[She is not that much taller than I am, but she appears stronger. He shifts his artificial eye between its different settings to get a better picture of Cora overall, but his gaze lingers on her arm. It looked normal enough on his normal vision setting, but the heat distributions was far too even. Does that mean she's like me?]
So I... [breathe] see. [breath] How far... [breathe] in the future?

:::She tried not to stare, but it was hard to help:::
Judging from your- uhm... I'd guess at least 800 years... :::looking again::: maybe more? What year are you from?

Oh..!
:::She seemed a bit surprised. That was a bit earlier than she anticipated:::
I was off then. I'm from- :::fixing herself:::
I originated from the 31st century. About 1000 years ahead of you...
:::She looked down so she'd stop staring:::
What's your name?

[He was a bit disappointed by her answer. He had hoped it would be sooner.]

Good to meet you Andrew.
:::She nodded to him and looked over at the bar:::
The fact aside that we are in a timeless chasm where physics and the laws of matter aren't neccessarily a constant... we do have a bar. Would you like something to drink?

[He tries to remember the list of substances that Doc said he wasn't allowed to have yet before answering.]
Is there... [breath] any white grape juice?

There is.
:::She walks over, and motions with her hand for him to follow::
And in fact, anything you can think of will be here. It's never let anyone down, as far as I know.

[He takes slow, careful steps. He stil has not yet gotten used to the new legs. He glanced at her arm again.]
Thank you. If you don't... [breathe] mind my asking, your arm... [breathe breathe]
[He feels his lungs acting up again and quickly stops speaking. Damn, these things! Instead of srawing attention to the malfunction he lets it appear that he simply trailed off.]

:::She thought she heard something seize in his machinery, but couldn't be sure so she let it go. After a moment of silence between them, and after pulling out a cold bottle of white grape juice she looked at him:::
Yes. I thought you might already have noticed. That eye is reflecting infrared, and heat scanning.
:::Cora opened the bottle and poured him a glass. She set it on the bar for whenever he was ready to take it, then walked back around so that it wasn't between them. Deeciding that if she could get the curiosity out of her system, she could finally stop staring at him, Cora walked up closer to him:::
I'll let you examine mine if you let me examine yours...

[He nods, but hesitates a moment before laying his left arm on the bar. He does not look at it it, and closes his eyes as her uses his right hand to lift the glass to his lips.]

:::She smiles at him, actually a bit bashfully, but decides she'd be embarassed when it was her turn. She'd start with what he gave her:::
:::Cora leaned over it, using her left, real hand to examine it. Her gloved index finger ran over some of the edges, until she reached the portions that met his skin. Barely any attempt at integration at a biological level. Only the crudest most required nurological mapping. So very early was this done in the history of cybernetics...
She looked up at his neck and his face, still using her hand, not realizing this might be... rude. A million things ran through her head, analyzing his system, trying to understand what internal parts must also be assimilated by guessing the structure of some of the wiring:::

:::She pauses when he shudders:::
I- I'm sorry. I know...
:::Cora decided to give it a rest, figuring she'd seen enough for just then. Stepping back, she hit a release on her right cuff and it unlached, the glove part of it becoming rigid and folding into the metal apparatus. She set it on the bar.
Holding out the arm, she took a quick breath and put a bit of preasure on the underside of it in a line, zigging in a pattern only she and its enginerr knew. It was the pattern to dismantle the arm for observation and repairs. The whole thing seemlessly began to unfold into multiple different sections, the fingers sliding outwards, the ones with mechanisms in them unfolding and flattening into pannels, her palm a kind of sensory skin-toned bit of semi-flesh opened to show different viles and tiny stims. The rest of her arms compiled an amazing amount of very tiny parts, chips, pieces mixed with something that looked like flesh. No wires to be seen:::
:::Her upper arm held it out to him:::

[In spite of his malfunctioning breathe regulators, Andrew gasps. He watches from inches away after setting down his glass.]
That's incredible!
[He scans it multiple times with each eye setting, never taking his natural one off it.]
I wish Doc McColn... [breathe] could do something... [breath] like that! To norm-... [breathe] normal eyes, it looks real. [breath] Does it act and... [breathe] feel like the old one?
