Haldia blinked at Lin in surprise. "Are you staying the winter, then, and continuing to travel after it?" she asked. "I was under the impression that you would be returning home ..."

She felt her face grow warm, though of course it didn't show in the darkness, not that her black skin would show it anyways. "I do not know why I thought that ..."

"I don't know if I will or not after winter, but I will be coming back to continue traveling."

Like really she should drop by home, if for no other reason than to suck it up and visit her grandmother.

"I do need to see my grandmother but otherwise..."

Maybe when she really thought about it, she should just go to the Westland.

"Ah," Haldia murmured softly. "I see."

She was silent for a moment, thoughtful; and then she looked back over to Lin. "Would you settle down here eventually, do you think?"

"Maybe..." Lin murmured, "I'm not quite sure where though."

And she wasn't sure if she was ready to stay in one place yet. She would miss everyone else terribly if she decided to settle.

Haldia nodded and looked up at the ceiling again. "That is the conversation that I am having with myself," she murmured softly. "Where to settle ... and even though I would very much miss the people that I have come to know here, I do not know if I could settle here. My difficulties with communication are immense. And if I cannot communicate with the people with whom I will live, then it will be difficult, for them and for me."

This was true Lin thought there were so few people who knew this language. Since most didn't use it anymore.

"Yea..." Lin murmured, "But like I said... wait and see. We have a long ways to go yet."

"Mm." Haldia closed her eyes and rolled over onto her side again, then curled up under the blanket. "Anyway, we should get some rest," she murmured. "The night is half gone already, and tomorrow will be another day of excitement, I think. Good night, Lin. Sleep well."

And she grew silent as she drifted off into sleep.

"Night..."

Lin curled up to sleep and yet she couldn't help thinking as she drifted off that it was no wonder why her friend was so sad.

Morning came, and Lin decided right off the bat the moment she began to hear the efforts of someone trying to escape the crib that Miyuki was an early riser.

Fortunately she thought as she cracked an eye open, the most the baby could do was stand and bounce, and fall on her butt.

Miyuki's movements also woke Haldia, and the night elf stretched and yawned before climbing out of bed.

"Good morning," she murmured, rubbing her eyes and reaching for her day clothes. She sat down again and pushed her hair out of her face. "Ugh ... I do not know if I will ever get used to waking up in the light."

"The sunlight is a bit blinding when one first wakes up," Lin murmured as she got up and stretched, "Though someone is all bright eyed this morning."

She eyed Miyuki who was as wide awake and ready to start the day whether or not her mother was ready to start the day. Lin shook her head as she slipped out of bed and grabbed her day clothes, getting changed first before changing Miyuki.

Though Haldia was already dressed before Lin even got up, it took her until Lin was ready to go before her hair was finished being brushed. It was so long and so thick ... but she would never consider cutting it. Once it was back in its usual braid, she put her things away and straightened up the bed.

"Set?" she asked, turning to Lin as she pulled her bag over her shoulders.

"Ready," Lin replied once she finished brushing out Miyuki's tail.

Normally as far as she knew tails didn't need to be brushed, but Neko tails were long and thin like a snake, but foxes had bushy tails and it kept Miyuki from shedding.

Haldia nodded and held the door open for her, and away they went.

The others had already gathered for breakfast - and they weren't alone, either. Sitting at the largest table with them were two people: a woman who looked like a very tall Shael (which confused Haldia), and a man who looked as if he were related to her.

"Haldia! Lin!" Rhea beamed as the two appeared. "Come join us!"

Lin waved back making her way over to the group, "It's good to see you again."

She murmured to Shael's brother and sister, it had been a long time since she had last seen them.

Haldia sat down slowly and stowed her bag by her feet, but she couldn't help but stare at the woman who was sitting across from Rhea.

"Shael?" she ventured finally.

Rhea giggled. "Haldia, this is my aunt and uncle, my mother's siblings. Rayna and Reuben."

The two smiled and waved as Rhea continued. "Aunt Rayna, Uncle Reuben, this is Haldia, Kelirahc's friend from Nauros."

"Pleasure to meet you," Reuben said warmly. "Welcome to New Kaliningrad."

Haldia smiled shyly. "Thank you," she murmured softly.
