Shadow watched form the distance, feeling very proud of Maxine to be so successful on her first attemept. It wasn't how Shadow would have doen it but it was as good a way as any. Shadow walked over to Maxine, his steps making no sound as he advanced. Before long he was standing just a few feet away, watching as Maxine fed.

Maxine pulled away when she was satisfied. She smiled knowing she didn't take all his blood, nor did she want to take all his blood. She licked her lips, "Haven't you hunted for the night yet, Shadow?"

"I have not yet hunted no. I wanted to be sure you made it through your first meal alright. I wasn't going to run off when there was the possibilty of you getting caught." Shadow said with a smile. He noticed that her prey was still alive, the faint beat of the heart could be heard. "Do you intend to let him live?" he asked as he took a seat next to Maxine.

"This is the difficult part of hunting. If he lives he might just go on with his life and cower away in the darkness but there is also the possibility that he will talk. I have always found it better to just kill them, that way there is no one to talk. It is your choice and he can be... removed if you let him live and he becomes a problem." Shadow said. This choice was Maxines and Maxines alone. Just because Shadow didn't like to let his prey live to speak of it another day dosen't mean that all should follow his example.

Claire was going past the front door when she heard a loud knocking. Not seeing anyone else in the vicinity, she answered the door herself. "Hello?" she cautiously greeted the newcomer.

Since the conversation appeared to have stopped for good, Otilla left the dining room to wander around. She entered the front hall and saw a familiar figure. "CLAIRE!" The childlike vampire squealed, running over and hugging her old friend.
--
"CLAIRE!" The shout was the only warning Claire Pelletier got before practically being tackled by someone. Looking down, she immediately responded, "Tilla? What're you doing here?" Remembering herself, she looked back toward the newcomer. "Sorry about that."

noticing a girl and then a little girl tackling her Dax stood at the door and just watched. "bad time?" he joked and stood outside the threshold smiling at the two girls.

Shadow nodded, "I understand, I will take this ones life for you. If that is what you want." Shadow said as he looked to Maxine. His hand slid down to his side arm that he kept on him for times like this. He drew it from its holster and released the safety.

Maxine sighed, "Yes, please...I don't mean to have so weak, but I don't think I can do it this time."
She sighs and looks down waiting for him to take the life of her victim for her.

Claire laughed a little. "Long story," she replied. "My name's Claire Pelletier, by the way."
Ottila let go of her friend and introduced herself as well. "My name is Ottila Hahne. Don't call me Tilly, only Claire's allowed to do that."

Shadow pressed his gun to the victims head. "Don't apologies, it takes time to get used to killing but for me... it was what I was raised to do." Shadow said as he pulled the trigger. With that done Shadow fliped the safety back on and holstered his weapon.

Maxine bit her bottom lip and watched him slowly. When he pulled the trigger she flinched for a second then looked to him quickly, "What do we do with the body?"

"We dump it in the forest by the manor or we can just leave it here for someone to find. As long as they can no longer talk, they pose no threat to us." Shadow said as he stood. "He was your prey, what do you want to do with his remains?" Shadow looked down the the corpse, it looked weak and would be of no use to him for anything, not even simple reanimation.
