Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Devil's Bayou}

Solaris hadn't said much as he surveyed the area around him. It was a sad sight. It seemed like everything was trying to kill everything else and the darkness around them was scaring him a bit.

He shuffled silently, as silently as he could, over to Nalo and grabbed his sleeve gently. He just needed some bit of calm in the world, some source of peace. "Thank you..." He mumbled softly, glad that he had met the man.

"We could maybe use magic...." He spoke softly, encouraged by Nalo's presence. He was thinking of some form of fire magic that lasted for several minutes than sputtered out. He felt he might have been able to do it.

~Rasxa~

Life is an Illusion, Therefore, We all Believe the Same Lie

~Devil's Bayou~

As Rasxa angrily glared at the Gummi ship, almost everyone came out and commented on the situation. Multiple people suggested to him that he should calm down. "We could maybe use magic..." Solaris said and as quickly as his temper had flashed it had suddenly disappeared with no conclusion. "That sounds... like a very good idea. But... how would we do that, pray tell?" Rasxa asked, his voice as calm and smooth as ice. His scythe disappeared in a flurry of numbers and he turned around, his face a blank page. Window and Youni shouldn't be separated and I want to be close to them for they both have no protection, that I can see. He thought making quick calculations before approaching Window. "Window, as it is seen that you don't truly have much protection about you, I shall come with you. As you have seen my scythe but still have not known it as well as mine own capabilities." He finished with a bow, although his tone never moved to indicate any emotion at all.

{A heart shed for power is the only heart of worth.}

[Wonderland : The Bizarre Ruins]

Vereor showed little reaction to Fortuna's shape-shifting gimmick, but he was certainly intrigued by her. She had the espionage potential of Aiko or Zekvyr, but the combat skill of Fal'Navi or Revelin. Such was the adaptability of a Keyblade Master, and such was the magnitude of their value. What caught his attention most, however, was something subtle, unseen by anyone not analyzing her as intently as he- the golden eyes.

"Permit me to apologize for my tension; surely, you must understand any aversion to the Keyblade I might have," he responded with a small, almost unnoticeable smile. Without warning, he threw one arm out to his side, shoving aside his cloak for a moment as his arm was completely stretched; he then gave a light bow. "Fortuna, it is a pleasure to have you with us. I am Vereor, the Veiled Gorgon. Why don't you join us up here? If you truly come in peace, then the Conclave of Ruination would be pleased to have you at our side for the presentation to come."

Nαlo

"Solaris, I don't think much magic can help us now...we're either going to need a LOT of it, or more people to help, or some parts. I'm banking that something gotta be somewhere. There always is...Yeah....as much as I don't wanna split up, Enyb, Youni, and I should head off. Solaris, you and Rasxa should accompany Window. Trouble seems to follow him." Nalo punctuated his sentence with a little smirk, though it was hardly visible in the faint, dusk air. "Just be careful, humes. If anything goes wrong, don't leave anyone behind. Meet back here." He looked over to Youni and Enyb, who had grown several sizes larger since he walked out of the ship. The humidity was pretty apparent, even frizzing Nalo's hair, pushing his already unmanageable mane over his eyes. "I'll keep you guys safe. Don't worry Youni, we just need to find some help to fix our ship! Easy peasy!"

Fortuna
Now you see me, now you die

Fortuna raised her brow, then leaped into the air and caught the edge of the platform with one hand, then pulled herself up as gracefully as she possibly could. She ran her hand through her hair, moving a few steps behind Vereor and with the other members of the Conclave.

"As you command..." she stated, the sarcasm in her voice veiled but still noticible if one was looking for it.

[Nymira]

{Life, death, it does not matter. All that matters is that they are mine.}

[Wonderland: Chamber of Descent]

Nymira stood with a smile, hands clapping together at the question of what she could do. "I am so glad you asked me that question."

With a simple snap of her fingers, a small twirl, and a point of her finger, crimson lightning shot out of her digit, zapping away some of the random debris that had laid on the floor. "Of course, that is not all in my bag of tricks, but a girl has to keep some mystery about her, after all."

Of course, the moogle had to ask that question. Was she here alone? Of course not. But how to answer that? Ah, she had just the idea.

With her happiness fading, the girl lowered her hand, instead having it grab her other arm, face looking deeper into the destroyed world. "I came with others, however...they are not amongst the living, anymore. They...did not survive...."

[[ -sighs- Well. Let's try Heartless for activity, then. ]]

[ ӄ ¥ Ѳ ƺ Ʉ Ӷ Ѳ ]

{I shall ascend beyond the gods themselves.}
[ Wonderland : ??? ]

"To one and all, welcome to this dying world."

The deep voice seemed to thunder around those on Wonderland, omnipresent; it was as if the world itself was speaking to its remaining inhabitants.

"What you see before you is not merely the effects of the Darkness, nor is it simply the work of one man; this masterpiece of discord is the result of man and Darkness working in tandem. An unruly force of nature, guided by the grand design of the mortal mind. And I, the Transcendent Tyrant, invite you all to bear witness to the design's fruition. However..."

On cue, the Darkness that covered the world began to live, to breathe a force of its own; Heartless began to form en masse, popping out from every shadow, slipping in from every unlit crevice. The only chamber that was spared this sudden birth of life was the Bizarre Ruin, where the Conclave now waited.

"To those who did not come with the Veiled Gorgon, I issue this warning: you must earn your right to gaze upon such a wondrous event-- one in which the gods themselves tremble. Only if you survive the trials ahead will you be worthy. Overcome the Darkness; tame this force of nature to your will, and then you shall have earned this honor."

The groups would have found themselves surrounded by Heartless in a matter of moments; they were all relatively weak, but they were countless in number.

"Your test begins... now."

The Heartless all launched towards the nearest target, claws and weapons at the ready.

[Moggie : Wonderland : Chamber of Descent]

Moggie sneezed loudly, "Eh- Excuse me... dust got up my nose," she lied as she rubbed her nose. The sneeze was in reaction to the woman's explanation. 'Talk about the cliche damsel in distress. This woman must be crazy if she thinks we are going to believe that story.....'

She looked from Nymira to Soryuju then back at the woman. She didn't care what Soryuju did or said, but she was going to watch this woman's every move.

Moggie's attention was quickly pulled away from Nymira as a voice spoke around them. Before she knew it Heartless were appearing from everywhere. Without hesitation, Moggie released the fire spell she had been saving for the strange girl, hitting a several of the Heartless that jumped at Nymria's back, the heatwave that the fireball made after it made contact, was enough to possibly knock Nymira forward. Not that Moggie cared if it did or not, if it did though, Moggie would of smirked. Nothing like knocking the pretty girls down.

"Careful there, sweetie," the moogle said with a hint of sarcasm as she took her place between the girl and the Heartless, staff ready, "Don't want you to break a nail."

Zigmund

Castle Oblivion --> Wonderland: The Bizarre Ruins

"Well, that certainly took much longer then I thought" Zigmund thought as he stepped through the portal Vereor had left some time ago.

Zigmund had, after many years wandering from world to world, come to realize a very important fact: Magnetism was a fun power, but it had limits. Namely, he needed Metal to work with and metal was sometimes very hard to come by. Luckily, the lab had a whole lot of junk lying around made of metal, so all he needed to do was mold it into a portable form and viola; he had compressible balls of death to control as he filled.

Granted, he did look rather ridicules at the moment with a bunch of shiny metal balls attached to his bandoleer and belt, but they wouldn't all fit into his pockets. Besides, he'd rather be a threat that looked like nonsense then a fashionable dead man any day of the week.

On the other side of the portal, he found what could only be described as utter chaos. The heartless had twisted what appeared to be an already off putting realm into a bastion of anarchy, a twisted shell that was slowly collapsing inwards on itself.

He admired it, really. That something could do this to an entire world in so short a time...perhaps he should reevaluate the direction of his research.

In any case, most of the Conclave appeared to be present, and as he appeared he heard the bellowing voice of who he presumed was their leader issuing a challenge of sorts to anyone on the planet who wasn't among their ranks. It certainly sounded fun to watch, but business came before pleasure and he had some catching up to do.

"I apologize for taking so long" he said as he approached the Veiled Gorgon "But I needed to take some extra precautions before coming. Have I missed any of the fun?"

[*~Youni~*]
"...."
[Gummi Ship: Devils Bayou]

....Everything started with nothing.
A spark of a possible talent…
.... crashing upon the first unfamiliar shore
..The air is damp with uncertainty.

User Image

Youni held on as tightly as she could, as was instructed, clinging to her seat strap as Rasxa piloted the ship into a crash landing onto the strange world. When it was over she looked up at him with her hair disheveled around her mismatched eyes.
“No damage was received.” She replied, obviously referring to herself of course. She saw Solaris rush to leave the ship’s confinements, the expression and the stability in his step would indicate perhaps he was sick? Gummi sickness perhaps? Cid once described it to her. But maybe that was inadequate assumption, the perspiration, uneven yet labor breathing and the speed palpitations of his heart would indicate the physical evidence of fear.

“He’s answer was false?” she wondered out loud, with a genuine tone of curiosity.

The soft sound of the sand receding back into Krad’s gourd drew her attention. This man was kind and dutiful in his obvious intent on protecting her, even though she did not ask for it. Aerith had told her to always be watchful for such things and not to take those acts for granted. Then when the time called for it, it was only right to thank that person.

Now wasn’t’t hat time, as it seemd everyone was crowding the ships exit.
So getting up from her chair, Youni also approached the exit of the ship and looked out into the new and unfamiliar landscape. There was water, condensed with mud and various decomposing contents from the natural wildlife. The air was of elevated temperature with a high density of water, making breathing a more complex task of the lungs. Youni wondered if consuming water in gas form was safe for the lungs.

“There is so much moisture… there are no roads, or houses.. what is this place?”

Rasxa appeared to be particularly angered by the inaccurate designation of their location. She turned ot him and quite frankly did her own unusual way of apologizing. “ Youni was incorrect with identifying this world through the Gummi ship’s haul, please forgive the inaccuracy Rasxa. This cannot be Olympus, for Yuffie has shown Youni a picture of it, and this landscape does not fit it’s description in the slightest.”

Youni’s apologies were always on the stiff side, but she was always trying to improve them.
When Window suggested they split off, she wasn’t sure if it was a good idea. Splitting off in unfamiliar territory was dangerous, but if necessary, it was best to be groups of three, not two.

For a simple reason, if one person was indisposed, injured and or in danger, one could be sent for help, while the third could aid the first one in need. If there were only two, it would mean if possible separation occurred while under duress, their chances of survival and accurate regroup severely dropped.

“The suggestion of separation into groups of two should perhaps be reconsidered, for simple methods practicality, and emergency options. A separation of three would be more sufficient and safe. As for defensive purposes, Youni is trained in methods of magical assault, defensive, supportive and..." she looked up at Nalo, " innovative and restorative capabilities.”

She stepped off from the ship and turned around to face it again. Reached down to her sketchbook which was strapped to her side, then opened it up and flipped to a fresh page, as well as thumbing back into her much older sketches from traverse town till she found the log she was looking for.

“With a sufficient amount of raw materials, and magical energy provided-" she continued "-it is very likely that reconstruction the Gummi Ship by these hands is possible. If need be, all mana reserves can be expired to accomplish this feat, but would result in drastic if not critical physical fatigue. ”

She opened her book and showed them the page of the completed and whole Gummi ship, the sketch showed it from the broad side, and the front, as well the interior, from the angle of someone back in the traverse town hangar.

New parts would lessen the taxation on the pictomancy’s usage.”

In a nutshell, get me whatever you all find and I can put it back together, no mechanic needed. The more parts, the better, the faster and less drain it would be.

Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Devil's Bayou}

It was...rather disheartening to hear that Nalo didn't believe that he could be helpful. It really did not make him feel any better, it actually kind of...annoyed him. An odd feeling for Solaris, who had spent the better part of his life being scared and cowed, not aggravated and annoyed. He really didn't like the feeling either. He didn't want to be angry with Nalo and it scared him a bit that he might be.

Still...he wanted to help. He'd been useless thus far, a hindrance. So, diving into his half-meditative state that he went into when practicing experimental magic, he pulled at his magic, specifically fire magic.

Soon enough, a warm glow could be seen, cutting through the dark and the dank of the swamp. Two small fireballs were hovering in front of Solaris, getting bigger and smaller as he tried to correctly adjust the magic amount. This is harder than I thought it would be. I have to fill it with enough magic to keep it going for a period of time, longer than if I were casting it to attack. Which means it has to have a substantial amount, so that it can last for more than just five minutes. But it can't explode or catch things on fire, as that could be potentially life threatening. And I have to get it to follow the groups...maybe a magical tether of some sort? Attached to someone in the group to float in front and act as a guide and a timer.... "Maybe something like thirty minutes?" Solaris said, not fully aware that it had been aloud. It had all just been pondering, then suddenly he voiced his thoughts without fully meaning to.

Soon enough though, they were there, floating in the darkness and casting a bright glow on their surroundings. Two magical tethers hung from them, looking almost like they were balloons. They were around a foot in diameter and glowed in a combination of soft oranges and reds. "Thirty...minutes..." He panted, quite exhausted by the effort. It had taken a great amount of concentration to do and quite a bit of magic. If they were just looking though, he would be fine and his magic could recharge.

~Rasxa~

Life is an Illusion, Therefore, We all Believe the Same Lie

~Devil's Bayou~

Rasxa smiled and nodded to Youni's suggestion. "Yeah, that's a good idea. So I guess we will split up to look for parts... One group stay here with Youni and the other goes off to look for parts. But who stays and who goes is up to you Window." He said, looking to the man for advice. Then a soft glow caught his attention. "Maybe something like thirty minutes?" He heard Solaris say, seeming to be more talking to himself than the others. Rasxa turned around to see two balls of light enlarge themselves and then come to a decent size. Then glowing strings of fire seemed to unwrap from them, dangling as strings dangle from balloons. "Hey Window, I think you should take one of those balloons, I can't carry it, I have to handle my scythe." He said. I will have to remind myself to later not tick Solaris off for he would be quite a formidable opponent. He thought, making a note to himself.

~Window~

[Devil's Bayou::Outside the Gummi]

As Solaris Teodolis' seed of fire bloomed before him, Window couldn't help but stare at this wonder of magic yet again. "I...I believe this should suit our purposes fine. Many thanks!" Thirty minutes should be fine, I think...but I do hope there is something else out here besides wildlife in a bog. From what it looked like so far, this place seemed to be devoid of any sort of mechanical parts. Being honest with himself, Window knew that he was really going to be looking for some sort of food and shelter in the more likely scenario that they weren't going to dig up anything here.

He shook his head at part of Rasxa's suggestion. "I think that if there are two parties searching for potential items to be used for repairing the gummi ship, then we might have a greater chance of finding something of use. Though I do agree with the notion of sorting ourselves into threes." Youni continued to be a bit of an enigma, but this moment did not seem to be the right time to ponder all of what she had said in the past 20 minutes. What was important was that she said she could fix the gummi. Window really, really wanted to ask her how, but Solaris Teodolis' magic was not going to last forever. Even if Window didn't know much about magic, he could still see that those balls of fire took some effort to sustain.

Now came the problem of how to sort the groups. Nalo had made a suggestion, but Window wasn't sure if it would be wise to have Rasxa and Solaris Teodolis in the same group, considering what had happened earlier. Then again, maybe this was a chance for them to get comfortable around one another? But...he felt wrong trying to force people to join up with others. Even if they had half-elected him to captain the ship, he certainly didn't feel like a leader. "As for the groups...ah, er, well, I trust that people can divide themselves up to their own wishes...? At any rate, I shall be heading off in..." He looked over his left shoulder and pointed. "That direction. If you should so desire to join me, I welcome your presence."

~.~Thales~.~

”You can bend it and twist it… You can misuse and abuse it…
But even the gods cannot change the Truth.”

[Wonderland ~.~ Chamber of Decent]

"That's so sad!" Thales cried out in response to Nymira's story, streams of tears running down his face as his fists trembled at his sides. The young man totally believed everything the woman just said. Any hint of deceitfulness in her voice just flew over his head. However, the tear-jerking moment didn't last very long as Heartless began to crawl out of the shadows and surround the group. With his bo-staff in hand, Thales took a defensive stance and fought off the attacking Heartless!

~.~Dark~.~

””…fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.
The one who has inflicted the injury
must suffer the same injury.” ”

[Gummi Ship ~.~ Devil's Bayou]

As much as Krad's paternal instincts wanted him to stay with Youni, Dark did not want to lose the opportunity to gather more information on the alleged captain of the crew--Window. "I'll come with ya," the man said, stepping forward. Losing his footing, he fell out of the gummi, landing flat on the ground with his face buried in the mud with a loud splat. "It's not that bad...," Krad muttered, bubbles popping in the mud around his face. He slowly rose to his feet, wiping off the dirt from his clothes, then turned to Window and said, "When do we head out?"

Kuropo Guroko

{Judge me not by my size; For I am much more than meets the eyes.}

{Wonderland : Chamber of Descent}

Kuropo fell back into his own thoughts as they began to make their way deeper into the world... or rather what was left of it. He walked along, looking up at those who walked around him. He had long since gotten used to the fact that most everyone else around him aside from the other Tarutarus back from his home, towered over him. All except for the Moogle, who didn't seem at all like the moogles from Vana'diel. Most moogles that he remembered from his beloved home were very nice, they were very good at managing homes and mail too. This moogle though had tried to hit him with a fireball after his little test had ended.

'That moogle... she seems to have so much fire; I best be careful not to earn her ire.' he thought to himself as he continued to walk.

His mages staff was raised defensively as they continued along, until suddenly he heard the deep voice that seemed omnipresent. His eyes narrowed intently, as the voice spoke. They became completely surrounded by Heartless. Immediately his staff was used to strike a Heartless that was coming right for him away. The blue mage though needed a moments cover to prepare and summon his clones. Until then, he was unfortunately stuck with just his staff.
