddled forward and began to waggle her fingers back and forth to an unheard rhythm.

"Stay on guard, Helios, anything can happen," Keegan warned, readying himself, as well. Metronome was gamble at best and a dangerous one, at that, but Keegan had never been all that lucky - knowing his luck, they'd wind up on the wrong end of a Hydro Pump or Stone Edge attack. Even if Helios was more experienced, a powerful move like that would do some serious damage.

Mike smiled as Kasiya inched her way over to him. Her hand was cold only by comparison as it dragged across his skin, but he didn't mind. In fact, he enjoyed the feeling. Like her, he too was in a state of shock at the situation at hand, even though he really shouldn't have been. When everyone else looked at him with fear and doubt, not once did she waver. She was always there to calm him down, cheer him up, and to reassure him that he was alright; that he wasn't alone. Kasiya always found a way to fix him. He laughed gently at her stumble, this time over words, not rocks or discarded shoes. It was gentle and warm, unlike any he had done before. He couldn't help but be reminded of a similar slip up she had done months ago-something about pokeballs-and he grinned, keeping it to himself for now. She was flustered enough. "It's okay," he said, stroking her cheek. "I know what you meant."

The way she looked at him, the smile on her lips. She wanted to be there. She really, truly did. He almost couldn't believe it. Mike found himself unable to do much more than stare, his heart pounding as she pulled him closer and leaned in. He took in a breath, ever fearful, as she pressed against him. Her lips were soft, but like the proclamation of love that preceded it, they hit their mark straight and true. She meant it. "I love you, too." he rushed to say as he pulled away from her, nearly gasping. "More than you could ever, possibly know." He meant it, too. He looked to her, his eyes asking the question his lips could not, and returned the kiss, pouring into it all of his passion, his desire, his love. Breathe softly, he urged as he slowly shifted himself on top of her, putting all of his weight on his arms, not her. Be gentle. Don't lose control. You won't hurt her. You can do this. His heart was smashing against his chest, but even as he continued to kiss her and run his hands along her back, he didn't give off much more heat. No smoke. No flames. You can do this, he repeated.

As incredible as it felt, Mike had not quite mastered the art of making out just yet, and needed air. He pulled back, holding himself over her with trembling arms as he gasped in a volatile mix of lust and confusion. He was scared, unsure of what to do next. Unsure of what she wanted to do next. Now breathing heavily, Mike tried to form words, but it was just not going to happen. Instead, he looked down at her shirt, then back up to her, raising his eyebrows in inquiry as he tried to catch his breath. All he needed was a signal. A nod, words, anything.
