"I'm sorry...I wasn't trying to call you a liar or anything it's just...I was afraid that maybe you were trying to trick me or something..." Kozue ended her sentence, not wanting to to make the situation any more akward than it already was.

Why would I try to trick you? he thought but couldn't bring him slef to ask. Willaim closed his eyes and then looked back at her. "Kozue..." He leaned over and gave a small kiss that was some how compleatly difernt to him than before but was the same kiss.

Kozue started to blush again. She wouldn't question his feelings anymore. She knew that she must have sounded pretty dumb for saying what she said, but she was happy that he had decided to let it go.

Their silence was broken by the doctor walking by them and said to Kozue, "Your free to elave if you want. But I think the nurces want to see how this turns out. But I don't think you two should have int-" "DOCTOR!" he was cut off by several nurces in unison and draged him off. Bolth Kozue and William could hear the nurces baraid the Doctor, mostly "don't you have any respect for young love you litle-" then veary interesting words were used after wich.

William stood there compleatly embaresed. had they been watching the entire time? his face was scarlet red as he looked up at the celling.

"Oh god..." Kozue looked away from the onlookers, her face almost completly red. She couldn't believe that she hadn't noticed that they were watching the whole time. She couldn't believe what the doctor had said and what he thought they were actually going to do. She did catch that she was free to leave.

"William, can we go now..."

"yea." he said quickly with out hesitation he grabed his books and picked up Norah and stood out side the door while Kozue got dressed. "God damn..." He said to hiself as the nurces walked by looking apolgetic. he wated for her to get dressed so they could get out of there as quicly as possible, if she couldn't go fast he would put her ina wheel chair and run pushing her out he thought.

Kozue finshed getting dressed and walked out of the room with Juno in hand. She saw William waiting anxiously outside of the hospital room and was happy that she didn't have to chase him again. If he felt half as embarassed as she did, she knew he was ready to go. She pushed him slightly on his back.

"Let's go."

((Where to next?))

He wordlessly fallowed her to the elevator and pressed the buton to go down. Norah stood at his feet staring up at juno wantingly. her tail swished back and forth while William shifted his wheight back and forth wating for the elivator.

Kozue moved out of the elevator when she saw the doors open. When she saw the doors to leave the hospital, she could have cried with joy. She felt that she had been in the hospital way to long and she was happy to get out.

Chrono sat there in a bed "I will...not be made...a fool of!" He jumped out of the window, landing on the ground "KURO WILL PAY!" He yelled, it echoed through the school, as he headed out

Upon arrival, Lenair's eyes flitted to and fro about the ground; she searched for a decent clearing, since she didn't want to surprise and/or harm anyone as she landed. After finding the sidewalk that led to the towering, crystalline edifice, she shifted her feathery appendages once more, lowering gently toward the ground. Her grip upon Kuro remained strong, though her biceps were shaking from exhaustion. Almost there... She bit her lip nervously as she gradually made contact with the concrete walkway; a sigh of relief fell from her lips as her descent went accordingly, although Kuro's feet were left to drag along the sidewalk.

Hhmm... now I need to find a doctor, or maybe a healer. I'd rather not drag him inside... that might hurt his feet. Her eyes peered about the premises in search of said individuals; luckily, she spotted a pair of professionally dressed nurses lounging outside (though one appeared to be smoking a cigarette). The scent of the cancer stick flowed toward Lenair, causing her to momentarily scrunch her nose in distaste. Well, at least I've found two nurses."Um, ladies," she loudly voiced, instantly catching their attention as they looked her way. "This boy," she began, glancing momentarily at Kuro. "He needs help!" The nurses observed her and Kuro for a moment, as if confirming the validity of her words, before dashing inside the building, past motion sensor glass doors.

Lenair waited for their return as she released a small sigh, before acknowledging Kuro's motionless figure once more. Her gaze softened as she observed his injuries, namely the crimson streaks that punctured his abdomen. It was hard to believe that the other youth had hurt him this terribly. Hm... they should be able to help him, a lot more than I can. As her eyes fell away from his battle-weary form, she detected the distinct rolling of wheels against concrete. To her surprise, she saw two doctors and the same nurses from before. They approached her with a stretcher and very solemn expressions. "Oh, thank you," she voiced as they stopped beside her.

"No problem at all, it's our job to help those in need," replied one of the doctors as his gentle green eyes examined Kuro.

He, along with the two nurses, gently lifted Kuro from Lenair's shoulder and placed his quiescent form on the stretcher. This incited a weightless and pleased sigh from Lenair's lips as she felt a lot lighter, and slightly off balance. The other doctor noticed this, and steadied her as she placed her gloved hands on her shoulders.

"Miss," she spoke, concern within her kind voice. "Please be careful."

Lenair gazed warmly toward the woman, nodding in response.

"All right," the woman replied. "Now, if you'd like to see you friend, I suggest that you stay in the waiting room. It could take a while before he's stable, so you are welcome to return later, instead."

"Oh, I see," came Lenair's response, as she watched the lone trio push Kuro's prone body inside the facility. "I think I'll wait here for a while. I want to know that he'll be all right..."

The woman nodded in compliance, before steadily releasing Lenair's shoulders. Her hold seemed to improve Lenair's balance, and for that, the hybrid graced the woman with a grateful smile. So, with the arrangement settled, the woman led Lenair inside of the building. (The motion sensor glass doors had given Lenair a bit of a scare at first, but the doctor assisted her, calming her with reassuring words.) Upon entering the hospital, a bright ray of light illuminated the hallways, as the halogen lights glinted off of the glass doors. Initially, Lenair squinted her eyes, due to the harsh glow of the ceiling lights. (She later adjusted to them, upon reaching the waiting room.) The current hallway was redolent of antiseptics, medication, and the like; its scent hadn't changed, it was the same as back then.

Lenair sauntered down the current hall, before following the woman down a hallway to the right. At the end rested two metal doors with rectangular windows. A placard above the entrance read "Waiting Room." The doctor motioned toward the doors as her eyes flitted toward a patient, who appeared to be limping from her room. "You're free to wait here if you like," she spoke, slowly walking away from Lenair. "Our facility has twenty-four hour visitation privileges, so don't worry if you desire to leave for a moment." Lenair nodded once more, as she watched the woman leave her in order to aid another. "Thank you," she replied with a small wave, before easing her way past the sliding metallic doors. Before long, Lenair found herself within the waiting room, which was lined with lime colored chairs and pink pastel wallpaper at every nook and cranny.

Most of the chairs were vacant, so choosing one was a simple task. She selected a chair along the right wall, a few feet aware from a nurse's cubicle. The employee was answering various calls and scheduling in appointments like clockwork. Lenair glanced at the young woman in mild interest. She seems pretty busy... Lenair sighed once more, her eyes descending toward the tiled floor beneath her feet. She was willing to wait, that wasn't a problem. But her mind only worsened the situation with countless thoughts. Hmm... he should be all right. It may take a while, but they'll let me see him. This mental reassurance brought a diminutive smile to her pale face as she twiddled with her fingers, listening to the constantly ringing phone that kept the nurse busy.

Lenair remained within her seat, her eyes staring in a dazed manner at the tiles about the ground. At least an hour had passed, and her worry only thickened with each minute. Kuro... It took her a while to register to an impending presence as dress shoes clacked resonantly against the tiles within the waiting room. She blinked somewhat at first as she raised her head, turning to her right as she spotted a nurse approaching her from afar. Or at least it seemed as though she was nearing her current position. "Hmm?" Lenair murmured to herself, sitting erect within her lime chair as the woman nearly made a beeline toward her seat.

"Miss," the nursed softly beckoned, as she stood in front of Lenair, her eyes slowly examining the girl.

"Your friend is awake, so if you'd like to see him, please, follow me."

"Really," Lenair queried, as she rose from her chair with a start, her heart nearly racing at the woman's good news.

"Yes, so please, follow me," the nurse retorted, a bit surprised by the girl's haste.

Good, he's awake. Now I can see him. Steadily, the nurse lead Lenair out of the waiting room, as the hum of ringing telephones slowly dispersed. The pair sauntered down a stale white hallway, which had patients' rooms located at the left and right sides; metallic placards rested above the doors, indicating the room numbers. Lenair's eyes flitted about somewhat curiously, wondering which room belonged to Kuro, despite the plainness of the hallways. Before long, the nurse paused in front of a single room, which didn't possess a door, and strongly smelt of soap and antiseptics. Hmm? Slowly, the nurse turned toward Lenair, her gaze directed at her sapphire eyes.

"Miss," the nurse began in a professional tone, "before visiting your companion, you'll need to get a change of clothes and also wash your hands."

Lenair blinked in a mild confusion, before realizing why she had to go about this momentary procedure. Some of Kuro's blood had stained her hands and clothing; so for the sake of sanitariness, for both herself and Kuro, she would need to cleanse her hands and accept whatever clothes the hospital offered her.

"All right," came Lenair's response, as she warily entered the room, which lacked just as much color as the previous hallway. She ignored the pale hue as she approached a pearly sink, with a mirror resting against the nearest wall. She took a momentary glance as she detected smears of blood along her sleeves and hands; with much haste, she turned the left faucet, causing the nozzle to issue a stream of warm water. She cleansed her hands thoroughly with the lukewarm water and anti-bacterial soap that she pumped into her open palms. I'm surprised that I hadn't noticed before. Heh, that's almost silly of me; I had probably been too focused on his well-being at the time...

After a few minutes, Lenair turned the left faucet back, as she toweled her hands down with a cloth that hung to the side of the sink. Once her hands were fairly dry and without a modicum of blood left upon her fingers, she walked towards the changing stalls, which were concealed by thin, gray curtains. Lenair paused at first, looking a bit skeptically at the lone drapery, which she assumed was nearly transparent.

"Um, is this safe," she nervously questioned, hoping that the nurse was able to hear her.

"The changing stalls," she nurse sagely answered, as though familiar with this dilemma.

"Yes, they're safe. Don't worry, I'll be standing right here, so I won't let anyone disturb you."

"All right," Lenair replied, a bit unsurely as she entered one of the stalls, viewing the articles of clothing that lay across a metal chair.

There was a simple pair of cotton slippers, a loose short-sleeved blouse with the hospital's trademark insignia, and a pair of loose pants that were made adjustable by two strings. "Hmm, this seems fine," Lenair maundered to herself as she began to change, her eyes always returning warily toward the curtain. (She simply couldn't lay her discomfort aside.) About ten minutes later, with the ruffling of fabric filling the air, Lenair emerged, dressed snugly within the hospital clothes as she left her former attire within the room (promising to return later). (Her wings remained as they rested along her back, once more; two slits had been made into the blouse to accommodate for her feathery appendages.) As she left the room, the nurse gazed at her approvingly and motioned for her to follow. They commenced walking once more, passing a series of rooms before reaching their final destination.

The nurse halted in her steps as she stopped before a single door, which had a placard that consisted of the metallic No. 067. Lenair easily caught up and stood beside the nurse as she meticulously opened the door, revealed an idyllic room that was far was pleasing than the hospital's bland hallways. Oh... so this is where he's resting... Lenair took note of a few paintings that lined the walls, two television sets (on opposite sides of the room), and lastly, a silky white curtain that separated an empty bed from the convalescent that she sought. Kuro... he must be there.

"Miss," the nurse spoke, interrupting Lenair's observance of the room as her gentle gaze rested upon the drapery that concealed the boy.

"You're allowed to stay here, as long as there are no disturbances. If he begins to convulse or if something else appears to threaten his health, call me over the intercom."

"Yes, I understand," Lenair responded, as her cotton slippers carried her toward the other half of the room.

"I also promise to inform you, if anything goes wrong."

Before crossing the final threshold, Lenair turned around, offering a gracious smile to the nurse, in gratitude. "Thank you," she replied, as the woman left the room for another patient in need. With that said, Lenair turned around, entering the other end of the room with a gentle smile upon her face. As she saw Kuro, stitches and layers of gauze about his bare torso, her eyes flooded with sympathy and guilt. Hhm... I wish I hadn't left... Slowly, she neared his side, sliding a chair toward his hospital bed as she sat down, resting her pale hands within her lap. Her smile softened as she gazed into his bi-colored eyes, seeing that a dreamy mist had yet to lift from them. "Kuro," she lightly questioned, as her curly lengths of hair shifted noiselessly in front of her cerulean eyes. She gently pushed the stray locks from her eyes, with a slightly nervous look upon her face. "How are you feeling?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 02, 2006 1:05 am

Kuro looked at Lenair and gave a simple smile before responding in a still hoarse voice."I feel as though I've died a million deaths..."His eyes shifted to look at the television, which was set to some kind of gameshow bull.He moved his hand to the remote and hit the power button, causing the television to cut off and go blank."But to tell the truth after a fight like that I feel...Fulfilled..."He admitted before coughing heavily into his hands."Guess this new lung still hasn't taken to me..."He muttered.

Lenair nearly cringed at his description; she had imagined that his pain was almost unbearable, but he made it seem a lot worse. "Well, at least the ordeal is over," she remarked, as she also took notice of the game show on television. A single brow arched in question, since she had never actually watched television, despite having a TV set in her dorm. Strange... the representation is pretty clear, and the figures are very life-like. Before she could fall prey to more confusion and wonder, Kuro turned off the televison by manipulating the remote within his hand. When the refined image died and faded into the original obsidian screen, Lenair tilted her head to the side.

"Huh?" Where did the image go?... As Kuro spoke once more, Lenair turned her partially tilted head in his direction. Eventually, she composed herself as he continued, recounting how the battle had made him feel. "Fulfilled," she maundered, blinking in a curious manner; she couldn't relate to how he'd felt in battle, for her emotions were usually quite the opposite. She was about to question him about that particular sensation, when he broke out into a fit of coughs. She froze for a moment, this seeming all to familiar as he cupped his mouth with his hands. It's almost like that one time... in the courtyard... with...

She almost expected blood to rest within his palms, despite how lurid the scene would have been. But thankfully there was none as his coughs died down, and he continued to breath, though with great difficulty. She continued to stare at him, mild shock within her gaze as he informed her of his new lung. She remained silent for a moment, the fear slowly dissipating from her cerulean orbs as she blinked, averting her gaze toward her fingers. "Oh, so you've had a lung transplant... or something similar to that?" A heavy sigh surpassed her rosy lips before she dared to gaze at him once more. "Do you know how long it'll take for you to adjust," she inquired, her eyes discerning the scar that rested just above his lungs. Her lips became agape as she examined the mark, seeing that the demon hybrid had really hurt Kuro. It's a miracle that he's so stable, even now. Then again, he must have inherited the regeneration abilities of his other half...
