...it amuses me that I always type his name as "Adamn" at first.
Dude, that was totally my kind of party. Nice people, entirely nonalcoholic drinks, and red licorice. Wish we could've stayed longer.

Arright, a bit of my current thoughts on music.
I am sad since I think the new singer that Nightwish chose really really sucks. .___.;;
I mean, not saying that Anette is bad, since she's got an okay voice, but she just doesn't fit with the band at ALL. But then again, it would be pretty hard to replace Tarja..

'Cept I don't mind what I've heard so far. *shrug* I really disliked Tarja's voice when I first listened to Nightwish, which is why it took me so long to finally listen to their music without getting a headache. Anette's voice is a bit more like the voices I'm used to hearing, so I like it. She's pretty, too. (Imo.)
And thankfully the music still sounds like Nightwish, at least to me. I was a little worried that having the new singer would just alter everything, even if only by a little bit. (That's the reason I'm afraid to listen to Fuel, even though I really really liked them, too.)
Damn...when did today get to be the 2nd of June already?? That makes tomorrow...haha. Cake for me. =D

You mean they finally got a new female lead? They're playing in Cleveland soon, and I was going to try to see them, but last I checked, Marco was listed as the only vocalist. I'm not bothering to drive that far and make hotel arrangements just to hear him growl and butcher the songs. -_-'
I was kinda hoping they'd lure in Simone Simmons. I love her voice, but I don't like Epica all that much as a band. But I didn't think she was the type to just ditch her band like that.
Nightwish has been my favorite band for years and I'd like them to keep putting out good music... but at the same time... I'm kinda hoping they flop without Tarja. I know she was planning to leave the band anyways, but the way they kicked her out was unprofessional and petty.
Anyways, where have you found clips of her singing? I don't see any on the site. Was she in another band?

Oh... the audio section. Duh.
And blech. Tarja may be a hard act to follow, but there are singers out there who could do it, but this chick? Terrible. Nightwish ******** themselves. There's none of the passion or tragedy to her voice that Tarja had. At best, it's a cabaret voice, and at worst, it's obnoxiously shrill. To go from pseudo-operatic to that? She shouldn't even be trying to sing metal - the bass completely overpowers her.
Time to find some new bands, unless they start releasing instrumental albums. *shakes head*

And there's some clips on the Nightwish site under the "Audio" section, though I didn't care for "Eva" at all. >_>;; "Master, Passion, Greed" and "7 Days to the Wolves" were mediocre from what I heard so far, but nothing groundshattering.. I find Anette's voice to be too bland for their kind of music, IMO.
