Elsewhere... further into the jungle... time to check the new trap :3

1: something takes the bait, but the trap fails in containing it (or snaring it at allon a 1-2, the branches hold while something too light gets the food.)

2-3: nuffink. Unless one of the other Islanders happen into your trap. The bait is left.

4-10: It works! Details if the roll gets this. (4-5, normal, smallish meal-animal, 6-7 a good meal. 8-10- ninja ))

When you next go to check your trap, you hear strange noises as you get close to the dug pit, and a musky scent as you get even closer.

When you look in, you notice that your trap did indeed work... but what you caught...

It looks about to have the size and build of a wild pig, but the ears are longer, and covered in a white fur. In addition to the protruding tusks are large buck-teeth. Its eyes are bulging and red, and white fur seems to cover its back, ending is a small puff-tail. Its feet are still hooved, leaving marks in the dirt floor much like the marks that were left earlier. It's obviously injured, and squealing in pain.

In all, it appears to be the size of a smallish peccary, about 65 lbs.

Lily follows behind Colche quietly until she reaches the cool sands beneath the palm. She'd only spent a brief amount of time on the beach before now, but couldn't be happier to be there right now- maybe if she managed to find some food.

Digging her feet in the sand she looks back at Colche and nods, "I'll go look for food, then. You wait here?" Her stomach rumbles in it's own demanding way, she looks towards the trees at the edge of the sands- there had to be some fruit bearing trees near here.

Colche nods softly but points upwards with a little giggle "Coco-nuts" her blue gaze fled upwards fixing them selves upon the large brown things which dangled above their heads. Coconuts were in abundance here. She had found one once before and taken it to the canteen lady. She had cracked it open and it was nice, it had milk inside and white stuff that tasted good. She grins broadly, feeling proud of her knowlege though really it was only by chance she had found out about them.

"What?" Lily looks up to where Colche points, spotting the coconuts. She bites her lip as she looks the tree up and down. It's too high to reach the nuts from the ground, and the trunk looks rough but it's hanging at an angle that looks managble if one is careful. She wonders why she didn't really notice it before, though she doesn't really think about climbing trees much..

"That'll work," she says after looking at the tree, "I would rather not go back to the jungle. Hold on."

She steps around and goes to the grassy area just at the edge of the beach, where the trunk of the palm tree is. She looks over the long trunk of the tree before gently stepping onto the edge of it, determined to be of some use and to let Colche rest. Lily leans down to have the tree within her reach should she not keep her balance as she starts to walk along it.

(( 1 and 2- those are examples of how I interpreted the 'overhanging' part of the tree ^^; And it's easier to get them when you don't have to do as much vertical climbing. ))

Colche looked up to watch lily make her strange accent. She giggled softly, it looked a funny sight to her she'd never thought about climbing and the cheetah she was becoming infused with had no want to go climbing either. She licks her lips her tiny stump of a tail giving a flicker. She could faintly remember the taste of coconut last time she had eaten it, it would suffice for now but the idea of chocolate cake hovered in the back of her mind, that and sleep. She yawned once again as she awaited lily's return to the sandy earth.

Lily moves slowly up the trunk of the tree, not feeling very steady the farther she gets. When she starts getting too wobbly she sits down, one leg on each side of the trunk, and inches her way to the leaves. Very carefully she leans into the leaves and reaches out to the coconuts, with little success. She bites her lip, inches forward some, and reaches out again.

"Ahah," she says to herself in a hushed, triumphant voice as she gets a hold of one coconut. One she gets a grip she pulls at it, and when it comes free she let's it fall- though accidentally. Luckily, it doesn't hit Colche.

It doesn't take her long to pull several more nuts free, tossing them to the sand carefully. Then she starts her way back down the tree, inching carefully until she reaches a point she feels comfortable jumping from.

"There," she says, taking a deep breath.

Colche giggles softly watching the coconuts fall in to the sand with little splooshes. it was amazing the things that could make her laugh. Looking up at lily she waited for her to drop before picking up a coconut, she couldn't remember how the canteen lady had opened the thing to get to the good bit. After a good long moment of contemplation she tried a little chew at the rather rough 'strawlike' surface spitting out what ever she pulled off and glareing at the thing. okay, this one was definately up to lily to sort out. Holding out the brown object she smiled sweetly, she was sleepy and words weren't jumping to her head for what she wished to happen to the coconut so it was all up to interpretation quite frankly.

She walks over to one of the coconuts and picks it up, considering how she would get it open. Though she isn't watching Colche trying to get the nut open, when she sees a hand hold out a coconut she knows right away that she too needs help getting into the food. She takes the nut out of Colche's hand and looks around. The beach was covered in fine sands, almost consistantly until the border of the beach where there was the jungle and the moutains.

"This is the hard part," she tells Colche, "Getting them open. A rock would work, but I don't see any right here- but unless you're feeling particularly strong, I'm going to have to go find one."

She smiles.

Colche smiled sleepily, her blue eyes were starting to have that childish distant look to them now. She long blinked for a moment, she had heard what lily said but most of it was goiing in one ear and ouyt the other at this point, she was hungry and tired, as long as the coconuts got opened she really didn't mind how. her eyes opened once again though they were open just a touch. "Rock" she yawns her eyes closing once again. For a long monment it seemed liked she had nodded off sitting up like a very big kitten, but her eyes shot open when her stomach made a loud growling sound to remind ehr she had to eat before she slept. She sniffled a bit rubbing her huge blue eyes with the back of her hand "coco-nut" she mumbled, too sleepy to think of other words to ask for it to be opened.

Lily nods to Colche after it looks like she's gone to sleep, and sets the coconuts on the sand. She steps back and then considers how far into the jungle she'd have to go for a rock. Not being sure what part of the beach they were on, she only knew the jungle went in far enough to get to where the pig had been. But she knows she doesn't want to go that far in.

She's startled out of her thinking when Colche speaks.

"All right, Colche," she says decisively, "I'll be right back."

Lily heads off to the jungle without any further hesitation, though once in the trees she makes sure she knows where she is and that she doesn't go far into the trees. She steps along, watching the ground for rocks and anything she may not wish to step on. She manages to stay focused on finding a rock despite everything.

"A ha," she exclaims in a low voice when she finally spots a fair sized rock that would work. She grabs the rock and heads back toward the beach and Colche. Though she doesn't recall exactly how she got where she is in the jungle, she finds the beach itself and then follows it back to Colche.

"I got a rock," she announces brightly, gathers up the coconuts by kicking them into a little pile, and then sits down to start trying to get one of them open.

Colche waited in silence, or partial silence, until lily returned. She hummed softly, singing to herself from one of the songs which she had learned from her books.

"twinkle twinkle little star" she whispers between a yawn though her humming stops as lily returns with a stone and tries to open the coconut. It seemed a strange way to open it but lily knew best. Smiling lightly she watched, a student beign taught by an unknowing teacher. Things she was taught always came in handy in this place and now she was outside and there was no cafeteria, she was pretty sure she'd need to know how to eat coconuts.

Giggling softly her huge blue eyes rested in a slightly more awake manner on the coconut waiting for it to open so she could eat the nice white stuff inside.

Lily bites her lip, glancing up at Colche only once while she taps the coconut with the rock. She'd never really opened a coconut before, but a rock seems quite a logical choice to her. She works carefully but after several hard taps with the rock a crack starts in the nut.

"Oh," she says with a smile, and taps again. The crack lengthens, and Lily is only reminded of the water in a coconut when some of it leaks through the crack and down her arm. She promptly sets it upright so whatever is left is caught in one side of the nut.

"There we go, Colche," she announces as she attempts to get the nut into two pieces, finally suceeding but not without losing most of the liquid inside, "Food." With a sigh she hands the pieces to Colche.

Colche grinned taking the coconut from lily she smiled brightly, her face pretty much went straight in to half of the nut, she wasn't about to bother picking the white stuff out it was easier just to scoff it from it's brown skin. She paused to smile at lily some of the white flecks of coconut stuck to her lips and cheeks "nice" she puurrs, happy to ahve something in her stomach at last.

Some where in her mind though the little pigglett she had killed swam in to her view, she could imagine eating it, it would have tasted so nice. Shje shook away the image, that wasn't her, she liked chocolate cake as well as meat and it was always cooked. Colche was becoming a little worried about her new thoughts, but, how could she tell somone about them when she didn't have the words?

Lily works on getting another coconut open, being more careful this time as she tries not to lose the water. If she doesn't lose the water they should have something to drink without getting up again. She looks up and smiles at Colche when the girl purrs happily, pleased to have helped but the purr in her voice just draws her attention back to the fact that she's being turned into a feline of some kind. And that Lily will soon turn into something as well.

With a frown she returns to the coconut, finally getting it open with minimal water loss she holds it out for Colche again- but this time she doesn't really look up, she looks to the other coconuts.

"Here," she says, glancing briefly upward, "This has more of the water in it."

She reaches for another coconut to occupy herself once again.

Colche takes the half a coconut and takes a drink from the 'milk' inside smiling still. Of course, that sixth sence suddenly kicks in and she realises Lily isn't happy. Alot of people on the island were'nt happy, she didn't exactly understand why though she always tried to cheer them up. "What do lily?" she tilts her head softly, her blue eyes smiling, if she could cheer Ambrose up and Lauren up she was pretty sure she could cheer anyone up, especially since she didn't understand why people were so sad. The island was the best thing to ever happen to her.
