___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "We face the king of demons, the monster that once ruled all Magvel. He's more powerful than any one of us here. But we have something that beast will never have. We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity. That is our weapon. That is our strength. Is everyone ready? We're going to win." "Haaa!" Ripping the spear Reginleif from the corpse of a monster, Ephraim twirled it a bit, gripping it with both hands and slashing the spear's blade through another monster that flew towards him--cutting the flying monster's front section in half and sending its body down to the ground below. "..." Ephraim took a deep breath, standing and running a hand through his hair. Blood from the monsters clung to a fair amount of his torso and legs, but it wasn't exactly bothered. This wasn't his first monster slaughter. And a slaughter it was, as there were myriad monster corpses strung about here and there around his person. He had happened upon an overturned vehicle and a legion of monsters trying to force their way in, so he took the liberty of killing them. "Thank you! Oh, I thought we were dead for sure..." It seemed he saved a small family--a man, woman, and two children. Ephraim helped the father to lift the vehicle back onto its tires, and it seemed it still worked just fine. The family offered him a ride--along with a nice meal--but he declined. He stood there and watched as the vehicle drive away, the two children waving at him from the backseat. Ephraim returned the wave, though he had to hope the children weren't too scarred from seeing that massacre. "..." And as per usual, his mind drifted back to Renais, and his duty as king. He was happy he managed to save their lives, but after he returned to his lofty throne, he wouldn't have as many opportunities to directly help those in need. Of course, he could help people on a much grander scale, but even so... part of him would miss this. That was a part he could never quite let go of. And of course... he still reveled in a good battle. It was something he was partly ashamed of, as it was not a healthy impulse for a king--but these feelings couldn't simply be done away with. On the path of his life, he came to many decisions, and few if any of them were decisions between what was absolutely right or wrong--only decisions between two different grays. That often made things a struggle for him, but... that struggling and perseverance made him who he was. Letting out a deep breath, he turned to continue on his way. He was a bit exhausted, and he couldn't help but think about how much he now needed to bathe, both for the sweat and blood. (( OOC: ))

The wind carried with it the familiar soft flapping of elegant Pegasus wings from the sky, and an even more familiar figure atop of it. "Ephraiiiiiiiiiiim! " The blue haired princess waved her hand as if to catch his attention in one very awkward, silly greeting. Untimely cheerfulness, at it's best in the middle of a blood bath of scattered dead monster corpses. As Achaeus touched the ground, in a bit of a wobbly landing, Tana was quick to hop off. There was no mistaking the bright smile of the cheerful princess. "There you go, fighting on your own again! " She would come to a stop, right there in front of him, forcing him to stop in his obviously exhausted steps. "You shouldn't let such lowly creatures taint such a handsome face.." As she said this, to his surprise, he would feel her fingertips delicately brush over the side of his face, where a little blood painted his face of his many kills. "Such a look isn't fit for a king, is it? " She leaned in just a tiny bit closer, he may even feel the heat of her own body due to just how close she was to his own.Achaeus began stomping on the ground with it's front hooves, whining in a not so kind manor. It seemed to be very unhappy with Tana, as it's focus was set on her, while she clearly ignored it, hoping that Ephraim's attention was only set on her, despite the loud, angry noises coming from the Pegasus! ".....You did all of this...without Siegmund? Where is it? Why would you come out all this way without your most valuable protection?" It was kind of protection, when it came to deadly monsters that MIGHT be a challenge for him!

We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity. That is our weapon. That is our strength. Is everyone ready? We're going to win." Ephraim came to a stop as he felt himself called out to, turning to glance at the Pegasus Knight princess making her way over to him. An unexpected visit, but not necessarily unwelcome. He opened his mouth to speak, then noticed the rather wobbly landing of her Pegasus, causing him to stop, leaning his head slightly back, as though he thought something was off. Tana was usually very graceful with her flight. Perhaps her Pegasus wasn't feeling well? ...But then why would she have it fly in the first place? Strange. "I didn't exactly have time to try to find reinforcements.Had I done nothing, people may have died." Quite the formal response for a somewhat playful statement, but Ephraim had a tenancy to act this way at times. "...?" Ephraim let out a surprised breath as she said her next piece, followed by her hand coming to stroke his face. The delicate brushing of her fingertips were... rather titillating. That along with her words earned a surprising blush from the young king. Tana was suddenly rather smooth! "T-Tana..." He leaned his head slightly back as she leaned forward--the heat from her body causing his sudden nervousness to increase. "This sort of contact is hardly... proper..." He said, taking a small step back. That said, he didn't seem to hate it, per se. "Well, I'm not exactly a regular king." At her last words, he tilted his head slightly. What an odd thing to ask... "...Siegmund is a sacred treasure of Renais. It is not the sort of tool I intend to parade around with me in every battle I should find myself in. I use Siegmund out of necessity alone, and generally I can fell a foe without its extraordinary power. Do you think so little of my ability without it? Perhaps you and I should spar so you can see my skill firsthand." He was an extremely capable warrior--it wasn't Siegmund that made him strong, but rather it only added to his prowess and made him an even more massive threat when he did use it. He paused a moment. Why was her Pegasus acting up so much? Maybe it really was sick? ...Hmm. Perhaps best not to ask right away. "...But what exactly brings you here, if you don't mind my asking?" (( OOC: ))

"..Ahaha...That's..true.." Minor misfortune, nothing to suspicious. Everyone had their off days! "You may have saved many lives, had they gotten into the cities, that would have been terrible.." ..Tana's face fell into a faint frown, as if thinking of what may of happened. "There is nothing you can't do, Ephraim, hero of the lands.." She said playfully, just before she would place her fingertips over the side of his face. Her smiling face returned, only to seem to grow at his sudden blush, and the coming protest as he took a step away. "Is it..? Is it so wrong for your old friend to be closer to you? Would it be so wrong to ask for something of my dearest friend? ...Just one little hug--How long has it been, I wonder...Since anyone has held me, it feels like so long ago.So long ago since I've felt my fathers comforting arms around me. Innes will do no such thing, as if I was some sort of plague of the earth! ..But you....You most of all, it would mean so much to me, just for a moment..." She stepped close again, this time letting her arms slip around his upper back, giving him no room to step away this time. "Will you continue to push me away too? " Her cheerful tone had dropped immensely into that of sadness, as her eyes seemed to stare helplessly into his own. For a moment, he would feel her tighten her arms around him as she looked into his eyes. "..Forget I said that.I'm sorry, of course I would never think little of your abilities. " More tiny fails, but nothing to terrible. "About that spar, I will have to decline. I came here unarmed, we were just....getting air. I had no intention of getting into a battle...." Being in the sky made her an impossible target, right? '"...Siegmund....if it isn't with you now..Then you left it at your home? " Why the sudden interest in Siegmund? She never spoke of it with such interest before. Why now?

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "We face the king of demons, the monster that once ruled all Magvel. He's more powerful than any one of us here. But we have something that beast will never have. We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity. That is our weapon. That is our strength. Is everyone ready? We're going to win." "...Yes." Ephraim responded wearily, giving her a look. What was with her today...? She was still acting like Tana, but--actually, acting like Tana was exactly it. It was as though she were TRYING to act like she always did. Why was that? Was she feeling unwell? Or saddened? ...It was strange. "...There are a great many things I cannot do. I have limitations like anyone else. As capable a fighter as I may be, my statecraft leaves much to be desired. And I..." He paused. He only now realized he was being even more formal and distant than usual. Why was that? He didn't notice how on guard he was until now... "Tana. I am engaged to be married, and if someone saw the way you were behaving, it may be misinterpreted. And beyond that, you are a princess. Acting so familiar isn't what most would consider proper. It also isn't like you. What is with you today...?" Honestly, if he had been around Eirika instead, he would've likely seen straight through the act. Considering how close he was to Eirika--the two WERE twins--any slight deviance from the norm wouldn't go unnoticed. Such was true for both of them. "What? That's- Tana!" He took another step backward, putting his palm out to her shoulder to keep her from getting closer. "I apologize if I seem rude, but if you're looking for intimacy, you're looking in the wrong place. This isn't like you..." It was unlike her to be so open, at least. "...What? Why do you keep asking about-?" The confusion on his face was replaced by that of realization--finally, the pieces fit together in his head. Why WOULD she be asking about Siegmund? The bane of monsters, and Reapers... Why would she come out here unarmed? Why would her Pegasus be acting so unruly towards her? Her, who trained and loved the Pegasus? It wouldn't. Mordi. The woman before him may feel a slight vibration through the earth, and suddenly, an all-too familiar spear shot up from the earth. Gripping the shaft as it shot up, Ephraim held the spear with both his hands, pressing it forward--against Tana's neck rather threateningly. "Don't move a muscle." He said, the tone in his voice equally threatening. His eyes were narrowed into her own. "Where is Tana? What did you do to her?" Whoops, one too many mistakes for this perceptive king. "If you don't answer quickly, I'll run this through your throat." It seemed pretty clear the jig was up. He wouldn't be doing this if he still believed the possibility existed that the person before him was Tana. (( OOC: ))

"Hmm? " Tana fell silent, she seemed to be having difficulties about something. Did she say something she might regret? For much for deeper reasons. "That's right. You are engaged to be married....to a women you don't know. At least, not as well as you do of me. I can't play this game anymore. I want you to know my feelings for you. Do they not matter at all?! I love you. I don't care what anyone thinks, the only thing that matters is what we can have together! " She seemed to have some strange belief that maybe there was hope between them, or so she would have him believe. But Tana may of made her biggest mistakes in bravery and pushiness, her plan wasn't going quite as she hoped for it to go. Not even close, and when his palm came to rest at her shoulder to keep her apart, it was clear she wasn't getting past him. "...Terrible..cold, even. " She said rather calmly, despite the fact that the sought after weapon of choice was now suddenly, right against her neck. "...To think, you wouldn't even hug her.." Well, her act was clearly over, wasn't it? But that didn't mean she had to slip out of the 'disguise'. "Should I tell her how much you despise her? Not even a shred of sympathy! I thought I pulled her off well enough. " She seemed rather calm, given the situation she was now in. "Hehehe....Oh, you will? If you kill me, deary boy, how will you find out where your precious....oh, forgive me, your despised Tana is?? I don't think it would be your best decision to kill me now. There's far to much at stake for you. However, if you want her back, all you have to do is hand your true precious here over. Otherwise, uh ohs..no more Tana! Oh, how many weeks has it been since this fun began? Hahaha...You don't play that close attention to your friends and family, do you? To never have noticed in all that time, leaving people to suffer while you play hero to the world! "

We're going to win." It was ironic, for the one playing the role of Tana was certainly correct in feigning love for the king--it was true that Tana had feelings for him. But Ephraim's inability to perceive women's feelings very well actually served to benefit him in this situation, as her little confession just continued to raise red flags. It didn't help her that this was in addition to all the small mistakes she was making. Not everyone would've been able to notice these things, but few things got past Ephraim. ...At least, few things beyond a girl's romantic interest in him."...Did you think creating some fake romantic interest would make your act more believable?" It was shocking how perceptive he was and yet how oblivious he was to Tana's feelings, and by extension anyone else who was interested in him. "You woefully misjudged my relationship to Tana. We aren't the sort to just casually... touch each other." That sounded a bit less sexual in his head. His face even reddened a bit for a moment after saying it. Surely he wasn't imagining something there, right...? As she began to speak in her oh-so-confident tone, Ephraim shook his prior thoughts away, pressing the spear against her throat even closer. "There are other Reapers." He said rather simply. 'You seem to have the idea that you have any sort of power or leverage here. Against me. You don't." He pulled the spear back a bit, so it wasn't pressing directly against her throat. "I'm not here to bargain. Bring me to Tana or tell me where she is, or I'll kill you and find another Reaper." She might be able to tell that he wasn't exactly bluffing here--he didn't find her life to be particularly valuable. However, she might also be able to tell he did feel some... attraction... towards her. It seemed her forward behaviorism earlier, while it didn't help her to convince him she was Tana, did have some potentially positive effects on him for her. He was still a man in his prime, and her behavior was the sort he found appealing--and, well... Tana was quite the attractive girl, in both beauty and body. Though the Reaper's true form would probably also be rather attractive... (( OOC: ))

Tana then just....vanished! What a neat trick to see 'her' pull off. Her laughter hung into the air, only to suddenly change to a much more sinister laugh as the vivid purple clad Reaper now appeared in place of where Tana once stood. One might think she would of appeared a safe distance away from the threatening spear, but she didn't. "Hehehe....Oh, press your big pointy stick harder." She said with a twisted grin, reaching up her hand to grab just below the sharp, deadly end. "It's so big.." Gods, was she ever the naughty one of possibly all the Reapers combined. She let go a moment after, and finally would distance herself with a quick teleport a few safe feet away from the spear. "But I do, cutie..Do you think many other Reapers are in on this grand adventure of ours? Oh, no no no...It's a top secret mission, you see. There are only a very select few, you will never guess the right ones! It's to late for them.." Was she just trying to play at his mind a little, frighten him into thinking the worst and using that as a way of distracting him? Maybe. But with this unpredictable girl, it wasn't always easy to read into her trickery. "Now then, I've come for your little stingy toy. I won't be leaving without it..!" Without warning, a rather large winged object would slam into his body at such speed, even he would have extreme difficulties dodging it, hopefully enough to knock him back into the ground, and cause him to lose his grip on Siegmund! Though if he didn't, the next thing he would feel over him was the slender legs of a Reaper around his body.. "Ohh, this is kind of hot, isn't it? Do you....like this position? We are touching, you know..heehee...Is this to improper for you? I doubt that. You really got it on with the Queen well! " He would feel something that may seem bazaar, even impossible. It felt as though she were some kind of heavy weight, enough that he would not be able to shove her off no matter what he tried. And her hands? They were just as strong, and they were pinning him down painfully to the ground even with Siegmund still in his grasp. "Time to let it go! "

We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity. That is our weapon. That is our strength. Is everyone ready? We're going to win." The moment the impostor before him vanished, Ephraim turned his head to look over his shoulder behind him. The teleporting foes he had fought before always loved to appear behind him, so he was generally prepared. Though his attention was brought back to his front as he felt Siegmund tugged slightly. "You..." Ephraim grunted--this girl's attempts to get him riled up were certainly getting the job done. He was rarely if ever susceptible to taunting, as he was aware that was a strategy to get someone to make mistakes and act without thinking, but this girl's sexually suggestive nature seemed particularly effective against him. He wasn't exactly used to foes acting like this. "Take this seriously!" He said, trying to hide how flustered she was making him. But how easily she was able to create distance did show he wasn't fully at his best. "Is that so... And you expect me to take you at your word?" She could very easily be bluffing. If she wasn't, though... this could be difficult. Before he could think too much on that, though, her next words came. "That would explain your interest in it. Why exactly are you after my Sacred Twin? And do you expect to get it so easily?" And out of nowhere, a sudden force slammed into him, sending him straight down to his back and sliding a few feet backwards. Needless to say the wind was knocked out of him and he became momentarily dazed. Not enough that he didn't feel the Reaper crawling atop him, though. "Ghhh..." He felt himself pinned firmly against the ground beneath the slender girl, and any attempt to free himself was entirely in vain. His exhaustion was catching up to him, as he let out a deep breath as he laid back beneath her, closing his eyes. He was breathing somewhat heavily. Was he really defeated? That quickly? That easily? ...Her opportunistic timing was pretty perfect, taking advantage of his already exhausted state. Now that he laid here against the ground, so firmly pinned down by the girl on top, his body didn't want to move. ...And with her positioning, along with the feeling of being so firmly put down by this slender, attractive Reaper, all along with her earlier suggestive teases... Ephraim's body was reacting to her in a way he wished it wouldn't. Depending on how she was straddling him, she might notice it too. Her mentioning his little encounters with Krul only made things worse, too... (( OOC: ))

" Me.." She grinned, snickering in an amused manor. "Why ever would I do such a bor-tesk thing?I'm having far to much fun watching you become so flustered over me. It's okay, I know i'm hot. So much more so then a scaly mermaid. It can be our little secret. " Her grin widened." Why do I want it? Come on now, you are a little smarter then that! Not that I will be giving you that information..The only threat to us, is these special weapons you humans possess. Without them, you may still have your natural skills, but the advantage you once had will be no longer. That's all you need to know, dear flustered king. " She nodded her head. "Yes. Poor Tan-Tan didn't stand a chance. It was gone before she even knew what happened, hahaha..." And then, Ephraim was forced to painfully meet Peppit, who sent him down to the ground in mere seconds. "Oh, say hello to Peppit. Such a rough greeting, huh? " She was full of jokes today! And then, she was suddenly over him, straddling him in a rather...naughty manor, not surprising for this Reaper. "You should just admit i'm your type. Your happy place sure says it for you.." Yeah, Viola was a bad girl. No doubt. She began to move his wrists above his head, getting them close enough so that her one hand could continue to hold the two of his wrists down, while her now free hand rested over the base of Siegmund, she began to pull it...forcefully! Would his exhaustion be the fault of him losing his most sacred weapon of all time?

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "We face the king of demons, the monster that once ruled all Magvel. He's more powerful than any one of us here. But we have something that beast will never have. We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity. That is our weapon. That is our strength. Is everyone ready? We're going to win." "...You may be attractive, but I've fought more attractive foes in my life. Krul, for instance. And more often than not I come out on top." Except at least one time, where she was certainly the one who... ended up on top. "You'll need more than attraction if you want to defeat me." He took a deep breath, allowing himself a moment to calm his flustered mind. This was a tactic that was proving effective against him, and he noticed that--which meant he would have to try to keep himself focused. "That's the only threat to you, is it? You have confidence. Perhaps too much." If she thought Ephraim wouldn't pose a threat without Siegmund, she had another thing coming. Though it seemed the situation had suddenly turned around, as he found himself on his back, with the slender girl on top of him. She had him firmly held down, and now she had complete control over the situation. What was he to do? It seemed like she had won so very easily. ...Though if she thought that, she wasn't aware of how clever and resourceful Ephraim could be. As she began to pull Siegmund to try to pry it away from him, she might notice, she managed to pull it from his grasp rather easily. ...But immediately as that excitement of victory would hit her, so would something else, which was Ephraim's fist directly into her jaw. And the hand that held Siegmund tightened once more, right before she was able to pry it fully from his grasp. Leaning himself up slightly, he slammed his elbow directly into her skull, using his strength to rip Siegmund back out of her hands and fully into his grasp once again. How did he manage this? Noticing she grasped Siegmund from the base of the spear, he released it for a moment in order to ensure her full attention was set on the spear, and her mind would think she won. In that moment, he slid his free hand out of the glove he had had on--as she was pinning him down using that, which gave him a bit more room to maneuver. Punching her in the face in that moment would not only catch her off-guard, but ensure he had the time and leverage to grip Siegmund again, thus being able to pull it back from her grasp. What a crafty and quick-minded king he was--something all his enemies would have to learn eventually. Taking a step back, he reached into a small pocket on his belt, throwing out a powdery substance that flew out over Viola's form, attaching to her skin and seeping in. "If this is your goal, I'll let it fall further from your reach." He stabbed Siegmund into the ground, and in the next moment, it shot down into the earth, no-doubt from the same force that delivered it to him in the first place. He raised Reginleif once again, a wide smirk forming over his features. In all the excitement and exhaustion, it seemed that side of Ephraim was coming out once again--his usually composed nature turning into that of a wild berserker. This generally only happened when his back was to the wall, or when he was involved in a particularly enjoyable fight--and it was when Ephraim went from dangerous to wildly dangerous. "You think we're nothing without the Sacred Twins, is that it...? Heh.... Alright, let's test that theory!!" He shouted, sprinting towards her and delivering a harsh stab directly for her thigh, and had that connected, he would use his off-hand to grip her by one of her pigtails, yanking her roughly and forcing her down onto the ground. "Come on! Show me why you're confident! Stand up!" Gripping Reginleif with both his hands, he plunged the spear directly into her back, effectively pinning her to the ground had she not dodged. "This can't be all! The only threat to you is those weapons! If that were true, why are you in such a bad spot...?" He would twist Reginleif into her back, his grin widening slightly. "Reginleif doesn't have monster-slaying properties, you know. But do you think you'll survive this encounter?" This side of him--the side that showed how he reveled in fighting and testing himself, was a lot more common when he was younger. But in the time since the War, and ascending the throne, he suppressed it more often. It was part of the impulses not befitting that of a king he often thought about. It wasn't anything like a split personality, this was just one side of him. Now one might ask, why wouldn't Viola just teleport away? Especially since her objective--Siegmund--had already been taken away. Well, that was what the powdery substance was for. When she felt like it was time to make her escape and teleport away, she would feel a mild burning sensation--exactly where that substance entered her skin. And her abilities to teleport would fail her. Ephraim was a bit tired of having to deal with beings that could flaunt their advantages of teleportation, so he asked a certain someone for something that could level the playing field. And it seemed this little test run would prove that it worked just as intended. Which, had everything gone as planned, might be a particularly bad thing for Viola here... (( OOC: ))

Viola shrugged her shoulders, uninterested in what he had to say. "I just need to be myself, and you will lose like a good little boy. " He was certainly right, though. That confidence was actually one of her biggest flaws, and one of her main reasons for nearly every loss. That was also proven once again, when the victory she so was ready to celebrate as Siegmund began to find it's way into her grasp, was cut so very short with his fist coming in contact with her jaw. That alone was sadly enough to make her lose her grip, and nearly fall over off of him, but it was his elbow that really got her off. "...What a way to treat a lady..." Always had to come off tough, the fact that blood was dripping from her bottom lip didn't matter at all! With her still on the ground for the moment, she didn't think quickly enough to move away from the strange powdery substance, until it was already a bit to late! She could feel the strangest sensation as it began attaching to her skin, it certainly wasn't the feeling of nice soothing lotion. "Ugh, what the hell was that?! " A scary mystery. Scarier then the fact that her sought after prize sunk right into the ground before her eyes. "....Ah..haha....So afraid...to have it taken from you?...It only proves you need it. It only proves how much you DO rely on it to win a battle against my kind! You ARE nothing without them!! " Her own rage was starting to show, before, it was all fun and games, now? She couldn't contain her anger. As her eyes focused on Ephraim's form sprinting toward her, her...next mistake would be made. There was a very uncomfortable sensation of slight burning covering her skin, anywhere a certain substance touched, seemed to burn her as she attempted to teleport away! "..?!!" " And then came a new burning, this time at her thigh, only this was far more intense on the pain level, causing her to fall to her knee. While she attempted to grab his hand that grabbed her in his next move, it also seemed to fail her. He had..definitely gotten the upper hand here. How did this happen?! Reaper's weren't easy to kill, and that may be what they had going for them, but it didn't mean they didn't feel pain just like everyone else. A spear through the back? ...There were no words to describe that kind of pain. Her body wouldn't respond to her due to it, and possibly due to a giant blade sticking into her back. Was it possible to..paralyze a Reaper??! Closing her eyes, she held back the screams of pain she knew he wanted to hear, which was hardly an easy task. Her face was unable to hide the pain, however, nor was her voice... "...If....you only...knew....I will survive....and when I'm healed, i'll be sure to send you the greatest pain you will ever know. I will kill her. I will send them ALL to kill her....Torture her....I will see her suffer in unimaginable agony, and when we are done, I personally...Will present to you.....her dismembered body, at your feet. I will make you suffer!! " ...But who was she talking about? Obviously it was Tana, wasn't it? Or maybe...someone else. It really could be anyone.

We're going to win." "Lose like a good boy? Is that so?" Ephraim seemed to imagine the scenario playing out a much different way. Even though he was exhausted, he had excellent conditioning and was used to being involved in long battles and warfare. Exhaustion alone was not nearly enough to stop him--if it were he wouldn't have survived in war. "It'll take a lot more than this to stop me." Ephraim said seriously as he got back his feet after his plan was successfully executed. "Just something to make sure we fight on relatively equal terms," he answered simply to her annoyed inquiry. "We'll see about that." He responded simply as she began to try to irritate him with talk of requiring Siegmund. It seemed quite clear her attempts to get under his skin, in this instance, were quite fruitless. She wasn't dealing with an average warrior here. As she began to speak, he torqued the spear in her back once again, really just moving it around to cause extreme suffering and force her to shut up. "Your empty threats don't perturb me." He placed a boot on her back, using the leverage to rip the spear straight out. Twirling it, he held the spear so the blade extended from under his hands gripping the shaft, and he dropped down to one knee--one knee pressing directly into her wound. "Are you prepared to die?" He asked, his simple tone sounding as casual as though he were asking about the weather. "Are you afraid to die?" She would feel the blade of the spear begin to press against the back of her neck, pressing just enough so that she would feel it slightly puncture the skin. "Is Krul worth dying for? Is this plan worth dying for? Krul abandoned you once before--I recall it vividly. It was because of that girl that you still live. And here you are, squandering that opportunity. Do you think Krul would come to rescue you now? Go ahead--ask her. Beg her. See if she comes." He remained silent for several moments--giving her ample time to send a telepathic message to Krul. "...Well? Anything? Even a response? I think not. Krul and those who follow her are lowly creatures who only care about their own self-benefit. They would gladly see you perish if it meant they were even slightly better-off for it. That girl--the one who saved you--she said you were different. You had potential to change. Is that so? You don't have to die here, a cold, lonely death at the end of my spear. Pledge to help me save Tana, and whomever else may be trapped by the ploys of those you work with, and you will live. Do not, and I'll run this through your neck and sever your head from your shoulders. Now, tell me again--is Krul worth dying for?" He made quite the compelling case, didn't he? Ephraim's natural charisma and speech skills were particularly beneficial in situations like this, as well as being a capable leader on the battlefield. Having her in a situation where refusal meant death certainly didn't hurt his case either, though. (( OOC: ))

All the confidence in the world didn't save her from this terribly gone wrong fate of hers. And no amount of pain would break her from the unknown spell he was forced into, by the lovely Reaper, Krul. It was the fate of any Reaper who once fell into her rule, there truly was never a full escape for those who left, as they would only be forced back in, in some way if Krul wanted it. "...Ask that...to yourself.." She managed to say through the pain. "Death doesn't scare me.." Was she just saying that in attempt to look tougher, or did she really mean it? It was questionable. "..." He may not notice what was starting to form high in the skies, as the moment he took that moment to remain silent for her to beg for help to Krul, Viola summoned up all of her remaining energy to call upon the rain of death that were speeding down towards the earth. All centered to the exact location the two remained. "...They will all suffer for eternity, but you...You will die here! With me! " If Ephraim didn't prepare himself, he would be in a very deadly situation as the beams of deadly energy began to rain down into the earth like a shower of fallen stars! It only took one of them to strike them both dead.

The beams were getting closer by the second, but would they ever get close enough to hit their targets? The sudden fifty foot wave towering over the two, laced with a special barrier magic that seemed to shimmer at the surface of the wave seemed promising...promising and terrifying on it's own. Explosions erupted with each impact, but it didn't seem to break through the barrier of the wave that now protected them. Below the wave, it was like a monsoon. Sea water naturally poured down from the sky, this was the only possibly unfortunate case about this little trick. She couldn't stop them from getting soaked, but she could keep them from dying. The wave never once weakened from the many strikes it took, and was able to withstand it all until the moment came when it began to get smaller........and smaller.....It continued to shrink in size until it was just a small tiny thing! ....That absorbed into the hand of the one walking toward them...Ephraim didn't even need to see the one who intervened, the wave kind of told it all! "..Are you okay?? " First priority, even though she knew he was okay, she wanted to hear it from him! "...As much as it pains me to say this....Don't kill her." She tried to kill him, but there was reason behind it all, the small detail that Ephraim couldn't of known. "There's a strong magic on her...I would guess our impossible to kill Krul is at the works of this one. If i'm right, she's under her control at such a strong hold, It will be difficult to free her from it.." So, it wasn't truly the work of Viola, but the works of Krul. That made Viola both a victim and innocent of her anything she had done.
