jose_sedan02 Thanks...I guess...what's the second step...? What type of insomnia are we talking about? Can't fall asleep, can't stay asleep, wake up early and can't fall back asleep? Maybe even a combination? Lucky me, I suffer from all of the above. And are you unable to turn off your thoughts or worry and can't sleep? Or do you just not get sleepy?

Mostly it's just that I can't get to sleep. Being on Gaia isn't helping but I'd rather do something than stare into space for hours upon end. I just got put on this weird pill called tripdafan(sp?) and now I can get to sleep when I take it, but I can't stay asleep. My parents won't allow me to take actual hardcore sleeping pills.

I'm not familiar with that particular drug. I take Ellavil. It's more commenly used as an anti-depresent, but it's the only thing so far that actually makes me drowsy other than Nyquil; if I don't take it, I don't sleep. They don't know what the hell is wrong with me. Hardcore sleeping pills arn't always a good idea, as you could develop a dependency and they don't induce as much REM sleep as you really need, so I don't really blame your parents, but there might be something else that could work, like my meddication does for me even though that's technichally not what it's usually used for. I also got a tip from someone a while back that sometimes a hormone imbalance can cause insomnia, so you might want to ask about that.

Lately I've just given up trying to sleep on weekdays and sleeping only on weekends where I collapse from exhaustion. Not very healthy, but it helps a little. And I'm really happy and hyper right now since it snowed like 6 inches tuesday morning and we have had no school tuesday, wednesday, and now thursday. Which means I don't have to finish my lab report! Such a naughty, naughty procrastinator I am...

Pills are the reason i get as much sleep as I do. I can only imagine what I would be like without my pills.

I use to take pills. Not for sleeping but because I was rather hyper when I was little.
